Chapter 44 – Maleah The Angel Of Death Novel

Filed to story: Maleah The Angel Of Death Novel

Mack and I get a lot of stares as we walk into the dining room, and it has everything to do with his hand on my lower back; only power-hungry females or a female that feels a connection would allow a male to touch her like that.

Our Wolves and Lycans won’t like it if another male than our Mate touches us, but as a designer and a business woman, I have learned to deal with it, and Fortune no longer growls and snarls out loud when it happens.

“I am surprised you haven’t bitten my Son’s head off yet, Maleah,” Colter asks, and I smile at him when I hear Mack growl softly.

“It seems that every male thinks a female can’t find her way to her seat if they don’t guide her, and I have become accustomed to it by now,” I answer him as I sit down in my seat, and I see Elyse smile as some Pack-members are murmuring.

“Or the lack of having a Wolf,” Nightmare comments, and her friends start laughing.

“Stop hiding me; let’s see if they will keep laughing,” Fortune growls in my head, and without wasting a second, I allow everyone to feel Fortune’s presence.

I get up to walk towards the source of my annoyance, but Dad blocks my way, and I can see Timber pushing forward to see his Pup in my eyes for the first time. He only saw us in our Lycan form, but never were they able to see their Pup as a part of me, and I can feel the bond between Timber and Fortune form.

Normally this bond would have formed after the first time I shifted, but with me keeping it a secret, Dad and Timber had to wait until today, and even though Fortune and I want to teach Nightmare a lesson, we will focus on Dad and Timber first.

I walk into Dad’s open arms as I feel Timber reaching out to Fortune, and I forget about everything and everyone around me, feeling how the bond between the four of us becomes stronger.

“Thank you, my Daughters, for giving me this chance. I have felt incomplete ever since we found out you were there, Fortune,” Timber says to us in my head, and he slowly withdraws from our bond, leaving me in the arms of Dad.

“Thank you, Sweetheart. Now, go do what you set out to do,” he whispers in my ear before he lets me go and steps to the side for me to continue to walk towards Nightmare.

“Fortune still doesn’t like it when males touch us; we believe that right is reserved for our Mate. She still snarls and growls in my head when a male touches us, but she gave up on doing it out loud, and I can guarantee you that if I hadn’t made her see it meant nothing, half our population would be dead.

I am giving you a small warning: STAY THE FUCK AWAY FROM MY MATE.” Everyone can tell that the last part was a combination of my voice and Fortune’s voice, and the females at the table look rather pale from feeling Fortune’s presence.

“Angel, calm down. I think even the Warriors on border patrol heard you,” I hear next to my ear as Mack slides his arms around my waist. Fortune growls softly at him, but he can tell she isn’t mad at him.

“Want to sleep alone tonight, Big Boy?” Fortune says teasingly, and next thing I know, he lifts me up bridal style to sit down in his seat.

“I’ll just hold onto you until morning,” Mack growls back at her, and I giggle when she tells him to enjoy an afternoon of dress talk.

“Luna Elyse, I will be sitting in on your meeting. I am not letting go of my Mate until tomorrow morning,” Mack says loud enough for everyone to hear, and most of the

Pack-members in the dining room start cheering, but I see a worried look on Dillon’s face.

“Fuck, we screwed up. We were supposed to keep this hidden a little while longer, Mack,” I say through the mind-link, and he looks from me to everyone around us before he shrugs his shoulders.

“I don’t care who knows or who tells your Mother; there isn’t anything she or anyone else can do about it, and the first one that makes a wrong remark is going to regret it,” he says, and I can tell that he really doesn’t care about who might tell my Mom, because whoever tells her is going to pay.

During the rest of lunch, Nightmare and her friends keep glaring in our direction, and from time to time I feel Fortune pushing forward.

Mack and Commander are too focused on us to either notice their glares or they just act as if they don’t see it, but the female that is after Levi keeps smiling and winking at him, and Fortune has had just about enough of it.

“Angel, what is wrong? It feels as if you are about to explode,” Mack asks, and I tell him about the female I warned Levi about. He slowly moves me in his lap to be able to watch the table next to ours, and it only takes minutes before I can feel that he and Commander are getting agitated.

Maleah’s p.o.v.

Suddenly Dillon gets up from his seat, and the look on his face doesn’t predict much good. “It seems that it is very difficult for some Pack-members to accept that there are males that want to wait for a true Mate-bond. Our leadership will be having their meals up on the Alpha floor as of today, and I warn each and every one of you to stay away from us.

Our Lycans don’t feel a connection to any of the females in this Pack, and we have made that very clear every time one of them turned eighteen. I hate that we have to keep repeating ourselves, and I had hoped it wouldn’t come to this, but apparently it is very difficult for some to accept that we will never take a chosen mate.

We all want a true Mate-bond like Mack and Maleah, and I hope that one day soon we will be able to have our meals with the rest of our Pack again, but that won’t happen until the day our entire leadership has found their true Mate-bond,” Dillon says.

I see a lot of mated Pack-members giving the females a glare, because everyone knows which females he was talking about, and I am glad I won’t get faced with them on a daily basis anymore; Fortune might have killed a few of them before they would have grown a brain.

We all get up as an Omega walks over to the table and starts piling the empty dishes on a tray; we thank her for clearing the table before we start walking out of the dining room.

Fortune pushes forward to step next to Levi, and in the process, she bumps into his Stalker. “Oh, sorry. I didn’t realize I hit you that hard,” Fortune says as she looks down at the female, but I know she knew exactly what she was doing, and she had every intention of knocking the female down.

“Levi, can you help me up?” she asks as she holds out her hand, and I smell the distinct scent of Dussive in the air.
