Kyla looked at her two friends who were concerned about her and said honestly, “It’s not because I’m older. It’s because I’ve undergone a liver transplant. The doctor said my liver function might get affected during the third trimester, and my body might not be able to take it.”

Lina was worried when she heard that. “Then… Then are you still going to keep the baby, Kyla?”

Kyla said, “Well, I’m not giving up for now. I’ll make up my mind after the consultation with the specialist from Municipal Women’s Hospital. But I’ll fight for the baby unless it’s necessary that I give them up.”

As she spoke, Kyla looked at Grace. “Grace, didn’t you risk your life for your three children too? You know it doesn’t matter who persuades me.”

Grace naturally understood Kyla’s current state the best, so she said, “But promise me, if the doctor says the chance of delivering your child safe is too slim during the consultation, then you-”

“Then I’ll see what I can do,” interrupted Kyla.

Just then, Lina, who had been sitting on the chair, suddenly frowned. She covered her belly with one hand as she looked at the two with panic on her face. She said, “Um… I think my water broke!”

Her water broke without warning!

Kyla and Grace had given birth before and knew what it meant when one’s water broke.

Therefore, Grace quickly said, “Get in my car. I’ll take you to the hospital. Don’t panic. Lie flat after you get into the car.”

Lina replied and tried to take a deep breath. Grace and Kyla quickly helped Lina into the passenger seat and then reclined it.

Lina lay down.

Kyla asked her mother to look after the store while she got into Grace’s car.

Grace drove while Kyla called Hadwin Stephenson. “Hadwin Stephenson? Lina’s water broke. We’re sending her to the hospital…”

“How is Lina doing?” Hadwin Stephenson asked urgently.

“She… She’s pretty calm right now,” said Kyla as she put the phone in front of Lina.

On the phone, Lina said while taking a deep breath, “Hadwin… The… The baby and I will be fine. Don’t… Don’t worry. Don’t… Don’t panic when you go to the hospital. Don’t drive yourself. Have the driver drive…”

She did not forget to warn him. She was afraid he might drive himself and get into an accident if he was distracted.

“Okay, I got it. Don’t be scared. Don’t be scared! You have me,” said Hadwin Stephenson, but his trembling voice sounded more scared than Lina.

Once the call was over, Lina continued taking deep breaths to relax, while Kyla kept talking to distract her.

Grace only wished she could reach the hospital immediately.

Fortunately, the hospital Lina had registered in was not far away from Kyla’s store. 20 minutes later, they finally arrived safely.

Hadwin Stephenson had already contacted the hospital, so as soon as their car arrived, doctors and nurses instantly carried Lina onto a stretcher and pushed her to the delivery room.

Kyla then finally found herself a little weak. “Lina… will deliver the baby safely, won’t she?”

“Yes, Hadwin Stephenson must have made all the preparations in the hospital. She also has all those specialists tending to her. She’ll be fine!” said Grace.

The two waited outside the delivery room. Moments later, Hadwin Stephenson also hurried over. As soon as he saw Grace and Kyla, he immediately asked, “How is Lina?”

“I don’t know. The doctors are still checking on her,” said Grace.

Moments later, a nurse came out of the delivery room and said, “Is Lina’s family here?”

“Yes!” Hadwin Stephenson replied immediately.

“The mother’s water broke too soon. Please come with me to handle the paperwork, and a family member can go in to accompany the mother…” the nurse said as she took Hadwin Stephenson to the registration place.

Hadwin Stephenson put on sterile clothing and followed the nurse into the delivery room, while Grace and Kyla continued to wait outside.

However, as time passed, the feeling of unease grew. It grew stronger when Grace saw several doctors hurrying into the delivery room.

“Grace, do you think… something happened in there?” Kyla asked nervously.

“No, everything should be fine. Lina’s pregnancy check-ups before this had all been normal,” said Grace, but she felt intensely uneasy.

When a nurse hurried out of the room, Grace immediately asked, “I’m Lina’s friend. How is Lina doing right now?

Has she… Has she delivered the baby?”

“The mother’s having a difficult labor.” The nurse hurried away after saying this.

Grace and Kyla both looked shocked.

‘Difficult labor…’

“No way!” Kyla exclaimed.

Grace was a little wobbly. She took a deep breath several times and took out her phone. However, her hands trembled violently as she tried calling Jason:

The call soon got through. As soon as Grace heard Jason’s voice, she could not help sobbing. “Jay, think… think of a way. Lina is having a difficult labor. Many doctors have entered the delivery room. Find every good obstetrician in Emerald City. Nothing must happen to Lina. No…”

She choked as she got to the end of her words.

Jason immediately said, “Okay, stop crying. I’ll think of something. Where are you right now?”

Grace gave him the hospital name, and Jason said, “Wait for me!” With that said, he hurriedly ended the phone call and rushed out of the office, leaving behind a group of people who was in a meeting.

The crowd looked at each other, wondering what had happened.

Terrence hurried out, caught up with Jason, and said, “Young master Reed, the meeting-”

“Postpone the meeting. Also, I need you to contact all the maternity specialists in tMason Swansonty right now. I want the best. Then get them to go to…” Jason told him the hospital where Lina was delivering the baby and entered the elevator.

Terrence accepted the task in confusion. ‘Maternity specialists?

‘Is someone having a baby?

‘Young Madam isn’t pregnant! But seeing Young master Reed looking so worried just now, it must be a big deal!’

Jason drove to the hospital. As soon as Grace saw Jason, she immediately cried harder. “Have you found any doctors? Lina… Lina’s condition seems to be getting worse.”

“Yes, the doctors should be here soon. Don’t worry. Don’t worry!” Jason quickly took Grace into his arms and comforted her softly.

He naturally knew how important Lina was to her, so he would not let anything happen to Lina.

“I didn’t expect Lina to have a difficult labor. Everything was fine when she went for her pregnancy check-ups! How did this happen? How…”

“Hadwin Stephenson must have already done a lot of preparations, and the doctors he chose should also be experienced,” said Jason.

Terrence soon hurried over and told them that tMason Swansonty’s top obstetricians had gathered in the hospital. They were meeting in a temporary office to find a solution for Lina’s a difficult labor.

“Meeting? How long will it take? How long can Lina hold on?” Grace panicked.
