Flossie yelled at them, but her heart warmed as she watched them. It felt like they had returned to the time when the four of them lived together happily it wasn’t that long ago, but many things had happened since then. Although Flossie hated Halston and his betrayal, she had to admit that her family seemed stronger and more complete with him around. Even the children looked happier. Married couples wouldn’t divorce if they were still able to live together… Flossie still couldn’t understand why Halston wanted to ruin such a wonderful thing.
The family of four set off for a cliff on the island based on the map provided by the kindergarten.
Halston carried Abby and placed her on his shoulders while Adie tried searching for the road ahead of them.
Flossie walked behind them, keeping her distance.
“Daddy, that cave is very scary.
It’s dark and deep.
I heard that there are dragons that protect the treasures in it…
My classmates didn’t dare to go in, but Mommy and I did.
Aren’t we brave?” Abby babbled as she enjoyed the view from Halston’s shoulders, waving her arms joyfully.
“Oh, that’s awesome…” Halston smiled dotingly and turned around to glance at Flossie.
Then, he added, “It’s no surprise that the children she raised are so amazing.” “Daddy, are you saying that Mommy is amazing?” Abby held Halston’s head and asked curiously.
“Of course.” Halston whispered, “I’m sure you and Adie don’t know how amazing your mother is.” He was unsure if the children were aware of Flossie’s glorious past and awesome skills, but he remembered them well.
“Why wouldn’t we know?” Adie overheard their conversation and called out.
He eagerly boasted, “My mommy is a great hacker-she can easily destroy a country’s security system.
Plus, she’s good at fighting, and is ranked first on the wanted list every year.
She’s even the youngest and best scholar of the top college, and participated in the design of a high-end chip too.
She…” Flossie quickly caught up to Adie and covered his mouth, looking embarrassed.
“Adie, you can’t say such things in public.
I’m just an ordinary person; don’t get me in trouble.” Although Adie was telling the truth, Flossie was worried the other parents might think they were crazy if they overheard them.
“Mmph…” Adie struggled out of Flossie’s grip and put his hands on his waist stubbornly.
“I wasn’t lying, Mommy.
You’re awesome, and you taught me how to hack and fight.
Even those few moves I learned were enough to scare Tubby and his family.
That’s proof of how good you are!”
“What? You fought them?” Flossie’s eyes widened in shock.
“Didn’t I tell you to only use those moves in emergencies? You shouldn’t bully the weak.
You’ve let me down.” She was worried that her children would use those skills to bully other children; It would be a piece of cake for Adie to do so given his intelligence and skills.
Adie had always behaved himself and never bullied other children, son Flossie didn’t understand why the situation had become so serious that Adie had to fight others.
“No, I didn’t fight them.
I just taught them a lesson.” Adie raised his chin defiantly.
“I don’t think I did anything wrong!”
“you fought them, but you’re saying you didn’t do anything wrong?” It was the first time Flossie had seen Adie be so rebellious, so naturally, she was furious and worried that he was getting out of her control.
After all, Adie had just graduated from kindergarten.
It was already difficult to handle him compared to other children, but if he always thought he was right even when he did something wrong, it would be harder to educate him once he became a teenager.
“Mommy, I know you would be mad if I fought someone, but I still don’t think I did anything wrong.
If I get into a situation like that again, I would still choose to fight!” Adie put his hands behind his back and lifted his chin stubbornly, refusing to back down.
“T see how it is.
You think you’re all grown up now since you’re going to elementary school, and you can do whatever you like.
Well, I think it’s been a while since you’ve enjoyed a good beating.” While talking, Flossie started looking around.
“Mommy, you can use this.” Abby climbed down from Halston’s shoulders and considerately picked up a small branch for Flossie.
She was very used to this- Flossie would always end the conflict with Adie by beating him, and only then would Adie learn from his mistake and Flossie’s anger would subside.
Adie glared at Abby, gritting his teeth.
“Abby, what a good sister you are!” Abby blinked and held Adie’s hand, trying to persuade him.
“Adie, you shouldn’t have made Mommy mad.
You know how Mommy is when she’s mad.
If you don’t want her to beat you, just admit you were wrong.” “No, I don’t want to!” Adie bit his lip, fighting back tears.
“I didn’t do anything wrong, so why should I say I did? Mommy can just beat me up if she wants to!” Flossie clenched the branch tightly, her anger deepening.
“Adie, do you think I won’t beat you just because there are many people around?” She felt that Adie needed to learn to respect rules.
If she felt sorry for him now, it would be hard to discipline him in the future.
Making up her mind, she raised the branch over Adie’s palm.
When Halston saw that, he gripped Flossie’s wrist.
“I know that you want to show your authority in front of the kids, and I E don’t havea say in it, but…
shouldn’t we listen to Adie first m before we decide to punish king?” “Didn’t you hear him? He fought people and felt it was the right thing to do. What’s there to discuss?” Flossie put her hands on her waist and tried to calm herself.
“Do you know how good he is at fighting now? He can fight a grown man easily.
If he fights his peers, it’s considered bullying.
I don’t care what the reason is, it was om wrong of him to fight!” Halston remained silent but didn’t let go of Flossie’s hand. He turned to Adie and asked him seriously, “Adie, this is a good chance for you to explain.
Why did you fight? Make it clear to us, and I’m sure your mommy won’t be mad anymore.”
Adie’s stubborn expression didn’t change, but finally he turned around and sighed.
