As Vivian finished her threat, the blue-haired man approached Brenna with the tainted drink, smirking confidently. “Now, will you drink this on your own, or shall I help you?”

Without hesitation, Brenna kicked her leg high, striking the smug man directly.

He stumbled backward, crashing into his friends and causing a domino effect of tumbling bodies.

Brandon, hit hardest, gritted his teeth and yelled, “Don’t let her escape!”

Ignoring them, Brenna skillfully maneuvered around the fallen bodies and made her way to the exit.

Reaching for the door, Brenna felt Harlan’s grip tighten on her ankle. “Trying to leave? It’s not that easy,” he sneered.

Despite their injuries, the group quickly rose and blocked her path. Brenna surveyed the seven men with a dismissive glance. “Fighting you will hardly be a proper warm-up for me. But if you want a real challenge… Alright, let’s raise the stakes. Are you game?”

Fueled by embarrassment and a thirst for revenge, Harlan burned with anger. “Fine, let’s raise the stakes. You’ve got guts-how do you propose we settle this?” he demanded.

Pointing upward, Brenna said, “On the ninth floor, there’s a high-stakes game. Lose, and you’ll have to have one finger cut off and pay ten million. Are you in?”

The men exchanged wary looks, realizing Brenna was no typical woman from wealthy families like Sylvie or Vivian. She was clearly wild and bold.

Brandon dabbed at the blood on his lip, his smirk revealing intrigue. “Agreed. But if you lose, the same goes for you: a finger, ten million, and you’ll be at our mercy for a night,” he said.

Just then, Brenna’s hand connected sharply with Brandon’s face, intensifying the split in his lip and leaving her mark on his cheek.

“Damn it! Get her!” Brandon shouted furiously, abandoning the bet and ordering his friends to attack.

Seizing the moment, Brenna landed another precise blow on Brandon. Then, she swiftly struck the approaching men multiple times. The men held their faces, eyes wide with shock at her terrifying speed and skill.

At that moment, the door creaked open. A middle-aged man with a neatly trimmed mustache and glasses entered, casting a stern gaze around the room.

A group of bodyguards stood lined up by the door, hands behind their backs.

Vivian hurried over. “Mr. Fowler, this woman is causing trouble! She has already assaulted Harlan and Brandon, and remember, Brandon’s father is the deputy mayor,” she warned.

Joonas Fowler eyed Brenna, noting her calm amidst the chaos. He was surprised to see a woman overpower several men. The Imperial Bar punished troublemakers harshly, but he had never encountered a woman causing this much chaos before.

Sylvie quickly added, “Mr. Fowler, she’s completely lost it-destroyed the place and even dared Harlan to a gruesome bet about cutting off fingers. She brought it up, so she must follow through.”

“What’s going on?” A voice echoed through the room, causing everyone to stop and turn toward the entrance.

Ethan entered, his tall stature and cold demeanor radiating authority. Brenna was surprised to see him.

As the owner of the Imperial Bar, Ethan had arranged to meet Brenna here. Growing impatient after waiting, he had come to investigate the commotion.

“Ethan?” Brenna glanced at her phone and noticed the time. “Sorry, I got caught up in some trouble.”

Sylvie and Vivian, who had witnessed Ethan’s proposal to Brenna the previous night, had orchestrated this entire scenario. Their plan was simple: disgrace Brenna tonight and make her unacceptable to Ethan. They hadn’t expected Ethan to arrive unexpectedly.

“Want me to handle this for you?” Ethan’s voice was sharp with fury, making it clear to everyone how enraged he was by the men’s failed attempt to intimidate Brenna.

His fists clenched tightly, knuckles cracking audibly. His face was a mask of rage. “Take them down,” Brenna commanded.

Ethan’s eyes scanned the room, quickly noting the seven men standing at the entrance, their expressions hostile. Among them, Harlan had even dared to lay a hand on Brenna.

His gaze turned icy as he fixed Harlan with a glare.

The moment Harlan caught Ethan’s cold stare, he hesitated, awkwardly withdrawing his hand and forcing a nervous smile. “Mr. Mitchell…” he muttered uneasily.

Without warning, he slapped himself twice-each sharp sound echoing in the room. Trying to recover, he forced a smile and said, “Mr. Mitchell, it’s all just a misunderstanding. Please don’t take it the wrong way.”

Harlan knew well of Brenna’s connection to Ethan and feared him. He had only attacked Brenna assuming Ethan’s interest in her was temporary. He believed if others hurt her, Ethan would lose interest and discard her easily.

What he hadn’t anticipated was Ethan showing up in person before he could harm Brenna. He didn’t know Ethan owned the bar.

Nervously chuckling, Harlan hurried to explain, “Mr. Mitchell, I swear we were just joking with Miss Harper. Sylvie and Vivian invited us to apologize to her, but she refused to accept. We were only trying to mediate.”

Ethan’s expression stayed cold as he fixed Harlan with a sharp look. “You must be bold-or foolish-to think you could lay a hand on my woman,” he said sharply.

He pulled Brenna into his embrace and gently patted her shoulder. “You’re safe now. I’m here to protect you.”

Brenna could have handled the situation herself-she was more than capable of making these men grovel-but there was a certain comfort in letting someone else fight for her. The feeling of protection was good.

“They tried to force me to drink earlier. The drinks were spiked,” Brenna said calmly, as if she hadn’t just been cornered and forced to drink.

She lifted a slender finger, pointing directly at Sylvie and Vivian. “Especially those two-they were the worst,” she added.

Sylvie and Vivian instinctively retreated behind the young men, but those men now looked at them with disdain. If not for their foolish claim-

Ethan’s feelings for Brenna were not fleeting, and he cared deeply for her. If his true affection had been for Rosie, no one would have dared treat Brenna with such disrespect.

Realization struck Harlan like a lightning bolt. Without hesitation, he grabbed Sylvie and Vivian by their hair, yanking them forward and delivering sharp kicks to their knees, forcing them to kneel before Brenna.

“Mr. Mitchell, these two masterminded the whole scheme. They told us to target Miss Harper. We had nothing to do with it,” Harlan declared.

Ethan watched Harlan’s act with a cold, unreadable gaze, then turned to Brenna, his expression softening. “What do you want to do with them?” he asked.

Brenna met Sylvie’s and Vivian’s terrified eyes without hesitation. “They invited me here to apologize. They should prove their sincerity by drinking the spiked drinks,” she said firmly.
