What did she represent to him, exactly?
“Why are you looking at me like that?” Tina asked, confused. At this moment, Kit’s gaze towards her was different from usual. He was very focused, as if he wanted to imprint her entire being in his mind.

Just then, the lights in the elevator suddenly came back on, and shortly after, the elevator started moving and ascending.
The elevator was fixed!

The elevator doors opened, and Eugenia, Kit’s manager, and the other members of the group were all standing outside.
Tina released Kit’s hand and rushed out of the elevator, hugging Eugenia, who had tears streaming down her face. “I’m fine, why are you crying like this? I was just trapped in the elevator for a while.”
“I was worried you might get hurt!” Eugenia choked out.
“It’s okay, I’m safe!” Tina raised her hand and wiped away the tears on her friend’s face.
Kit walked out of the elevator, and his manager and teammates approached him, asking if he was okay.
“I’m fine,” Kit said calmly, looking down at his own hand.
Just a moment ago, his hand was still clasped with Tina’s hand. When she pulled her hand away, he felt a sense of loss in his chest.
When Kit returned to his private residence in the evening, he saw his father in the living room.
“Everything today was your doing, right?” Kit spoke.
“Yes, it was my doing. In the elevator, you had some alone time with Miss. Stephenson. I’m sure your feelings must have deepened,” Edmond admitted straightforwardly.
Kit’s expression changed. “Why would you do this?
You know that I…”
“You mean, you know about your claustrophobia?” Edmond nonchalantly chuckled. “It’s precisely because of your claustrophobia that I had someone tamper with the elevator. Women are more likely to be sympathetic in these situations, especially Tina, who already had a favorable opinion of you.”
Kit pursed his thin lips, gripping the hand that hung by his side tightly. His father would never understand the fear he felt when darkness engulfed him, when his symptoms flared up.

Kit remained silent. His father’s words made it seem like all his efforts were insignificant.
“Alright, you can find opportunities to interact with Miss. Stephenson again. Make her develop other feelings for you. That way, she can speak more favorably of the Ingram family,” Edmond suggested.
Kit continued to remain silent.
