“Not at all!” Xavier calmly added, “You chose this. I just asked you to get fitter since you couldn’t defeat me, but you chose to insult me. Who’s the one going overboard here?”

Leia was speechless in anger. She felt like a pet for his amusement.

“Maybe I’ll let you have my phone if you use another method,” Xavier purred as he leaned down, waving his phone in Leia’s face annoyingly.

Leia flexed her fingers and gritted her teeth. “What kind of method?”

“Call me Darling!” Xavier grinned wickedly.

Leia’s eyes widened in rage, and she grabbed Xavier’s neck. “I’m sorry, I can’t call you Darling… but you can call me Dad!”

Leia’s grip was strong, and Xavier was leaning down, so he lost his balance and tumbled to the floor with Leia. His phone slid across the floor as their limbs tangled.

“Call me Dad, you brat!” Leia snarled, her desire to win outweighing her desire to check his phone.

“Alright, I get it, you’re strong! Let go of me!” Xavier gasped. He tried to stand up but Leia was wrapping her arms around his neck and pressing on his legs. It was an intimate position, and he couldn’t move at all. Comtent from NóvelDrama!!

“Oh, you’re begging for mercy now? Weren’t you making fun of me earlier? You even wanted me to call you Darling. Don’t you have many darlings already? Can you really handle all of them?” Leia sneered.

“Umm… Am I disturbing something?” Flossie cleared her throat awkwardly. “Do you guys need a room? There are empty rooms upstairs. Rolling around on the floor like this is… a bit too much.”

Flossie was having fun teasing them. Leia had always been focused on Flossie’s love affairs, so Flossie was the same with Leia. Leia was close to Santiago, and hadn’t spoken to Xavier in a long time. Besides, they only ever argued like friends when they met. However, Flossie knew Leia hadn’t forgotten about Xavier, and only pretended to be indifferent around him. After Flossie saw them together on the floor, she knew for certain that they both still had feelings for each other.

Leia jumped away from Xavier instantly, smoothing her hair and adjusting her clothes as if she had been caught doing something indecent. She wished the ground would just open up and swallow her. “It’s not what you think, Flossie! I just wanted to beat him up because he was being annoying, that’s all,” Leia explained, blushing.

“I understand.” Flossie nodded and patted Leia’s shoulders reassuringly. “We all know beating is a sign of affection. Just don’t love him too much…

‘That’s not it! I just wanted to grab-Leia blurted out, but quickly stopped herself. Flossie might get upset if she heard Xavier was spying for Halston or if she read Halston’s reply.

“What were you trying to grab?” Flossie asked curiously. She had no idea that she was one step away from Xavier’s phone.

“No, I wasn’t…” Leia touched her nose guiltily and looked around, not daring to look at Flossie. “Just go and have fun with others. I haven’t beat Xavier up yet. We’ll come back once we’re done.”

“Something’s not right.” Flossie frowned and pointed at Leia. “You’re keeping something from me, aren’t you?”

“No way! We’re besties, so we share everything. Why would I hide something from you?”

“You are.” Flossie knew Leia well. When Leia lied, she would touch her nose and not meet Flossie’s eyes. Since Leia looked so guilty, she must be hiding something big from Flossie.

‘Let me see… What were you trying to grab?” Flossie racked her brain for a while, then she grinned. “Oh, I know. I’m sure you want to grab the opportunity to have Xavier’s child, right?”

Leia and Xavier stared at Flossie, too stunned to speak.

“That must be it,” Flossie said in satisfaction. “You both can’t let go of each other, and no one wants to give in. One is close to Santiago and the other is entangled with Shirley, but you both want something more from this. Then, something unexpected happened… You went to the hospital for a check-up, and found out that you’re pregnant with Xavier’s child. You lied to Xavier and told him that the child is Santiago’s to anger him, and told him you’re keeping the child. Xavier became furious when he heard that, and that was why you both got into a fight…

Leia and Xavier sat there in stunned silence.

“No wonder you’ve been going to the hospital without telling me-you’re pregnant. That’s great!” Flossie said excitedly, proud of herself for figuring it out.

Leia complained helplessly, ‘Sis, that sounds more like you and Halston. Stop reading so many romance novels. Nobody gets pregnant and runs away anymore, and anyway, that isn’t my style.”

*Pftt! Haha!” Unable to hold back any longer, Xavier burst out laughing. “How could you come up with such a story? Well, you’re certainly a perfect match for that arrogant Halston. You guys should get back together, I’ve missed watching the melodrama.

“I’m wrong?” Flossie sighed in disappointment. “Your relationship is too dull. You should deepen your relationship through torture and misery… by having a baby. I promise that your relationship will improve by leaps and bounds.” She never felt that there was something wrong with their relationship-it just was too smooth. However, they always ended up fighting because of a small miscommunication, then their feelings would start to fade. Their relationship wasn’t strong enough right now.

“You have two kids with Halston, but did your relationship get better?’ Leia bit out in frustration.

“I…” Flossie couldn’t argue with that. Her love life was a mess, so she had no right to advise others. “I was just joking. I’m sorry!” She felt awkward and insecure. She had tried her best to save her relationship, but couldn’t do anything in the end.

‘I’m sorry, Flossie. I didn’t mean that,” Leia said regretfully, seeing Flossie’s awkwardness. She felt like slapping herself. “I just didn’t want you to get the wrong idea about Xavier and my relationship because I don’t want to get entangled with him. You’re right-a normal relationship would get better with kids, but it isn’t our fault that we didn’t meet normal men…. It’s their fault!’ Leia smoothly shifted the blame to Xavier.

Xavier put both hands in his pockets and scoffed, “You don’t have to comfort her-she and Halston are both idiots when it comes to romance. They’re worse than kindergarten kids!”

“Xavier!” Leia turned around and glared at Xavier in disbelief. “Are you out of your mind? How could you say that about Flossie?”

Xavier remained silent as he walked forward, then bent down and picked up his phone from the floor. He handed it to Flossie. “Do you want to see it?”

Flossie looked at Xavier’s phone, puzzled. “What am I supposed to be looking at?”

“Well…’

Xavier was about to speak, but Leia grabbed his phone before he could explain. “It’s just his new girlfriend. Ignore him!”

Leia didn’t know what Halston’s response was, but Flossie was probably better off not reading it. She easily unlocked his phone since his password hadn’t changed since they dated. She opened his Facebook messages, and clicked on Halston’s profile picture. To her surprise, there was no reply from Halston-only Xavier’s message was there. After leaving Halston’s chat, she saw a message from Shirley which Xavier hadn’t read yet. Leia bit her lip nervously, and at last, her curiosity got the better of her as she clicked on Xavier’s chat with Shirley. The chat was filled with Shirley’s messages, with only a few perfunctory replies from Xavier. Leia read Shirley’s newest message: [Are you free? I’m drunk at Rosy Bar. Can you come pick me up?] Leia felt uneasy wondering what Xavier would reply.

“Hey! Why are you looking at my phone?” Xavier stared at his phone and said meaningfully, “That’s something only a girlfriend can do. Don’t you know that?”

“Who’s looking at your phone? I… I just accidentally saw it. You can have it back!” Leia shoved Xavier’s phone into his hand, then grabbed Flossie’s hand and said, “Let’s go, Flossie. Everyone is waiting for us!”

“Are you sure you two don’t want to talk it out?” Flossie looked at Leia, then glanced at Xavier. They were both stubborn and arrogant, seemingly waiting for the other to give in first.

“There’s nothing to talk about. He’s got endless women waiting to chat with him… We won’t get our turns!” Leia scoffed, unable to keep the jealousy out of her voice. Xavier was infamous as a ladies’ man, and Shirley was the one who pestered him the most. Even if Shirley was out of the picture, there would still be other women texting him. Leia couldn’t handle them all, and had no right to do so either.

“Wait!” Xavier watched Leia’s stiff figure, and pursed his lips as he handed his phone to her. “If you don’t like it, you can delete all the women in my contacts.”

Leia widened her eyes in disbelief as she looked at Xavier. “H-… Why should I do that? I-*

“I said that’s the right of a girlfriend,’ Xavier said confidently, lifting his chin. “What do you think? Do you want to delete them? Say something, girlfriend.”

Leia blushed and glanced at the phone, not knowing if she should take it.

“Yes, just delete it!” Flossie snatched the phone for Leia’s sake and placed it on Leia’s hand. She leaned close to Leia and whispered teasingly, “I think he’s got a lot of women in his contacts. I think you both will take all night to get it done.”

“Flossie, he’s just being childish. Why are you teasing me like this?” Leia sighed awkwardly.

“Okay, I’ll stop joking about you. It’s rare for him to give in. Just go with it…” Flossie hugged Leia and whispered,” Trust me when a player wants to get rid of all his other women for you, it means that he’s sincere. Just give him a chance!” Then, Flossie said to Xavier, “And you should be loyal to her. Stop being a ladies’ man. Don’t you know being in a relationship means being exclusive?”

“I know.” Xavier nodded. “I’ll be careful from now on.” After all, he didn’t want him and Leia to go through as much trouble as Halston and Flossie. He wanted a calm and smooth life.

“Okay, you both talk. I’ll go.” Flossie didn’t want to be a third wheel, so she left.

The atmosphere grew awkward after Flossie left. Leia smoothed her hair and said casually, “I know you were just lying so Flossie wouldn’t notice Halston didn’t text you back. I won’t take it seriously.” Leia pretended to be indifferent, but she actually cared.

“I’m not as considerate as you think,” Xavier said in amusement. “I meant what I said-I’ll give you the right to control my social circle… You can do whatever you want with my contacts.”

“No, I don’t want to.” Leia’s expression was solemn as she returned the phone to Xavier. It was as if she had rejected his suggestion of getting back together. Xavier’s expression was casual, but disappointment filled him.

“But I’m curious…. What will you tell her?’ Leia asked finally.

Xavier’s eyes lit up again. “Are you talking about Shirley’s text?”

“Hmph!” Leia crossed her arms and nodded arrogantly.

“Okay, I’ll text her back now.” Flattered, Xavier quickly clicked on his chat with Shirley, and typed out a message. [ I’ll only pick up my girlfriend. Please mind your conduct.]
