“I turned sixteen yesterday.”
“That stinks.” He squats down beside me and fiddles with his cuffs. “I could open these in a jiffy if I had a hairpin.”
I smile at his bragging. “Or a key.”
“You sound like my father. He’ll laugh when I tell him that.”
