He smile falters, before he replies “no, no! You are”, but he doesn’t explain himself further and I decide not to press. I want to enjoy the rest of my night male-free with Nadia anyway, as we have only just rekindled. “But, as much as I enjoy your company, I am going to enjoy the rest of my night with my best friend over here” I pull Nadia to my side and kiss her cheek affectionately, before continuing “a male-free rest of the night, just me and her”. He puts his hand across his chest in mock hurt, before smiling at me. “Good luck with that, beautiful. As soon as I leave, I’m sure any of the other guys ogling you will swoop in. But I will take my cue. Hope to see you again, Lola” he winks at me, before walking back towards his group, who are all looking at me intently. I grab Nadia and continue to sway and grind with her to the music. “Ehmmm Lola, can we move elsewhere? The stares are making me uncomfortable” she says while glancing at Felix and his crew. I didn’t notice, but they are still staring indeed. “Sure, lead the way”. She grabs my hand and drags me to the other end of the dancefloor, away from all privy eyes. Or so I thought.

In the middle of dancing to the tunes, Nadia comes to a halt. I look at her confused, before I turn to look at what she is staring at. In front of me, is none other than fake barbie and 6 of her friends, probably all dragons. Most of them have their arms folded across their chests, trying to seem menacing I presume, while others have their hands on their hips defiantly. The looks on their faces are murderous and I wonder to what I owe this pleasure. I fold my arms across my chest with a tight smile on my face, trying to resist grinning like an idi*t at the angry looking spice girls in front of me. Drunk or not, I could still whoop her fake *ss. Ll of them combined even. Before I can ask her the reason for her surprise visit, she shrieks “you f*cking stay away from Lucian, you wh*re!”. Ouch. Wrong choice of words honey. Apparently I am not only super cuddly, friendly and horny when I am drunk. Apparently, I am also easily triggered.

I close the little gap there was between us, getting right in her face, while saying in a very calm demeanor “what was that, fake barbie? Do you dare to repeat what you just called your future Queen?”. I push out some of my aura, but not even 10% pushed out it is already bringing the spice girls to their knees with their heads bowed. Barbie doesn’t speak though, and it doesn’t sit well with me. “I don’t like repeating myself, barbie. Speak!” I say with a clenched jaw. “I-I-I-I’m sorry” she stammers out under the pressure of my aura. “I’m sorry.. Who?”. She grits her teeth, before stuttering “I-I-I’m s-sorry my Q-Q-Queen”. “That’s better. Now, I wish to have absolutely nothing to do with you and your mate. I am going to reject him tomorrow, and you are going to keep him the f*ck away from me. Understood?”. “Y-Yes”. “Yes WHO?” “Y-Y-Yes m-my Q-Q-Queen”. “Pathetic” is all I mutter before heading back towards Damon and the boys, dragging Nadia along with me.

Right before walking off, I catch Felix watching me intently. His gaze is curious, his brows furrowed in confusion. He has probably witnessed the entire scene, by the looks of him. Before I blend into the crowd I see his expression morph from curious and shocked into an amused one. As fun as the guy seems, and I think we could even be great friends judging by our encounters thus far, this will probably be the last I see of him as I don’t intend to start clubbing every weekend. Letting loose for once was fun, but I don’t intend to make a habit of it. In fact, I need to start thinking of where I want my life to go from now on. I always imagined it being just Nick and I, settling down, having pups one day. But my whole world has been turned upside down. I am brought out of my reverie when we reach Damon and the guys. To my surprise, Zeke and Zane are still with them. They are looking at me with puppy dog eyes. Combined with them looking as hot as Chris Hemsworth at his finest, it is getting harder to resist the pull of the mate bond. It isn’t until their eyes darken in lust that I notice I am unknowingly licking my lips while staring at them. I salivate at the sight of them, they look so f*cking hot right now.

Zane POV

I gulp with the way she is staring at us, her gaze filled with lust. Although I wish it was love, I’ll take anything I can get for now. I really wished she would look at us like that when she is sober. The desire to have her is overwhelming, I am longing – no, craving – for her. Not just physically, but even more so emotionally. I want her to open up to me, to us. To trust us and love us as much as we love her. When she licks her lips absentmindedly whilst staring at us, I am a goner. My c*ck is twitching in my pants and all I want to do is grab her right now. But with Lola, I am never sure what to do. I am always scared I end up doing the wrong thing again. Damon clears his throat, breaking our little moment, and I have to resist the urge to punch him. He is her brother so I can’t, but damn it, we were having a moment. “As much as I love seeing you all eye f*ck each other, I’d rather not be a witness”. Lola’s mouth drops open and her cheeks turn red in embarrassment, it’s adorable. “I was not!” she pouts like a little girl and it makes her even more adorable, I can’t resist the chuckle bubbling up before I smile at her and give her a wink. She turns even more red if it were at all possible, before grabbing the she wolf’s hand and storming off towards the bar.

Lola POV

Horrified. Absolutely f*cking horrified pretty much sums it up. I need to fight this harder, I need to drown it out. “Let’s do shots!”. Nadia giggles “wow you have changed so much in the past years Lola, it’s so weird seeing you so confident and strong. And not to mention, drinking like a trucker”. I chuckle at her choice of words. “I guess I have changed a lot. But, I have always been strong. You know, I trained martial arts every day after school. I was just never able to fight back against them while they had their wolves and I didn’t. And, I was outnumbered”. Her mouth drops while I order more of that sambuca stuff with the bartender. Not going with shots, but whiskey glasses again. Nadia always used to know her way around a drink as well, so she should be able to handle it. “That is what you were doing after school every day?!”. “Well, yeah. What did you think I was doing? Meeting a secret lover even though I never dated?” I chuckle at her dumbfounded expression. “Well… I… I don’t know! Just not.. that!” we both laugh wholeheartedly, before the bartender interrupts us with 4 whiskey glasses of sambuca. When I pull my card out to pay, the bartender waves me off saying “it has been paid for”. I look at him confused, while he nods towards the other end of the bar. Following his line of sight, I see Felix holding up his glass while winking at me. I chuckle and shake my head at him, but I pick up the glass and hold it out to him anyway, mouthing a ‘thank you’.
