His gaze flicked pointedly toward Luna Hazel.

“Though perhaps you wouldn’t understand that,” Talon continued, his tone sharpening, “considering you allow your Luna to act like a whore in front of your pack.”

Hazel gasped, her mouth falling open in shock.

The insult hit harder than any blow.

She turned to Asher, eyes wide, waiting-begging-for him to defend her. To say something. Anything.

Asher said nothing.

The silence was louder than words.

“I will not stay here and endure this disrespect.” Humiliation burned across Hazel’s face, anger following swiftly behind it. “You have no right-“

She turned sharply and strode toward the door.

She never reached it. Beta Enzo stepped smoothly into her path, his expression unreadable but firm. “I’m afraid I can’t allow that, Luna Hazel.”

Hazel bristled. “Move.”

“I can’t,” Enzo replied evenly. “As Luna of this pack, your presence is required for this investigation.”

Hazel scoffed. “This is absurd. I am not being accused of anything.”

“Not yet,” Enzo said calmly.

She opened her mouth to argue, to demand, to threaten, but one look at Talon silenced her.

The Alpha King’s gaze was locked on her now, cold and unyielding.

“No one leaves,” Talon said. “Not you. Not your Alpha. Not your Beta. Not until the truth is dragged into the light.”

He turned toward the door. “Let’s go, my Luna.”

Talon’s voice was low, steady, but beneath it lay something far more dangerous-an edge sharpened by fury barely contained. He turned fully toward Diana, his massive presence angling protectively in front of her without even thinking about it. His hand reached for hers, warm, solid, grounding.

“Let’s find out who tried to kill you,” he continued, his blue eyes darkening as his alpha aura pulsed through the room. “Who dared to bring rogues into this pack. Who thought they could touch what is mine and walk away breathing.”

Diana felt the power of his words ripple through the bond, heavy and fierce. Fenrir stirred beneath Talon’s skin, restless, hungry for justice and blood. She could feel it as clearly as her own heartbeat.

“Who is the traitor in this pack,” Talon said, each word deliberate, measured, lethal. His gaze lifted briefly, sweeping across Asher, Hazel, and Beta Rafe. “Because once I find them, I will not hand them over to councils or courts.”

He looked back at Diana then, his expression softening just enough for her and only her. “I will end them right where they stand.”

The promise was not spoken in anger. It was spoken as fact.

Diana swallowed, her fingers tightening around his. For a heartbeat, memories threatened to rise-of betrayal, of rejection, of the night her world had shattered years ago. But standing beside Talon now, wrapped in his presence, those memories felt distant. Smaller. Weaker.

“I won’t let anyone hide behind titles,” Talon continued quietly, lowering his head so only she could hear him. “Not Alphas. Not Lunas. Not Betas. No one gets mercy when they try to take my mate from me.”

She looked up at him, meeting his gaze. “And what if the traitor is someone I once trusted?”

His thumb brushed over her knuckles in a soothing motion. “Then they fall all the same,” he replied without hesitation. “Blood doesn’t erase guilt. History doesn’t excuse betrayal.”

His eyes softened again. “You are not alone in this, Diana. You never will be again.”

The bond flared warmly at his words, steadying her resolve.

Talon straightened, his posture shifting from mate to king in an instant. The air around him seemed to bow as he turned toward the doors of the pack house.

“Stay close to me,” he murmured. “No one speaks to you unless I allow it. No one touches you. And if anyone so much as breathes wrong in your direction-“

“I know, and let me remind you again. I can protect myself.” Diana said quietly.

He smiled, just slightly. “I know.”

Hand in hand, they moved forward.

Outside, the murmur of the pack grew louder. Eyes followed them as they stepped into the open-some filled with fear, some with confusion, some with dawning realization.

Justice was coming.

And it would not be gentle.

“Alpha King, the rogues and the royal guards are assembled in front of the pack house,” Beta Enzo reported, his voice calm but edged with purpose. They’re waiting for us.”

Asher’s head snapped up from his desk. His brows furrowed, imitation flashing across his face. “Tin front of the pack house?” he repeated sharply. Way are they there? They should be brought to my office Interrogations are handled privately, not turned into spectacle.”

Before Enzo could respond, a heavy, commanding presence filled the room.

“That will not do, Alpha Asher.” Talon stepped forward, his posture relaxed but his aura anything but.

The air thickened instantly, pressure bearing down on every wolf in the room. Even the walls seemed to hum in response to him.

“This investigation,” Talon continued evenly, his blue eyes cold and assessing, will be conducted in front of your pack. Out in the open. No shadows. No closed doors. No whispers behind titles.”

“You overstep,” Asher rose to his feet so abruptly his chair scraped loudly against the floor. “This is my pack. I am the Alpha here. King or not, you do not have the right to conduct an investigation like this on my territory.”

“I do,” Talon’s lips curved-not in amusement, but in something far more dangerous. “And I will”

Asher’s hands clenched into fists. “If you do this in front of my pack, you undermine my authority. My wolves will lose faith in my leadership. You will disrupt the structure I worked years to build!”

“You already disrupted it,” Talon replied coldly. The moment a traitor operated freely within your borders The moment rogues walked through your territory unnoticed. The moment my mate was attacked under your watch.”

Diana stood beside Talon, silent but steady. Though she said nothing, her presence alone was powerful- unflinching, watchful, resolute.

Talon turned fully toward Asher now. “As Alpha King, I have a duty to protect every wolf within this kingdom. And right now, your pack is compromised. You have a traitor. Possibly more than one”

Asher scoffed. “And you think I would allow that? You think I would betray my own pack?”

“I think,” Talon said, voice dropping to a lethal calm, “that you already tried to hide this from me You called it an internal investigation. You thought you could contain it. Control it. Decide what I would and would not see.”

Asher’s eyes burned. “You dare accuse me of treachery?”

“I dare say,” Talon replied, stepping closer, his aura pressing hard now, “that I do not trust you.”

The room went deathly quiet.

“What would I gain from sending rogues after Diana? Asher’s chest rose and fell heavily, and he shouted. She was my fated mate!”

A sharp laugh cut through the tension

“Ex-mate.

All eyes turned to Diana. She stepped forward, her voice steady but edged with pain long buried. “Do I need to remind you, Alpha Asher. That you rejected me five years ago?

Asher froze.

“Diana…” he whispered, instinctively reaching for her.

The sound of Talon’s growl rolled through the room like thunder.

“One more step,” he said, his voice low and feral, “and I will end you where you stand.”

Asher stopped instantly.

“You should know this,” Talon moved closer to Diana, placing himself fully between her and Asher, his hand resting possessively at her back. “No Alpha touches another Alpha’s Luna. Ever.”

His gaze flicked pointedly toward Luna Hazel.

“Though perhaps you wouldn’t understand that,” Talon continued, his tone sharpening, “considering you allow your Luna to act like a whore in front of your pack.”

Hazel gasped, her mouth falling open in shock.

Justice was coming.

And it would not be gentle.

In front of the assembled pack members, Talon Ravenwood stood tall, his presence commanding silence without a single order being spoken.

The courtyard of the Crimson Fang Pack was packed shoulder to shoulder-warriors, elders, omegas, healers, and pups clinging to their parents Confusion and unease rippled through the crowd. Whispers died the moment Talon stepped forward, the royal aura, strong, overwhelming, and powerful can be felt by everyone.

“Members of the Crimson Fang Pack,” Talon began, his tone calm but heavy with authority. “For those who do not know me, I am Alpha King Talon Ravenwood.”

Gasps echoed instantly. Some wolves dropped to one knee without realizing it. Others stared in disbelief. The Alpha King rarely appeared without warning and never without reason.

“A few days ago,” Talon continued, “I came to this pack searching for my mate.”

His gaze shifted, softening as it settled on Diana Nightshade, who stood beside him. She remained composed, chin lifted, though her hand tightened briefly around his sleeve.

‘And I found her here,” he said. “Diana Nightshade.”

Murmurs spread like wildfire.

‘I found her not hiding,” Talon said, pride threading his words, “but fighting. Fighting rogues during the last attack. Protecting this pack-your pack-even though she had already resigned as a warrior and stood among you as nothing more than a regular pack member.”

Talon looked at Diana fully now. Pride, devotion, and fierce respect burned in his eyes. “She fought because this pack is her home.”

Then his expression hardened as he turned back to the crowd.

“Yesterday,” Talon said, his voice lowering dangerously, “while my mate was resting in her cabin-and while I returned to the pack house to discuss urgent matters with my beta-my mate was attacked.”

The courtyard went still.

“Fifteen rogues,” Talon said sharply. “Fifteen.”

Shock swept across the pack. Warriors exchanged glances. Elders whispered in disbelief.

“Fifteen rogues entered your territory,” Talon continued, “without any alarms being raised. Without your warriors responding. Without your alpha knowing.”

The silence that followed was suffocating.

“That,” Talon said coldly, “means one thing.”

His eyes swept over every face. “This pack has a traitor.”

Gasps erupted. Fear flickered. Some wolves instinctively stepped back from those standing near them.

“A traitor,” Talon repeated, his aura flaring just enough to make weaker wolves tremble, “who targeted my Tuna His voice dropped to a lethal whisper. “And that… is something I will not tolerate.”
