Chapter 184 – A Little Princess’s Journey from Darkness to Light Novel

Blake glanced over. Come on, guys, let’s share the fun!

“Lilly, I think your Uncle Anthony would look great in the bright pink. As for your Uncle Liam… hm, I think he’d look pretty good in black.”

Lilly’s eyes sparkled. “Yeah, yeah! Uncle Liam, Uncle Anthony! Come on down!”

Those two were speechless.

Bettany stifled her laughter, watching this group of guys unable to say no to a little girl.

What a reversal of roles!

The lights had just come on.

Three people were acting strangely around the boat-renting area in the garden.

Three men were wearing coats and hats, their hands deep in their pockets as they quietly boarded a boat.

Behind them was a little boy, hopping and prancing around.

Behind the little boy was a woman in a long red dress. She was heavily made up but looked rather peculiar…

Behind them all was a college-aged girl, having the time of her life taking pictures.

The three men were Blake, Anthony, and Edmund. The woman in makeup had been called in at the last minute, and a reluctant Layton was currently regretting his life choices.

Jean was practically in stitches at the sight. Despite Blake not crossdressing in the end, he and the other guys had all gotten manicures. Lilly even insisted on making them wear flip flops to show off their dazzling toenails.

Those toenails were currently digging into their flip flops.

Jean hooked an arm around a twitching

Layton, grinning. “Hey, pretty lady. Out alone tonight?”

It was a shame Layton couldn’t see her. He would be furious otherwise.

The boat was a small ferry. Upon entering the cabin, Blake and the others took out their hands, and their toes stopped digging into the bottom of their flip flops.

How on earth had they walked the entire way like this?

Layton’s expression returned to normal as well. “What’s the mission for today, Mr. MacNeil?”

He had received an emergency call asking him to come here for a mission.

Who would have expected the Crawfords, specifically Edmund and Lilly, to force him into women’s clothing…

Blake said, “Here, wear this necklace.”

This necklace was custom-made by Lilly to ward off evil spirits.

Layton, dressed in women’s clothing, felt confused.

After that, he noticed the brightly-colored nails of the Crawfords.

Even their toenails were well-manicured.

Anthony and Edward received the same treatment. Anthony’s nails were bright pink and preppy, while Edward’s were black…

Uncle Edward stared at his nails, quite satisfied with them. “Heh, I actually think they look pretty good.”

Layton felt even more confused.

Layton was at a loss for words. “What is our mission today, Mr. Macneil?”

Blake replied, “We need to lure someone out. They have seen Lilly and me before, so we cannot reveal ourselves. You will be the one to lure them out.”

“I remember you are quite skilled at swimming, aren’t you? You have had an underwater battle before.”

Layton nodded. This was not a problem for him.

But…

“Has this person seen me before?” he asked solemnly.

Who was this enemy? Was it an escaped prisoner?

Mr. Macneil seemed genuinely concerned!

However, Blake stopped short and said, “No,

they have not seen you.”

Layton was speechless.

So, what was the point of him dressing up like this!

As if he could read Layton’s thoughts, Blake quickly came up with an explanation. “This outfit is for your protection. It will ward off evil spirits.”

Layton thought to himself, Thanks, but no thanks.

The ferry slowly moved along the river, spinning around.

“What are we going to do now?” Layton covered his face.

Blake was comfortably reclined on the couch, with his arms spread out and legs crossed.

“Do you see that window?” he said. “Open it and stick your head out.”

The ferry was designed for river tours. The second floor had a dock with comfortable sofas. Inside the cabin, there was a minibar and a window made of glass that could be opened.

Layton opened the window and stuck his head out.

Lilly took off her shoes and climbed onto the sofa, imitating Blake’s relaxed posture. “Then you need to stick your arms out and play with the water.”

Layton was puzzled by this.

Crossdressing, sticking his head out of a window, and now playing with the water.

Something feels off about this, he thought.

Oh well, a mission is a mission, and Layton was on one.

The window was quite high above the water, so he had to lean out to reach it.

Luckily, he had long arms, considering his height.

Lilly kept taking pictures of Layton with her phone, saying, “Say, ‘Come play, baby!'”

That’s what everyone on TV said.

Anthony smirked.

Blake chuckled. “Don’t shout too loudly, darling.”

And so, they all sat sipping their coffees while Layton worked by the window. The wind messed up his silky hair, and he half-heartedly patted the water with his hand.

He made a beautiful sight.

Suddenly, Layton felt something.

He frowned. Water weeds?

But it was thin and slippery, more like hair!
