Chapter 41 – Maleah The Angel Of Death Novel

“How long do you think it will take her to finally reject you? A Wolfless female isn’t a match for a male like you.”

“Alpha Dominic asked you a question, and I suggest you answer him,” Maleah says as she gets off my lap, and the Sigma looks at her with a bored look on her face.

“And what are you going to do about it?” she asks Maleah with a smirk on her face.

Maleah walks over to the chair she is sitting in, and I can tell from the look on her face that Maleah is releasing her aura, but I can also see that Maleah isn’t using it to its full potential.

“Have you ever witnessed my Father or Colter using their aura?” Maleah asks, and the Sigma says she has seen them use it on Wolves and Lycans; Maleah asks her if she has ever seen me use my aura. The Sigma confirms that she has seen it.

“Which aura was the strongest?” Maleah asks, and I already know that the Sigma will be pointing at me, which she does the moment I have thought it.

“Guess what. Their auras are child’s play compared to mine, and you are going to find out how much stronger my aura is,” Maleah says.

“You all better back off, or you might find yourselves peeing your pants,” Maleah warns the rest of us through the mind-link, and the moment they take a few steps back, she releases her aura slowly.

“The moment you are ready to talk, just raise your hand,” Maleah says to the Sigma, and the smug look slowly disappears from the Sigma’s face as Maleah lets her aura seep out more and more, suffocating the room with it.

“Fuck, she better raise her hand quickly before I end up on my knees,” I hear Levi growl.

I see that Kay is in the same situation, and our Alphas aren’t far behind them; I am the only one that doesn’t seem to be affected by her aura.

“We are her Mate; our auras don’t affect the other. You can be standing next to her without feeling any discomfort,” Commander says, and I decide to just watch from a distance, let the Sigma understand that she is at Maleah’s mercy. Not that she was showing the Sigma any mercy; if anything, she was pushing her self-control.

I don’t think I have ever seen an Assassin this much in control of their aura, and I have seen a lot of Assassins at work in my life; I think I can look at this every day and never get tired of it.

I see that Levi and Kay are struggling to keep standing, while the Sigma is nearly pressed to the floor, and I fear both my friends will be on their knees before the Sigma will raise her hand. Luckily for my friends, she couldn’t take anymore of Maleah’s aura and she tried to raise her hand, which in this case was lifting her hand about an inch off the floor.

Mack’s p.o.v.

Kay stumbles back the moment Maleah pulls her aura back in, and I see shock on the faces of our Alphas; even I didn’t know an Assassin could pull back their aura that fast.

Dad taught me to pull it back slowly to avoid getting dizzy or disoriented, but it doesn’t seem to affect Maleah at all, and I think I understand why no one ever heard any of her victims cry for help.

“I believe you owe Alpha Dominic an answer,” Maleah says as she steps back, and Dominic steps forward to repeat his question.

She glances at Maleah before she tells him she got offered a lot of money for the Pups; all she had to do was make sure they were dropped at a certain spot in the forest, and the rest would be taken care of. None of them had counted on Fortune being out there or for Maleah to have the gifts she has.

“How often have you done this?” Maleah asks, and I am glad I was keeping an eye on the Sigma, or I might have missed the slight paling of her face.

“You want another taste of my aura?” Maleah asks when the Sigma keeps quiet, and that seems to be enough for her to start talking again. We find out it was the first time for her, but not the first time someone working at the orphanage was approached, and we find out that on at least two other occasions the drop had been successful.

Levi is writing down everything she is telling us, and I know he will look into this until he has uncovered which Pups were sold; he will even try to find out if they are still alive. If they are still alive, we will do everything to rescue them and bring them back to the Pack, giving them all the help they need from us.

Maleah has been quiet as the Sigma was talking, and just as Levi gets ready to take the Sigma back to the dungeons, Maleah turns back to the Sigma. “How did they contact you?” she asks.

“I got a phone call from an unknown number, and at first I didn’t answer, but after they called for the third time, I answered the call. They told me I could make easy money. If I wanted to hear about the offer, I had to go to Wolfpine; I would meet a female at a diner there, and she would explain what I had to do to get paid. Her name was Nishay, and at first I was reluctant, until she told me that they would have a good life,” the Sigma says.

Levi gets the unknown number from her phone before he brings her back to the dungeons. This is going to be a tough decision for our Alphas; she failed in her attempt to sell four Pups, and technically she hadn’t committed a crime.

She did leave four young Pups to fend for themselves, but other than that she failed in what she wanted to do, and I am not sure what my decision would be if I had to make it.

“You will return to the dungeons, and you will remain there until we know what happened to the other Pups that were sold. If you want us to show you some leniency, I suggest you think hard about who sold the other Pups, and I don’t care if you are doubtful about their identity; you better tell us who you suspect of selling those Pups,” Dominic growls before two Warriors walk in and haul her off to the dungeons again; he will make her wait to find out her punishment.

Once the door closes behind them, Maleah walks back to me, and I wrap my arms around her as she buries her face in my neck. “Take your time, Angel. They can ask their questions later,” I say to her as I give a small shake with my head, and I know they understand that Maleah needs time to calm down.

“I will put some Scouts on this; I want to know what happened to those Pups, and if Maleah is right about the business the Dayborne Brothers and the Bornshade Sisters are involved in, I fear the worst for those Pups,” Levi says.

“And don’t get me started on how we are going to explain this to your Mother,” he continues as he looks at our Alphas, and all three of them pale when he mentions Elyse; she will be devastated to find out what might have happened to some of the Pups. Pups she thought had found a new home, a family to love and care for them, and we had to tell her that those Pups might be dead by now.

“I am not volunteering for that task,” Commander says.
