Chapter 691 – A Second Chance with My Billionaire Love

Halston had been silent for a while, but could no longer take it. Gripping Leia’s wrists, he scolded, “You don’t know anything. Outsiders like you can’t understand our relationship. We’re very happy now, so just leave if it bothers you that much.”

Leia glared at Halston. Unable to move her hands, she kicked him instead.

Even though Halston was tall, he still got kicked by Leia. Frustrated, he just gripped her tightly, stopping her from moving.

“Halston, what are you doing?” Xavier had just arrived, and his face went pale when he saw his friend hugging his beloved.

At that moment, both Halston and Leia were struck dumb.

“It’s not what you think.” Halston cleared his throat and let go of Leia awkwardly.

Angry, Leia stepped on Halston.

“How dare you! Are you done?” Halston hissed in pain. He wanted to do the same to Leia but held himself back at the thought of Flossie. It was true that birds of a feather flock together-Flossie was violent, but Leia was even more so. He gazed at Xavier sympathetically and suggested, “You should get insurance.”

“What do you mean?” Xavier blinked, looking confused.

“What do you think? She’s such a fierce woman. Aren’t you afraid of getting attacked?” Halston rubbed his aching body and said grumpily.

“No, Lei is gentle and loving. She won’t beat people up for no reason, so you must have done something to cause this.” At that moment, Xavier chose to take Leia’s side. In the past, he and Leia always fought because of their differing opinions. Leia condemned Halston as a scumbag while Xavier claimed that Flossie was too pretentious, and then they’d argue. However, Xavier had learned his lesson—it was always Halston’s fault.

“Hmph, you got that right.” Leia rarely saw Xavier being sensible, and her anger towards him quickly subsided.

“So… there’s really nothing between the both of you, right?” Xavier asked hesitantly.

“Are you out of your mind? I would rather kill myself than have anything to do with him!” Leia rolled her eyes in disgust as she typed.

“But you once said that he was your Prince Charming!” That statement she had once made had bothered Xavier for ages, and he finally brought it up out of jealousy.

“That’s different! I even said that you were my Prince Charming but you’re just charming on the outside and rotten on the inside!” Leia typed out furiously. “You two are the same, and Flossie and I should just distance ourselves from you both. You were the reason for my bad luck today!”

“Why me?” Xavier shrugged helplessly, wondering why he was being blamed when he wasn’t even there.

“Do you know who threw manure on Flossie and I today?”

“Ugh, who?” Xavier asked, wrinkling his nose in disgust. He wondered who would do something so vulgar to the blind Flossie and mute Leia.

“Your fans and Shirley’s fans, that’s who! Shirley is only offended by me because of you, and that’s the reason her fans bully me! Your fans were just as bad, so I’m guessing they all learned it from the both of you!” Leia typed out her complaint and shot Xavier a glare.

Xavier read the message and looked at her incredulously. “Why are you blaming me? The fans did that to you, so what does it have to do with me? They’re all different people, so how could I possibly control their actions?”

“You’re just making excuses! Don’t you know that idols are always their fans’ role models? Your fans and Shirley’s fans are such fanatics because you both spoiled them. Look at my fans and Mr. Dalton’s fans—they’re very gentle. Two people helped Flossie and I today; one was my fan and the other was Mr. Dalton’s fan. Don’t you see a difference between the fans?”

“I…” Xavier was usually eloquent, but he found it hard to argue with Leia’s logic. Different stars would have fans with different characteristics and actions. Most of Shirley’s fans were hardcore fans, and they seemed to be emulating Shirley. They felt triumphant when they saw how Shirley became a popular actress from being a nobody, but if her status disappeared, her fans would surely be outraged. It would be as if the child they raised with much effort had died, and naturally, they would go berserk.

In comparison, Santiago’s fans were more refined because of his prominent background and famous family. He had always been exceptional even after he joined the entertainment circle. Every part of his life was perfect, and there was almost nothing bad about him. If people saw him as their idol, they would feel much more secure and superior. In short, they were more refined and rational.

Xavier understood it, but he couldn’t figure out why his fans were such fanatics.

“Are you sure my fans were involved in today’s accident?”

Xavier didn’t care about his fame and image. If not for his pursuit of Leia, he would never have exposed himself in front of the media, let alone joined such an awkward reality dating show. He was surprised he had so many fans, but he assumed they’d be laid-back and obedient like him.

However, to his shock, they were reckless and rude.

“You don’t believe me, do you?” Leia found the video and showed it to Xavier. “Listen to what they said. They said you’re handsome, rich, and nice. You’re just the perfect man, and you and Shirley would make the perfect couple. You should protect Shirley forever. It was I, a wicked woman, who ruined your relationship with her. They even scolded Flossie. Oh, I just can’t take it!”

“They scolded my wife?” Halston had been watching their fight calmly, but he immediately straightened when Leia mentioned Flossie. He snatched the phone away from Xavier and watched the video angrily. After a while, his eyes narrowed and he sneered coldly, “Since they were brave enough to do this, I’m sure they’re prepared to face the consequences of their actions.”

“What are you going to do?” Leia turned to Halston and typed, looking at him with interest.

“I’ll find them, then make them kneel and beg for Flossie’s forgiveness.” Halston’s tone was casual, but his gaze was icy and determined.

“That’s more like it.” Leia shot Xavier a disappointed glance.

“What about you? What was your first reaction when your beloved was bullied? But no, it wasn’t your beloved that was bullied, it was her fans that bullied others… No wonder you’re indifferent.”

“You’re jealous?” Xavier suddenly felt happy. It was a long time since he had felt her jealousy, and it meant that she still cared about him.

“I’m jealous?” Leia’s eyes grew wide. Sneering, she typed out, “Over my dead body. Why would I be jealous of you and Shirley? I just think that your way of handling things is different from your best buddy, and it explains why Flossie is obsessed with Halston. But you… Hmph, people will only get disappointed in you!”

“Yes, Halston and I are different, so we handle things differently. He always tries to bargain and argue, and he’s decisive. But taking revenge won’t cool his anger, so it’s better if he doesn’t take revenge at all.” Xavier yanked his tie and continued seriously, “Well, my solution is more rational— I hope you can just ignore them and forget this happened. It won’t affect you, right?”

“Of course you want me to stop fussing over it so your first love will be safe!” Leia felt that Xavier was purposely defending Shirley, and typed on her phone angrily. “I’m not going to let this go. Since there’s a video, we can identify the perpetrators and I’ll make them give Flossie and I an explanation. I’ll also ask Shirley to apologize to us on behalf aof her fans!”

A long sigh escaped Xavier as he read the words Leia typed out. “It’s okay if you want Shirley to apologize to you, but that might just cause more cyberbullying. I think you should just hold the troublemakers responsible for it instead of the idols.”

“Of course you wouldn’t want to involve the idols-you’re one of them. Plus, your first love is involved, so you don’t want to humiliate or trouble her!” Leia had never seen Xavier so concerned about anyone other than Shirley. She would never forgive such a disloyal man.

“If you had even a little bit of sense, you would know who I’m actually worried about.” Xavier felt like he could never win with Leia. Finally, he gave up on trying to prove his innocence and said coldly, “I’ll never let you involve the idols in this.” As the president of Universal Entertainment, he was the capitalist of the entertainment circle, so he knew full well how things worked in that circle. Sometimes, a trend or rumor would push people to a desperate end. There were quite a lot of stars who had been ruined by cyberbullying, and people like Leia and Flossie who weren’t even celebrities wouldn’t be able to endure that kind of thing.

“How dare you threaten me! I’ll do what I want, and there’s nothing you can do about it!” Anger engulfed Leia as she typed on her phone furiously. Although she couldn’t speak, it was obvious she was mad.

Halston felt as if he was in the middle of a battlefield. For the first time, he felt that it was troublesome to be in love. Leia and Xavier were in love with each other, but everything they said to each other was hurtful, and all it did was ruin their relationship. When Halston thought about it, he felt that his relationship with Flossie was pretty good… He was very lucky. At the thought of Flossie, Halston smiled broadly.

Maybe he could enjoy a bath with his dear wife if he went upstairs now. After all, he couldn’t help these two anyway. He quickly turned to leave.

“Halston, you’re a sensible person. What do you think we should do about this?” Xavier stopped Halston to ask for his judgement.

Halston groaned, “Go ahead if you want to fight, but don’t drag me into your mess. I have a good relationship with my wife, and I’ve never had such trouble.”

His words annoyed both Xavier and Leia.

“How can you say that? You can boast about your love life with Flossie, but don’t condemn us. Lei and I are lovey-dovey too,” Xavier protested.

Leia took Xavier’s side, typing some words out. “How could you say that about us? Both you and Flossie are worse than us. Didn’t you have a lot of fights and create a lot of messes?”

“Yeah, your fights are more than I can count. Halston, you were pretty troublesome. Flossie and you were married, but you ignored her. If you were a nice guy right from the start, there wouldn’t have been so many issues.” Xavier’s sharp words made Halston speechless, and he hung his head in defeat.

“That’s different. People will change.’ Flossie had finished her bath at some point, and put a bathroom on as she left the room. She heard Xavier and Leia criticizing Halston from the second floor, and was determined to defend her beloved. The three of them looked up as she appeared, and when they saw Flossie, their faces lit up.

“Flossie, why did you come out alone? Wait there, I’ll come help you.” Halston rushed upstairs, treating Flossie like a newborn.

Both Leia and Xavier also treated Flossie carefully, and didn’t dare say anything harsh to her.

“Flossie, how are you feeling now? Are you feeling sick or unhappy?” Halston guided Flossie to sit in the living room, and Leia quickly went over and held Flossie’s arms in concern.

No, I’m fine. Well, I’ve bumped into a lot of things. It’s just a prank by some childish people. It’s no big deal.” Flossie patted the back of Leia’s hand and tried to reassure her.” You shouldn’t take it to heart, or you’ll be the one suffering. Remember-people like this don’t matter. You don’t have to take it seriously.”

Leia couldn’t understand Flossie’s words, but she felt miserable. “Yeah, you’re right-they’re just nobodies. If I’m sad because of him, I’m the dumbest person in the world.”

Leia assumed that Flossie was talking about Xavier affecting her mood, but Xavier felt Leia to be more generous instead of fussing over such a small matter.

“Did you hearthat? Flossie is so open-minded and mature. It’s just an accident, so there’s no need to get so mad at crazy people like them,” Xavier said to Leia righteously. He knew that Leia would only listen to Flossie because she saw her as her spiritual guide and idol. She would always obey Flossie, even if Flossie asked her to do something outrageous, so Xavier figured it would be most effective to ask Flossie to talk some sense into her.
