Luna Carla’s lips parted slightly, because that was exactly what they had done. They had listened to Vanessa’s version of events and immediately come to Black Howler to demand answers.
“I see.” Diana sighed softly. She sat back slightly against Talon. “Then allow me to explain.”
Her gaze turned cold. “Your daughter did not just touch my mate.”
Vanessa paled slightly.
“She pushed a pup who accidentally bumped into her.”
Alpha Charles frowned.
“And when the pup’s mother tried to explain the situation…” Diana’s voice sharpened. “Your daughter slapped her.”
The room went silent.
“I don’t know how things work in the Stone Claw Pack,” Diana continued calmly. “Perhaps high-ranking wolves there are allowed to assault pack members and their children.”
“But here in Black Howler…” Her eyes hardened. “That behavior is unforgivable.”
“As the Luna of Black Howler,” Diana said calmly, her voice steady but firm, “I have the authority to discipline anyone who harms the members of this pack.”
Her gaze moved from Alpha Charles to Luna Carla before finally settling on Vanessa.
“If the pup who bumped into your daughter had done it intentionally,” Diana continued, “I would have spoken with the child’s mother myself and demanded that she correct her pup’s behavior.”
She leaned back slightly in Talon’s lap, her posture composed but her presence commanding.
“But that was not what happened.”
Her eyes sharpened.
“That child did nothing wrong. He was playing. Laughing. Enjoying the day with his friends and his mother.”
The room remained silent as she spoke.
“For your daughter to push him to the ground,” Diana said slowly, “and then slap his mother when she tried to explain the situation…”
She paused, letting the weight of her words settle in the room.
“As their Luna, it is my duty to protect them and ensure they receive justice.”
Vanessa shifted uncomfortably but said nothing.
Diana’s voice remained calm, but there was steel in every word.
“For your daughter to walk into our pack’s territory as a guest,” she continued, “and behave as if she owned it…”
Her eyes briefly flickered with annoyance.
“…while reminding me that she is an Alpha’s daughter, as though that somehow gives her the right to harm any wolf she pleases…”
Diana gave a small, unimpressed smile.
“That is laughable.”
Enzo had to look down at the floor again to hide the grin threatening to break across his face.
Diana then glanced briefly at Talon before continuing.
“I was willing to forgive her for touching my mate,” she admitted.
Vanessa’s head jerked up slightly.
“She did not know Talon was already mated,” Diana said. “Which is why I gave her a warning.”
Her expression hardened again.
“But harming one of our pack members is a completely different matter.”
“Diana’s tone dropped slightly, carrying quiet authority.
“And Talon-as Alpha-has every right to banish her from this territory”
She rested one hand lightly against Talon’s arm as she spoke.
“He is the Alpha. The protector of this pack.”
Her voice remained firm.
“If Talon cannot protect his pack members from someone like your daughter…”
She looked directly at Alpha Charles.
“… then he would not be a good Alpha.”
The words hung in the room.
Then Diana’s gaze softened slightly as she looked at Talon.
“But from everything I have seen,” she continued, “my mate is an excellent Alpha King.”
For a moment, no one spoke.
Alpha Charles and Luna Carla simply stared at her.
They glanced at each other briefly, silently communicating in a way only long-mated wolves could.
Neither of them knew how to respond.
Their daughter had told them a completely different story.
She had described humiliation.
Disrespect.
Cruel treatment.
But she had never mentioned a pup.
Or a mother.
Or her own actions.
Now, standing here in front of the Luna of Black Howler, they realized something deeply uncomfortable.
They had come here ready to demand justice.
Instead-
They were the ones being reprimanded.
And they could not even defend their daughter.
Because even in their own pack…
Bullying weaker members was not tolerated.
And now it was painfully clear-
Their daughter had been the one behaving like a bully.
Vanessa sit rigidly beside them, her face pale with anger and embarrassment.
Alpha Charles slowly exhaled.
Luna Carla lowered her gaze slightly.
For the first time since entering Talon’s office
Neither of them had anything to say.
“Alpha King… Luna Queen,” Alpha Charles finally said, breaking the heavy silence in the room.
His voice was no longer filled with the pride and anger he carried when he first entered the office. Instead, it held the tone of a father who had just realized his child had put him in an embarrassing position.
“We apologize for coming here demanding retribution for what we believed happened to our daughter.”
He glanced briefly at Vanessa before continuing.
“It is now clear that she was the one in the wrong.”
Luna Carla nodded quietly beside him, her expression still tight with embarrassment.
“We will make sure something like this will never happen again,” Alpha Charles added.
“Daddy!!” Vanessa suddenly whined, her voice rising in protest.
Alpha Charles turned sharply toward her.
“Enough!”
His voice thundered through the room.
“You have embarrassed us enough already,” he snapped. “You allowed your mother and me to believe you were mistreated.”
His eyes flashed with frustration.
“We came here prepared to defend your honor.”
He gestured toward Talon and Diana.
“And now we find out that you were the one who behaved disgracefully?”
Vanessa looked shocked that her father had turned against her so quickly.
She opened her mouth to argue but thought better of it when Luna Carla’s stern gaze landed on her.
Talon finally spoke, his voice calm but authoritative.
“Alpha Charles,” Talon said, “We understand your instinct to protect your daughter’s honor.”
He leaned back slightly in his chair, his arm still around Diana.
“And we also understand that you were misled into believing Vanessa was mistreated here.”
Talon gave a small nod.
“So we accept your apology.”
Relief flickered briefly across, Alpha Charles’ face.
“But,” Talon continued firmly, “that does not change what happened.”
His gaze moved briefly to Vanessa.
“I cannot allow her to return to Black Howler as an honored guest.”
The words were delivered calmly, but the finality behind them was unmistakable.
Vanessa’s face turned pale.
“She may attend official events in the future,” Talon continued, “but only when accompanied by you.”
He paused.
“But she will not be allowed to enter my territory alone again.”
The message was clear.
Vanessa had lost her privileges within Black Howler.
Alpha Charles bowed his head slightly in acceptance.
“We understand, Alpha King.”
Luna Carla nodded as well.
Without further argument, Alpha Charles stood.
“Thank you for your time,” he said respectfully.
The three members of the Stone Claw Pack family turned to leave.
“Enzo,” Talon said.
“Yes, Alpha?”
“Please escort our guests back to their vehicle.”
“Of course,” Enzo replied politely.
He opened the office door and guided Alpha Charles, Luna Carla, and the still-fuming Vanessa out of the room.
The moment the door closed behind them…`
The tension in the office disappeared.
Talon didn’t wait a second longer.
He pulled Diana closer and kissed her deeply.
Diana blinked in surprise but quickly melted into the kiss.
“That,” Talon murmured against her lips, his voice low with admiration, “was incredibly attractive, my mate.
He brushed his nose lightly against hers.
