She despised underachieving students.

Anthony abruptly stopped and turned to give Ms. Watson an angry look.

“What do you think we should do about Ms. Watson, Mr. Lane?”

Ms. Watson felt her heart sink.

What?

Is he blaming me for all of this?!

All she did was stand her ground. What was wrong with that?

Why are the Crawfords taking it out on me?

Ms. Watson was outraged but remained steadfast in her belief that the problem wasn’t as significant as it seemed.

After all, she was the most esteemed foreign language teacher in the school!

Animaux Private Academy relied on her to outperform their rival, North City Public School.

Mr. Lane, the headmaster, was going to keep her on board even if he agreed with Anthony. It was all just a facade, after all.

Mr. Lane, who had been trying to blend into the background, finally had no choice but to step forward. “Ms. Watson was also at fault for punishing a student without a valid reason. She will face disciplinary action.”

Ms. Watson could hardly believe what she was hearing. “I am simply fulfilling my duty as a teacher! I administer punishments because I have a responsibility to help them improve!”

“Your students are punished without cause and treated differently based on their grades,” Anthony coldly interjected.

“Posting students’ grades on the blackboard to openly discriminate and discourage them.”

“Is that what you consider taking responsibility?”

“What students become outstanding without a teacher’s reprimand? This is all for their own good! Frankly speaking, aren’t you doing this to me because of Lilly? You are all terrible people!” Ms. Watson grew increasingly agitated.

“Oh, really?” Anthony smirked.

He had already instructed Charlie to investigate the foreign language teacher.

Charlie began reading the details of the investigation aloud, “Two years ago, Ms. Watson attempted to bribe the head of the department with gifts and faced disciplinary action.”

“Since September of last year, Ms. Watson has been using her position to refer students to off-campus tutoring classes, for which she receives referral fees.”

Anthony maintained his steely gaze on the teacher.

“It’s fine if Mr. Lane chooses not to take action against a teacher like you. I will take this matter elsewhere.”

“I will also reconsider my investment in the school.”

Why would he be so generous as to donate to the school? It was an act of charity, yes, but realistically, he wanted the Crawford children to receive the best education.

The headmaster fell silent. “…”

What was he supposed to do? He was at a loss for words as he watched Anthony walk away.

Ms. Watson was indignant. “These people have gone too far, Mr. Lane!”

The headmaster immediately silenced her. “Shut up! Pack up your things and leave!”

That stunned her. Was this really happening?

“You can’t do this, Mr. Lane! We are currently preparing for the midterm exams…”

Mr. Lane turned and walked away.

Half an hour later, she was expelled from the school.

Every parent stared at her. She suddenly felt like a student who had been singled out…

Embarrassed, humiliated, unsettled…

“Corporal punishment… Hah, I can’t even raise my voice at my own daughter… And here she is…”

“I never liked her… I always wondered what connections she had…”

“Referring students to off-campus tutoring institutions and collecting referral fees… Tsk. What a great teacher.”

Ms. Watson fled the scene!

She hadn’t just lost her job.

Her teaching credentials had also been revoked.

How was she going to make a living now?!

Anthony held Lilly tightly in his arms. His pace was neither fast nor slow.

Both Josh and Drake followed behind him. The former still carried Lilly’s school bag with a solemn expression.

Lilly hesitated to speak.

“Uncle…”

“I wasn’t in timeout for very long!”

She had left with her brother to get food too!

Anthony softened his tone. “It has nothing to do with you, Lilly.”

He was trying to reassure the girl.

It was true that Ms. Watson deserved to be punished, but how could it have nothing to do with Lilly?

Charlie had spoken to a few students about Ms. Watson’s unfair punishments towards

Lilly and her attempts to vilify her in class.

She had even claimed that Lilly’s return caused Liam and Winona’s divorce.

It would be strange if Anthony let her off the hook so easily.

His eyes were filled with cold determination. What happened, happened.

This was a warning to everyone that there was a price to pay for messing with the Crawford family’s youngest daughter.

So what if everyone thinks we’re overbearing?!

“Let’s go. You can come shopping with me. Is there anything you want, Lilly?”

Lilly immediately put the matter behind her and nodded. “Yes!”

She wanted silver needles to help treat Granny’s legs.

She wanted to see her grandmother jump!

She suddenly asked, “Are we not taking the school bus, Uncle Anthony?”

The yellow school bus was about to leave.

Anthony looked at Ivan, who was in line to board the bus, and said, “No. We are going to the mall.”

“Hooray!”
