Chapter 30 – Maleah The Angel Of Death Novel

Posted on May 28, 2026 by admin

Filed to story: Maleah The Angel Of Death Novel

We all know that those four murders were eventually ruled as a natural death, only because the Council of Elders couldn’t find anything that screamed foul play, and if I understand my Angel, they never would have.

“Sweetheart, if I have remembered correctly, you have four gifts. Did they all come at the same time?” Diego asks, and for a moment Maleah looks at her hands.

“I told you that after reading the journals, I found out I have every gift an Assassin has ever been granted, and I know that you are aware of at least one more gift I should have,” she says as she looks at Diego.

“The gift of hearing,” Dad whispers, and I remember him telling us about that gift, but he also mentioned another gift.

“Angel, do you have the gift of sense?” I ask, and Dad is looking from Diego to Maleah before he looks at me. Maleah confirms she also has that gift, making it six gifts in total, and I am left in awe.

Maleah’s p.o.v.

We sit in silence for a long time; my head is resting on Mack’s shoulder, and I can almost see the links of the Mate-bond form. One link connecting to the next link, forming a strong and unbreakable bond between the two of us, and I know it will only be a matter of time before it is formed completely.

Fortune will soon feel her bond with Commander form, making it easier for them to communicate without involving me or Mack.

“Diego, how close to the Royals does your bloodline run?” Colter asks, and I know Dad’s answer won’t make any sense to him; I know it didn’t to me when I found out that the gift of sense was only ever granted to someone close to the Royals.

The Royal Assassin was known for that ability, and the other person that had that ability had an ancestor that was a member of the King’s Assassin team, but no one else ever possessed the gift of sense.

“I have a very detailed file on our bloodline, but we don’t come close enough to the Royals to explain why Maleah has that gift,” Dad answers, and I can see that Colter isn’t too happy with that answer. Colter and Dad are discussing how it is possible that I have the gift of sense, while Fortune and I are debating on telling them what I found out years ago.

“Tell them; it is best if they understand that this isn’t a fluke,” Fortune says again, and I look at Dad and Colter as I say, “Mother’s bloodline.” I hate that I am related to that woman, but she is partially responsible for the Assassin I am, and I think it is time that Dad knew a little more about his former Mate.

“After reading all the journals, I knew I had to be related to a Royal somehow, but I knew it wasn’t from your side of the family, Dad. My assignment in school on my bloodline made that clear; you gave me the file to use, and I read the entire file.

So with that information, I decided to dig into my Mother’s past, but she was reluctant to tell me anything about her family’s bloodline. I believe she is unaware of it, or she would have used it to her advantage, and with the tiny bit of information I got from her, I started to form a file on her bloodline.

It took me over a year to get all the information I was looking for, but when I did, I was also very surprised. The Royal Assassin possessed the gift of sense; he was the best Assassin the King had, and when he went missing one day, the entire Kingdom was turned upside down.

No one ever found a trace of him, and no one ever heard of him again. It took the King five years to accept that his Royal Assassin was gone, and there is even a tombstone for him in the Royal Graveyard.

The Royal Assassin didn’t die as everyone suspected; he just decided to disappear. The King had sent him after an Alpha that refused to turn his Daughter over to her Mate, and when the Royal Assassin arrived at the Pack, he found the Alpha’s Daughter.

His Lycan felt the connection to her, and he decided to find out if she was indeed his Mate, which, by the way, she was. Her Uncle’s Pack is located the furthest away from the Royal Pack, and they moved there to live out their lives together.

He is my, I don’t know how many times, Great-Grandfather. I doubt Mother is even aware of the fact that she comes from a long line of Lycans, because if she knew, then how can she hate Lycans so much?” I say, and everyone starts talking at once, because it makes me the Royal Assassin by birthright.

Colter asks me how I figured out the Royal Assassin was related to me, because he vanished centuries ago and even the King was unable to find him.

Maleah’s p.o.v.

“I will refer to him as my Great-Grandfather to make it easier,” I say, and everyone nods their head.

“My trail ended with him; his name and that of his Mate just appeared in the Pack’s archives, no other family file added with it. We then looked at every Pack to see if someone disappeared around that same time, and after eliminating one after the other, two names remained on the list: the Royal Assassin and the female he was supposed to bring to the King after killing her Father.

At first, I thought we had made a mistake, and I went over every piece of information again and again, until I had to face the truth in the end. My Great-Grandfather was the Royal Assassin,” I say, and everyone remains silent as I snuggle closer to Mack’s chest.

I remember the day I finally accepted the truth; it was during a huge fashion event in Marskha, and I was also working an assignment.

Normally my assignments are works of precision, but this time I lost control of Fortune, and to this day I have no idea why she was able to take control. She told me that something about the target had triggered her to push forward; neither one of us really understood why, and in the end, we just accepted it for what it was.

A fucked up day, a day to forget about as quickly as we could.

I never told anyone about my discovery before; I have no intention to make it public knowledge that I am a descendent of the Royal Assassin. The Royal Assassin bloodline went extinct centuries ago, and if it is up to me, it will remain that way; I don’t want to become the Royal

Assassin.

It might give me the chance to find out why certain Wolves and Lycans escape justice, but it is not worth losing my freedom over, and I doubt the Royals would appreciate that Mack is my Mate.

I can hear you ask yourself, how does she know the Royals won’t appreciate her Mate?
