Olivia was tempted to check on them, but she remembered what she’d seen the last time she went up there. It would be best if she stayed in the kitchen.
“Mia can talk her way around anything,” Olivia said as she grabbed a bowl from the cabinet, “but I think she has finally pushed her luck too far.”
Ryan looked up from the newspaper when he heard footsteps on the attic stairs. “We’ll soon find out.”
Olivia clenched the edge of the countertop when she heard the door to the attic open. She looked over her shoulder just in time to see Mia and Jake enter the kitchen.
She searched for any signs of anger or hurt feelings. She didn’t see any as her gaze traveled from their toweled-dry hair to the way Mia’s T-shirt and shorts clung to her damp skin.
Jake’s hand rested on Mia’s hip, and he smiled down at her. Olivia started to relax. From their body language, it looked as if Mia had managed, once again, to talk her way out of trouble. She didn’t know how her friend did it.
“Okay, you guys,” Mia said as she stepped into the kitchen. “Everyone is on the same page. We all agree to swapping, and it’s going to last for four days.”
“Right.” Ryan said as he folded the newspaper.
“Great,” Olivia replied weakly. It was really happening. She wanted this, but she was so nervous she might have to throw up.
Ryan tossed the paper onto the table. “But I have a condition for when Jake and Olivia hook up.”
Mia’s head snapped back, and she glared at Ryan. “What?”
“It’s okay,” Olivia assured her. The more she thought about it, the more she wouldn’t mind Ryan watching over her.
Mia pressed her hand against Jake’s chest. “Well, it may not be okay for Jake.”
Mia didn’t see the look Jake gave her, but Olivia did and her heart melted. Jake was pleasantly surprised that Mia was looking out for his interest. Olivia wished Mia had seen the sweet look on his face, but it was probably for the best. Mia didn’t do sweet and adorable.
“Ryan wants to be in the room while I’m with Jake,” Olivia told her friend. “Just the first time. It’s no different from what we just did with you.”
“Are you okay with that, Jake?” Mia asked, looking up at him and missing his affectionate look.
“Sure,” Jake agreed and looked at Olivia. “Are you ready?”
“Now?” Her voice cracked as her body went from hot to cold.
“Yeah, now.” He pulled away from Mia and looked around the room. “Where should we do it?”
She looked wildly around the room. “I don’t know.” She wasn’t that imaginative. Was he going to lay her out on the counter or bend her over the sink? Her knees weakened at the thought.
“Try her bed,” Ryan suggested drily.
“Hey,” Mia interrupted, “no one said you could interfere.”
“You won’t feel weird about that?” Jake asked Ryan.
“My ego won’t be dented.”
“Good to know.”
Jake walked over to Olivia, and it took every ounce of her will-power not to back away. Her fingers gripped the countertop as if her life depended on it.
Jake stood in front of her. He towered over her, surrounding her until she didn’t see or think of anything else. “What do you want to do?” he asked.
“Uh.” What did she want to do? The bed sounded like a good option, but she had no idea what she wanted after that.
Why did she think Jake would guide her through this? She wanted to try something different and take charge, right? She just didn’t know where to start. Olivia gave a panicked look at Ryan.
“I tell you what.” Ryan rose from his seat. “I’ll direct Olivia.”
Oooh . . . She kind of liked that idea. A lot. Her pussy warmed as she imagined Ryan instructing her how to suck on Jake’s cock.
“Oh, I don’t think so,” Mia said, putting her hands on her hips. “This is Jake and Olivia’s time.”
“It’s okay, Mia,” Olivia assured her. She didn’t want Ryan to take away his offer. “I like this idea. It’s sounds interesting.”
Mia scrunched her nose in disbelief. “Really?”
Olivia nodded her head and gnawed her bottom lip, slightly embarrassed. Someone as sexy and brazen as Mia wouldn’t understand. Would Jake? Olivia cast him a questioning look.
“Let’s go with it,” Jake said.
“I’m not too sure about this,” Mia warned. “Ryan is going to take over like he always does.”
Ryan dramatically placed his hand over his heart. “I promise I won’t sweep Olivia out of the room.”
Mia wasn’t amused. “You’re just saying that because you know her bed will already be occupied. I’m coming, too.”
Olivia stared at her friend. “Fabulous,” she said in a croak. This was the first time she would have sex with someone other than Ryan, and she was going to have an audience. “Just fabulous.”
Olivia wasn’t sure about leading the parade to her bedroom. She sensed Jake right behind her, and knew Mia and Ryan were following. No one said anything, and the silence was grating on her nerves.
Her stomach twisted and flipped. She wanted this, Olivia reminded herself. She had risked her relationship for this, but now that it was time for action, she didn’t think she could go through with it.
What if this was all a mistake? What if having sex with Jake was really bad or, worse, incredibly good? Was she going to regret having sex with Jake? Olivia didn’t think that would happen. She had a feeling the only thing she would regret was not following through.
