Flossie’s cheeks heated in shame, and she wanted to leave, but Halston just hugged her even tighter.
“Calm down, time’s not up yet,” Halston closed his eyes and whispered to Flossie.
“You know, I should be asking you that question. Isn’t it tiring for you?” Flossie stopped struggling and whispered furiously to Halston. She couldn’t blame the parents for bringing it up; she herself was tired of this vicious circle. She didn’t want to feel these emotions anymore.. She just wanted peace.
After ten minutes passed, Flossie and Halston let go of each other.
“Great! That’s the kind of romance we want to see!” Some of the parents started clapping enthusiastically.
Adie and Abby looked at each other, covered their mouths, and giggled.
“I told you, Adie-Mommy is still in love with Daddy. Their relationship will get better after they hug each other.”
Yeah, Mommy is just stubborn. I don’t think she’s mad anymore…”
“Mommy behaved herself today, but Daddy didn’t. We’ve got to come up with a way to make him fix this.”
“Mm, let me think…” Adie frowned deeply as he thought about it. Finally, he smiled and said, ” I have an idea.”
After the group session, the parents went to start cooking. They took out the ingredients they had fished and foraged, and either cooked or roasted the seafood. Meanwhile, the children happily ran and played on the beach, their gleeful laughter resonating throughout the whole island.
Adie was writing something in the sand when a girl walked up to him with an apple in her hands.
“Adie, I’ve got an apple. Do you want it?” The girl asked sweetly.
“No!” Adie refused instantly without even looking up, just as insensitive as Halston. However, he suddenly seemed to recall something. Wait a minute. He turned around and locked at the apple in the girl’s hand. “I’ll take it.”
“Really? Adie, you want my apple? I’m so glad! The girl’s eyes shone with happiness as she eagerly handed the apple to Adie.
Adie took the apple and went to a tap to wash it. Then, he walked over to a girl in a white dress who was watching the sea quietly and held it out to her. “Hey, crybaby. This is for you!”
The girl looked up at Adie in confusion, then asked indifferently. “Why are you giving me an apple?”
“Didn’t you say you love eating apples?” When the girl hesitated to take the apple, Adie raised an eyebrow and straightened, about to leave. “It’s fine if you don’t want it.”
“Wait.” The girl quickly took the apple from Adie and bit it. “Of course, I want it.”
‘You’re silly, Tiffany Elsher!” Adie said with a grin, and the both of them laughed. Meanwhile, someone secretly watched the two children from nearby….
Adie and Tiffany’s relationship began from the moment Adie arrived at Monte Perry Kindergarten.
As soon as he entered, a lot of girls were charmed by him because of his handsome face and elegant temperament -he was just like a fairytale prince.
Many girls, and even some boys, would hand him notes, snacks, or toys every day… but Tiffany was different.
She would always sit ina comer gloomily, not showing any interest in Adie or the other children.
All the children became excited whenever there was a class activity, but she always just sat by herself quietly, reluctant to participate.
Adie was a very observant child, and had immediately noticed Tiffany.
He was friendly to her and invited her to play with him and the other children a few times, but Tiffany always shook her head and refused.
Adie had probably spoken to Tiffany less than ten times in that semester.
Things began to change one summer afternoon.
Adie was wandering around the kindergarten when he suddenly heard someone crying in the shrubs.
As he got closer, he found a few girls standing around Tiffany, trying to bully her.
“Why aren’t you talking? Are you mute?”
“Why didn’t you dance when the teacher asked US to dance? We all danced, you know. You’re not a bad girl…”
“A kid like you will only embarrass our class. If you don’t talk, we’ll call you Dummy!”
“Yeah, Dummy. You’re a dummy.Haha!”
Tiffany was generally quite aloof and indifferent, but she couldn’t handle being scolded and mocked by so many people.
She burst into tears and sobbed, “I’m not mute, I just like to be quiet…
If my silence disturbed you, I’ll apologize, but can you please stop calling me mute?”
The girls became more excited when they finally got a reaction from Tiffany.
“No, you’re mute. The dummy actually started talking!”
“Why is your hairpin so ugly? Hurry up and take it off, Dummy…”
One of the girls pulled Tiffany’s hairpin out of her hair.
“What are you doing? Don’t touch me!”
Tiffany became furious, her face flushed as she tried to snatch her hairpin back.
“Give me back my hairpin! My mother bought it for me.” “Aah, the dummy is so fierce! She’s hitting people!”
“We don’t want to play with fierce people like you.
We won’t be friends with her!”
The girls were about to leave, but Tiffany hurried forward.
“I don’t want to be friends with you all either… just give my hairpin back to me
Tears poured down Tiffany’s cheeks as she begged them.
“Give her back her hairpin!”
Adie ordered as he walked towards them, determined to fix things didn’t do anything to you sho why are you all bullying her? My mommy said people should help each other, not fight each other!””Adie!” When the girls saw Adie, they rushed to him excitedly.
“It’s nothing…We just came here t^ ask her to play with us
Adie’s expression didn’t change.
“It’s her choice if she doesn’t want to talk.
Maybe she just hates talking.
Whatever it is, she’s not offending or disturbing any of you…
It’s annoying when you do things like this!” The girls had never expected their Prince Charming to side with the weirdo instead of them, and they became very upset.
