All the children on the Animaux Private Academy bus curiously stared at Lilly.
A boy sat in the back row. He stood out from the other children, sitting upright like a disciplined warrior.
Lilly noticed Ivan and greeted him with a smile, saying, “Hello!”
Ivan was surprised to see her and panicked because he hadn’t brought any candy.
Ivan had a serious expression on his face. Lilly asked, “Are you unhappy?”
Ivan turned around and replied, “No.”
Lilly stopped asking questions and took her seat. She placed her hands on her knees, mimicking Ivan’s posture.
Animaux Private Academy was the most prestigious private academy in Clodston. The students who attended the academy came from wealthy families. The Miller family was considered to be the least affluent.
Cheryl stepped out of her car and waved goodbye to her mother. She felt self-conscious as she looked around, making sure none of her classmates saw her arriving in a car.
Unlike other academies, the affluent students at Animaux Private Academy all took the bus.
The bright yellow bus was heavily armored. The driver and teacher on the bus were former members of the Special Operations Forces, ensuring the safety of the students.
The monthly fee for the academy bus was $100,000 per person. This meant that parents had to spend over a million dollars a year on transportation alone.
Cheryl’s family was not willing to spend that amount of money. Cheryl felt embarrassed because her mother was the one who picked her up every time.
Cheryl’s mother reminded her to be careful. When Cheryl saw the academy bus arriving, she quickly said, “I know, Mommy! Go home quickly!”
She was afraid of being laughed at because she couldn’t afford to take the bus.
Cheryl’s mother wanted to say something, but instead, she drove away.
The bus slowly made its way inside the academy. Cheryl did her best to walk alongside it. When she walked with the bus, people would assume that she also rode on it. It was all part of her plan. When the bus doors opened, Cheryl walked slowly. To outsiders, she would appear as someone who had just gotten off the bus, and to the students on the bus, she would seem like someone who was walking past it.
Cheryl hurriedly walked into the academy when her friends ran over to greet her.

Someone took out a photo. It was a picture of an actor at the ceremony, and Cheryl could be seen behind the actor, surrounded by many people. They seemed to be enjoying their conversation.
It satisfied Cheryl’s vanity. She said, “Oh, how did all of you find out? My father was supposed to be there as the Shaw family’s representative. We were trying to keep a low profile, but someone noticed us and kept talking to us. It was quite bothersome.”
Cheryl’s friends looked up to her with envy.
“The Shaw family… Do you mean Ivan Shaw, who is in the 2nd grade?”
“Wow. I heard that his father is a legendary general, known as the God of Battle.”

Meanwhile, Lilly was following Josh.

Ivan was walking at the back and overheard Lilly asking, “Josh, are we in the same class? Can I sit with you? Which class is Cheryl in?”
Josh finally grew impatient and said, “Shut up!” He felt embarrassed. All his classmates came to school alone, but he had to let someone tag along.

“Hamburger… where are you?” Lilly whispered to herself.

Drake separated from Josh and Lilly, reminding Josh to take good care of Lilly.
