Xavier looked over at her and smiled. “I didn’t expect you to have a deep and cynical side considering how carefree and optimistic you usually are.”

Leia didn’t respond, but tears rolled down her cheeks like shooting stars in the sky. “Do you think everyone is like you? You have the looks, but you’re not a deep thinker at all. Don’t you know that people will get emotional when they see breathtaking views like this?”

“Hey, princess, why are you shedding pearls?” To Xavier, Leia was more beautiful than the stars in the sky. He laid on his side and gently wiped away her tears. “Don’t shed pearls so easily. It makes me sad.”

Leia huffed and turned to him angrily. “Why do you always have to ruin the mood? Can you stop it with the cheesy lines?”

“I’m serious.” Xavier looked at her fervently under the bright stars. “I feel happy when I see you, and sad when I don’t. I nearly went mad when I saw you get close to Santiago. Do you think I’m joking?”

Leia pursed her lips and didn’t dare to look at him because she didn’t know what to say. They had been playing this game of cat and mouse for a very long time, and when they had finally became a couple, they had quickly broken up with each other because of a conflict. The stress of it weighed heavily on Leia, and she didn’t know how to handle such an unstable relationship.

“I really don’t know you…” Leia sighed deeply and added,” Why do you have to pester me every time I decide to move on? When I wanted to get to know you better, you acted like you didn’t care at all. Do you think it’s fun to play me for a fool and mess with my mind again and again?”

“I didn’t do any of those things…” Xavier protested, feeling wronged.

“You didn’t?” Leia clenched her fists and asked him hoarsely, “What about Shirley? How are you going to settle your relationship with her? You wavered between Shirley and I when I wanted to be with you, so why should I have to go through that pain again?” Her enthusiasm and passion had quickly faded when he couldn’t commit.

“Yes, I didn’t handle it maturely back then, but things are different now. I just want to know… Do you still like me?” Xavier asked nervously, waiting for her answer with bright eyes.

“I…” Leia bit her lip, feeling conflicted. To be honest, she didn’t know how she felt about Xavier now. Maybe some of those feelings were still there, but their brief relationship had been rocky and unpredictable. On the other hand, Santiago’s gentle warmth always put her at ease, and she could even imagine having a family with him.

If something did happen between her and Santiago during this filming period, she would choose him over Xavier, without a doubt.

Xavier was like the sun, passionate and magnetic, but she’d get burned if she got too close. Santiago, meanwhile, gentle and reassuring like the moon. She could imagine being in a deep and lasting relationship with him.

Leia took a deep breath. “Xavier, actually, I-” However, before she could say anything, Xavier stopped her with a kiss, as if he knew what she was going to say.

“Mmph!” Angry, she tried to push him away, but it was the first time he was kissing her so softly and tenderly. She could feel his humility and nervousness in the careful way that he kissed her, as if he was begging her not to refuse him … For some reason, Leia stopped fighting him and pushing him away, and hesitantly started responding to his kisses. No woman would have been able to refuse such an alluring and captivating man.

Xavier’s large hands caressed her skin gently, and Leia’s body burned underneath his touch.

“Your answer isn’t important… What matters is that you’re by my side,” Xavier murmured hoarsely as he stared at the woman beneath him. She looked at him dazedly, her lips red from his kisses.

“You’re cunning, Xavier. You’re so good at manipulating women’s hearts… I hate you!” Leia’s pupils were dilated with desire, and she was frustrated with herself for giving in to him.

“Go ahead and hate me then; it’s better than you ignoring me. ” Xavier smirked victoriously and kissed her again. In a matter of seconds, the both of them were lost in a haze of passion with the starry sky as their backdrop.

Suddenly, someone tried to open the door.

“Huh? We could enter just now, right? Why is the door locked now?” It was Megan. She was feeling a little hot after dancing, so she wanted to wash her face in the cottage.

“Knock on the door. Maybe there’s someone in there,” Santiago suggested. He had been feeling lonely watching everyone enjoying themselves earlier, so he had gone to Leia’s villa to chat with her. However, he couldn’t find Leia in her villa, and Xavier had also gone missing, so he figured they might be together. Concerned, he had gone to the cottage with Megan.

“Stop!” When Leia heard Santiago’s voice, she came to her senses and grabbed Xavier’s wandering hand. She didn’t want Santiago to find out she was with Xavier. “What are we doing? We can’t do this…”

“Why not?” Xavier demanded, having already taken off his shirt.

Xavier leaned close to Leia’s ear and whispered teasingly,” Are you sure you want me to open the door for them now?”

“No!” Leia shook her head vigorously and grabbed his arms, stopping him from moving. “I’ll kill you if you make a sound!” She’d be doomed if Santiago saw her in bed with Xavier like this. She didn’t want things with Santiago to end so soon. She knew it was selfish of her, but she couldn’t help it…

Humans were greedy by nature.

“Is there someone in there? We’re coming in if not!” Megan knocked more forcefully, and the fragile door looked like it was on the verge of breaking.

Leia held her breath and clung to Xavier, shutting her eyes tight and wondering how she had gotten into this mess.

Though he was feeling uneasy, Xavier couldn’t help but be amused by Leia’s guilty expression. Feeling cheeky, he decided to tickle her armpits.

“Ah! Haha!” Leia burst out laughing, then immediately clamped her mouth shut in horror. However, been done as the two people outside the cottage had heard her.

“Who’s in there? Can you say something? I would like to use this cottage!” Megan called out.

Flabbergasted, Leia covered her mouth and glared at Xavier, who was grinning mischievously.

“Forget it. Let’s go since there’s someone in there. Don’t trouble them,” Santiago said finally.

“Okay, Mr. Dalton.” Although Megan was reluctant to give up, she left with Santiago.

A sigh of relief escaped Leia when she heard their footsteps fade. After that, she punched Xavier hard and hissed, “Are you out of your mind? Why would you do that?”

“Everyone knows about our relationship, so why is it so embarrassing that you were alone in a room with me?” Xavier said unhappily, knowing that Leia just didn’t want Santiago to find out. As far as Xavier was concerned, he and Leia were a couple, so he couldn’t understand why Leia was acting like she was cheating on Santiago. He had never experienced this dynamic in a relationship before, and it was certainly quite humbling.

“Yes, it’s embarrassing! I don’t want to have anything to do with you!” Leia pushed him away and smoothed down her clothes. She was wondering how she should explain it to Santiago later… or whether she should explain it or not.

“Is that pretty boy so important to you? Don’t tell me you’ve taken a fancy to him!” Xavier scoffed as he watched her get off the bed.

“It’s none of your business.” Leia turned to look at him challengingly. “If you can enjoy the best of both worlds, why can’t I?” After that, she snuck out of the cottage using the side door.

Watching her leave, Xavier chuckled bitterly. “I’ve never done that to you, silly girl.”

After Leia left from the side door of the cottage, she purposely took the long way around the beach before coming to the outdoor barbecue area. Everyone was excited to see her.

“Leia, there you are. We’ve been waiting for you!” Luna and Leia had become good friends because their houses were next to each other. Luna had tried to persuade Leia to come to the barbecue earlier, but Leia had refused, so she was happy to see her now.

“Hi! Yeah, I figured everyone would think I’m pretentious if I didn’t show up,” Leia laughed awkwardly, feeling guilty.

“Haha! That’s right-the more, the merrier. By the way, Mr. Dalton has been roasting chicken wings for you all night because he knows how much you like them,” Megan said, sounding slightly jealous as she gestured at the rows of chicken wings on the grill. “Thanks to Mr. Dalton, you get to pick from wings with New Orleans sauce, honey sauce, salt and pepper, and so on… If only we were so lucky!”

Leia looked at Santiago, feeling touched. At the same time, she felt guilty. “You’ve been working hard, Mr. Dalton. I should be the one roasting the chicken wings for you.” She walked over to Santiago and picked up a basting brush, trying to add more sauce to the chicken wings.

“Be careful!” Santiago noticed that she was too close to the fire, and quickly stood in front of her. He winced as sparks from the fire fell on the back of his hand.

“Ah! Are you okay, Mr. Dalton? You can’t afford to have scars on your hands, it would ruin your modeling jobs!” Megan gasped, feeling bad for Santiago.

“Mr. Dalton, are… are you okay?” Leia asked fearfully.

“It’s okay. I’ll just wash it, it should be fine.” Santiago frowned when he saw the burn, then walked to a sink nearby.

Leia followed him, looking like a guilty child, and whispered,” Mr. Dalton, are… are you mad at me?”

Santiago turned on the tap and let the cold water run on the back of his hand. He smiled at her and said lightly, “I want to be mad at you… but I can’t, and I don’t have the right to do so either.”

Leia glanced at him and asked hesitantly, “So, you… know what happened just now?”

Santiago turned around and looked at her intently. “What do I know?”

“No, it’s nothing.” Leia immediately looked away, feeling ashamed when she met his clear gaze.

“I figured you were stargazing at the beach just now. I actually wanted to invite you to take a walk on the beach…” Santiago smiled sadly. “But it seems I was too late.”

“No, you’re not.” Leia immediately looked up at the starry sky and said excitedly, “Look! All the stars are out now, so we can enjoy the view together if you want.”

“Really?” Santiago stared at Leia with bright eyes. “Yes, we can go right now!”
