Calvin yelled at him. Wil had told him once if he found Marrin he’d just hand the address over and state I’d found her. He’d not done

That

Why? Wil shook his head.

“Because of your dark obsession, Calvin, because you attacked her twice already put her in the hospital and injured her is why. I honestly didn’t believe you could stay out of it, and would leave it up to me to sort it out. And, well, I was right now, wasn’t I? You did find a way to push yourself into her life. Hell Calvin, you started a charity just to get to her or the twins.”

“It wasn’t supposed to come out or for her to find out yet. I sent one booklet to the school principal, they must have duplicated it and passed it to the students.”

“Well, what happens if Marilyn decides you’re still a threat to her, as well as her boys now? Did you think about that or only see it from your own personal perspective, whatever the hell that was!”

trying to show the boys that I’m not a tyrant or a threat to their

Calvin sighed heavily.

“Wil, I honestly was just trying to show the mother, that L

“Enough Calvin, you could well have just given Marilyn a reason to pack up her boys and move away once more, just leave and disappear like she did when she was Marrin. Do you actually understand that? You can’t fix this the way you think you can. You have done too much damage already with harming her.

“I have also confirmed the boys do know who the man that attacked their mother, and sent her to the hospital with multiple injuries, was in fact you. They overheard it from the nurses in the hospital. It’s too late for you to try and fix things with Marilyn or the twins,”

Wil muttered.

“Then what the hell am I supposed to do, William?”

Calvin snapped at him.

“I can’t just leave them out there alone without me.”

“Yes you can. They were all perfectly fine, leading happy, healthy lives for the past eight years. You were the one that disrupted that. You were supposed to do nothing until the AVO and restraining order were over. Then and only then could I see it not being reinstated against you.

“That restraining order is only from you to her, but I can pretty much guarantee the next one, which is coming. now, isn’t only going to be from you to her, but from you to her and the boys. You won’t be allowed anywhere near your

W children and not for six months. This will be a second intervention, so 12 months is what the judge will agree to.

“After being presented with the evidence that you had her tracked down, and to the point of finding out where the boys went to school, all the while under a restraining order and a contract between you and her which states you’ll leave her alone. No judge is going to deny her a new one. You’ll also be charged and could face jail time over this.”

Calvin frowned deeply at him and then ran a hand through his hair.

“I’ve not gone near them, stayed here the entire time.”

“Yes, but you sent others to do all your dirty work, which shows your obsession is still there, as for Phillipe, he will likely be charged and have his Pl license revoked and could well see jail time too, depending on how Liam wants to spin it.

“Your Pl took unlawful pictures of minors in how many settings, I wonder? Children he has no connection to, no right to take photos of. He was also inside their home, likely their very bedrooms, and touched their things. Liam could well spin it as Phillipe is a predator, a paedophile and the boys are his next target.

“You Calvin, and your obsession is going to see many innocent people end up in jail at the rate you’re going.

Im not going to help you with that. Will shook his head to Indicate no.

Then help me to fix it”

Calvin frowned. Clearly, he’d not thought everything through, and maybe he’d believed he was managing his obsession, but really he wasn’t. It had just turned him to find other ways to get to her, even though he’d stayed away from her, and just wanted confirmation the twins were his.

Wil he knew was all lawyer, looking at everything from a courtroom perspective, and from a legal standpoint, thinking about all the laws he’d breached and the ramifications that could follow on from his actions, and not just for himself but Phillipe as well.

7s there anything else I need to know, that you’ve done where Marilyn is concerned? I’m supposed to have a meeting with her next week, about Marilyn agreeing to see you but.”

Wil shrugged and left it unsaid.

“Maybe Calvin, I should just go and be her lawyer, it seems she does need protection from you.”

Clavin glared at Wil now. She didn’t need protection from him, he would never physically harm her… he sighed internally at that very thought, because he had in fact harmed her.

“You, Calvin, need to stop thinking you know best, and how to deal with Marilyn. You got it wrong all those years ago, went against my advice and now again, eight years on, you’re making all the same choices, doing everything wrong and again not listening to me and heeding my advice.”

Calvin watched as Wil turned away from him once more and started pulling books off the shelf. He’d not been able to convince his friend to stay here, only seemed to convince him he was an actual threat to Marilyn, and that Wil himself thought he needed to jump to her side and defend her from Calvin himself. How on earth had this turn of events come about?

“I see no point in being your attorney anymore, Calvin, you don’t listen to my legal advice. An attorney is only capable of helping if the client allows them to, and you clearly aren’t willing to allow me to do that. Don’t care about the advice I’ve given you right from the day Marilyn was here in town.”

“Wil… We’ve been best friends for 24 years.”

“Yes and still you won’t listen to me, where Marilyn is concerned. The most important thing in the world to you, and you still don’t listen to me. Went against everything I told you,”

“I always listen to you Wil, it’s just…”

Calvin huffed. He couldn’t even finish that sentence because Wil was right. He’d told him to stay away from her on the day he’d seen Marilyn here in Houston and gone against that advice. Had even muttered to himself ‘Sorry Wil.’ at the time.

“Just not where Marilyn or Marrin is concerned, right. But that is actually where you need to listen to me the most, now isn’t it! After all the damage you already did. Physically and emotionally,”

Wil stated simply.

Wil

He stood staring at Calvin; his friend didn’t seem to know what to do right this minute in time. But Wil had to find a way to get him to snap out of his obsession; it was obviously still with him. Though Wil could see that it was clearly less than what it had been before, because there was much less anger within the man.

Calvin had gone off on his own and found out the truth of who Marilyn was, albeit illegally so. He now knew that Calvin not only knew the truth, but also knew where Marilyn/Marrin lived and had children with him. Yet he had not lost control of himself.

He hadn’t gone off in a full fit of anger and dragged her and the twins back here, to Cliffside, to make them be near him. So something had changed inside of Calvin’s mind where she and the children were concerned.

Had the full reality of what he’d done to her as Marilyn, finally dawned on Calvin?

He was standing here arguing with Calvin not only to make a point to the man, but to see his actual reaction to it. There was no blowing of a gasket, no yelling and screaming and now charging off half??****d to get what he wanted, regardless of what she would want. It appeared to Wil that Calvin had in fact dealt with this knowledge, and managed to stay somewhat in control of himself.

“Why didn’t you go after her and drag her back here? Make her stand next to you? That is what you wanted to do to her, right? After all, she fooled you, stole your money and made you suffer and grieve the loss of her on purpose,”
