“Commander and I agree that you look gorgeous no matter what,” I tell her as I walk towards her, and I wrap my arms around her waist as I lean down to kiss her, sliding my hands to her ass to press her closer to my body.
The moment she touches my arm, we both jump apart. “Did you feel that?” Maleah asks as she looks at her hand, and slowly she moves it towards my arm again.
I watch her hand reaching for my arm, and the moment she touches me, I feel the same sparks I felt a moment earlier; Maleah starts moving her hand up my arm, and everywhere she touches me I feel sparks.
“This feels amazing,” she mumbles as I place my hand on her cheek, and her eyes widen as we feel the sparks ignite; it seems our bond is already in place, but I will wait until Commander and Fortune confirm it to us.
“Tonight we will let Commander and Fortune spend some time together; they will be able to tell us if the bond is completed. If it is, I can promise you that you will be mine by morning, my Angel,” I whisper in her ear as I enjoy the sparks that run across my body where her hands are touching me, and after a few more minutes I step away from her to let her finish with her morning routine.
I hand her the journal before we walk out the door, and I am surprised to see Diego waiting for us.
“We need to act as if you came to get us this morning; some of Tara’s old friends are asking questions,” he says before we walk towards the Pack-house, and I can see a few females on the front porch, each of them staring at Maleah.
“Are you sure you can’t tell me just a tiny bit about the outfits for the Spring Ball?” I ask, and Maleah looks at me.
“Which Alpha sent you, Mack?” she asks, and I can tell she isn’t really mad at me.
I raise my hands as I tell her they are just curious. “Well, you can tell them that Luna Elyse asked for a very feminine outfit,” is her response. “If you have a brain up there, Head Assassin, you might remember what the favorite color of most females is.”
My jaw drops not only from what she is implicating but also because she sounds so damn condescending, and I watch the smirk on Diego’s face grow as she places a hand on her hip.
“You have got to be kidding me, Miss D’Angelo,” I say, and every head around us snaps in Maleah’s direction.
“Did no one know that Maleah and Miss D’Angelo are the same person?” I ask Diego through the mind-link, and I know he is wondering about the same thing as I am: why did Tara never mention this to anyone?
“Do you think I would be kidding about my designs or the wishes of my clientele, Head Assassin?” Maleah asks, and Commander is rolling around in my head.
“Fuck, you better make sure you never piss off our Mate,” he says before laughing his ass off again. I decide to end this conversation before she bites my head off.
“Point taken, Miss D’Angelo. I will tell them you are bound by designer-client confidentiality,” I say before I guide her up the steps to the front door.
Maleah’s p.o.v.
I recognized the females on the front porch as friends of my Mother; I am surprised about the question Mack shoots my way, but Fortune knows exactly how we should respond, and I love the fact that he is willing to play along.
It leaves me with a question though, the moment I realize that my Mother never told her friends that her Daughter and Miss D’Angelo are one and the same person.
Mack guides me into the Pack-house as Dad steps beside me, and the moment we step into the main dining room, I see Mack’s biggest nightmare – not that she is just his biggest nightmare. He told me over the mind-link that she is after every member of our leadership; she doesn’t care which one she ends up with as long as he is a High-ranking Lycan, and I see her giving me a death glare.
“As if we are impressed by that; I have seen more impressive looks in the past. If someone thinks that is going to scare us away from our Mate, they should get their head examined,” Fortune growls in my head, and I smile as I walk towards Elyse.
“Good morning, Luna Elyse,” I greet her as she pulls me in for a hug, and through the mind-link I tell her what happened outside. “Don’t tell me that my Sons sent Mack to find out the color of my outfit for the Spring Ball,” she says as she looks at Mack.
“Sorry, Mom. We just want to match your outfit; you always complain that we never match,” Dax says as he pulls out my chair, and like last night I am seated between Dax and Mack, his leg pressed against mine.
Nightmare, as Mack calls her, walks to our table and she stops next to Luna Elyse. “Luna, why would a nobody know the color of your outfit for the Spring Ball?” Nightmare asks, and I hear our entire leadership growl as I slowly get up.
“Let me ask you a question, and if you don’t know the answer, maybe one of your friends can help you out because combined you might have enough brain cells to figure this out. Who is the most famous designer in the world?” I ask, and I see the anger flashing in her eyes.
“Miss D’Angelo is the most famous designer in the world,” Nightmare answers.
“Very good. Do you know what my last name is?” I reply.
She looks over her shoulder at her friends, but all of them shrug their shoulders; she turns back to me, and I ask her if she knows his last name as I point at my Father. “That is Diego D’Angelo, one of our Assassins,” Nightmare answers, and I keep looking at her to see if it finally sinks in, but I am afraid I will be waiting till doomsday before it registers.
“Yeah, and he also happens to be my Father. So here comes the question again, what is my last name?” I ask.
Most Pack-members seem to understand where I am going, and some are even laughing their asses off, but in Nightmare’s case, the lights are on but no one’s home.
“Okay, let me spell this out for you in a way that you can understand this. My last name is D’Angelo, and that means that I am Miss D’Angelo, the most famous designer in the world,” I say, and it takes a few moments before she turns towards Luna Elyse, who is more than willing to confirm what I just said.
