Chapter 46 – Maleah The Angel Of Death Novel

Kay smiles at her as he gets out of the seat next to me,

“You can always butt in, I think we all like breathing.” Kay says as she sits down.

Dax is typing on his laptop as I place my hand on her leg and it takes a moment before he tells her they live in one of the cottages with their parents.

“Then you can banish them from the Pack-house. The Pack-house is a meeting place for all Pack-members, a place where they can come together to enjoy a good time and if you ask me those females are ruining it for everyone.

If you don’t want to make that decision on your own you could ask the Pack-members to vote on it, that way you make this a Pack decision.” Maleah explains and I see Dillon grabbing a book from the shelf behind him.

“Don’t worry, Dillon. You are allowed to banish Pack-members for different reasons, but they have to be warned at least once before you can do that and if you really want to play it safe you ask the Pack-members to vote.” She says.

Commander is staring at her as she is talking to Dillon and we both have to admit that we are lucky to have her as our Mate, but I can feel that Commander is elsewhere with his mind.

He probably worries about us visiting Alpha Brad’s Pack, but our entire leadership will be by her side and if anyone thinks they can take her away from me they are sorely mistaken.

Her hand is resting on mine as Dillon and Dominic are discussing whether or not to ask our Pack to vote, she is absentmindedly rubbing her thumb over the back of my hand and I watch as her eyes change between her own eye color and that of Fortune.

I wish I could look inside her head to see where her mind is going, I would love to find out what she is thinking about and if I am part of her train of thought.

“I will leave you guys to this, I need to find out what your Mothers think of my designs.” She says.

Kay walks her to the door and closes it behind her, “I think she had a valid point. You have warned them more than once to leave all of us alone, that none of us wants a chosen Mate and every single day they try again. If Maleah is correct about that vote I say we hold one.” Kay says as he sits down next to me and I tell them I agree with Kay.

“We have been over this for years now, every time one of them turns eighteen we have to go through the same thing again and I am done. I am glad Commander felt the connection to Maleah and I will sigh in relief the day our Mate-bond is completed, the day I will be able to mark her as my Mate.” I say.

Levi just nods his head, but Dillon is agreeing with us out loud and even Dax says that it is time to set an example.

“Okay, than we agree on this vote. Will we leave this for tomorrow morning or will we do this right away?” Dominic asks and we all agree that we will have a Pack meeting in the morning to deal with this.

I listen to the conversation in the Alpha office and as Elyse is discussing the designs with Myrah and Lynn Maleah walks towards the office, we both know quite a lot about our laws and history.

She explains to our Alphas what she is talking about, while I explore the feeling I had the first time I had dinner with our leadership and even though it isn’t as strong as it was with Mack I feel the connection with Levi, but when I concentrate on Kay I feel it almost as strong as with Mack.

Maleah had enjoyed our classes on history, especially if they were about Mates and the difference between the old days and now. She could drive our teacher up the wall with her questions, but in the end we were always grateful for all the answers our teacher gave us and when we had to make an essay about the Mate-bond she chose an unusual topic.

Do only multiples share a Mate? The teacher had been surprised to see the bookwork she had made out of it.

Everyone gets taught that a twin or any other multiple shares a Mate, but that isn’t always the fact.

In the old days it was more common for multiples to share a Mate, unless it wasn’t a same sex multiple. In that case each of them got their own Mate, which still seems to apply these days, but there is a difference these days for a completely same sex multiple and that is that they can each get a Mate if they are too different in character.

Maleah’s research showed us that now a days it isn’t just multiples that can share a Mate and then of course she wanted to know why some females got more than one

Mate, which ended with a huge bookwork for her essay.

After the teacher had read through it she asked Maleah to present it to the entire school and in true Maleah style she stood in front of her entire school to tell them about her research, to show them why sometimes a female gets more than one Mate.

In the beginning, after we lost the ability to find our Mate at a Full Moon, a lot of females got kidnapped and some died while they tried to escape, while others took their own lives to escape their faith.

It caused a decrease in females and to make sure Packs didn’t go extinct they started to get more than one Mate, just to make sure our population wouldn’t dwindle down even further.

Over the centuries our population started to build-up again, but a female getting more than one Mate never stopped and to this day it still occurs a few times a year.

Each of those females have something in common, but I doubt Maleah remembers the research she did for her essay and I need to remind her of it before I tell her what I discovered.

I have to do it soon, because I can’t risk her finding out another way. She needs to know what she is in for.
