I stood beside Scarlett who frowned when she saw that Vladimir glared at me.
I wrapped my arm around her waist, pulling her to my c*hest, knowing that she needed me by her side.
She was frightened, that was something that I knew, but it wasn’t because she was scared of me. She was mostly worried about what the outcome of this was going to be, and needless to say, I couldn’t blame her. The last thing that I wanted to expect or accept was for someone like Killian to think that he could double cross my mate and wife.
“And her being your wife means?”
Vladimir asked, raising an eyebrow at me.
I let out a low growl that rumbled through the house’s walls. I knew that he was dragging this fight, and the thing is, I knew that he was not going to like the outcome of it. If anything, the man didn’t understand that I, as a person, did not accept anyone abusing my wife or upsetting her. I have done that enough for her to be able to bear, and that was something that I wasn’t even forgiving myself for. “It means that you are going to drop your f*ucking balls and apologize to her. Otherwise, you are not going to like how things are going to turn out, and I don’t give two f*ucks that this is your ‘pack’ and your territory. My wife is a red line, and I believe that you are smart enough to know that by now.” I said, glaring at the man who let out a low chuckle. He took a step toward me and I slowly pushed Scarlett behind me before glaring daggers at him. I could hear his pack members gathering around, clearly ready for a fight that would occur. But I wasn’t stupid enough to fight an Alpha like him on my own.
The man has not only tricked my pack and I, but he used his power for his own favor, and that wasn’t something that I was going to let him get away with; however, he was going to find out, my way, what it meant to mess with the Alpha of Alphas, and that was something that he wasn’t going to like.
I knew that my growl not only warned him, but called forthose who were close. I knew that they were waiting for my signal. I was actually surprised that they managed to get to Russia or to even find me to begin with. But then again, they were my pack members for a reason, and I should have expected that they would.
It just pained me that Carter wasn’t as smart as those who have chosen to fight along my side. Things would have been a lot easier for all of us if they did. But then again, that wasn’t something that I wasn’t going to argue or speak about. Whatever happened has happened, and now we were to deal with the consequences; the difference is, now, I was not alone, and nor was my mate. That was something that I was going to prove to Vladimir.
“I am amazed by how tough you think you are being in grounds that don’t even belong to you. Needless to say, you don’t even have any that belong to you anymore. As far as I am concerned you, and that wife of yours are now bound to ME as an Alpha, and the sooner you understand that, the better it would be for you.” He said, and I laughed and shook my head at him. I knew that Scarlett wasn’t liking where things were going. I was just thankful for the fact that she chose to stay quiet. Despite me being proud of her for fending for herself and our marriage. The woman didn’t need to do so. If anything, I wouldn’t have found out if I hadn’t seen her in this state, but seeing this side of her, I couldn’t help but admire her a lot more than I already did.
“I don’t need to have a territory for me to be who I am. Needless to say, I believe that you should know that you wouldn’t have bargained with me to take and claim my grounds if you would have known that you could fight to get it.” I said, and he shook his head at me. “Killing you was not going to be worth it, but I am starting to think that I have done the wrong thing deciding not to. But then again, it is never too late to do so, don’t you think?” He asked, glaring daggers at me before taking a step back and pulling his gun out.
My eyes widened for a second, and I couldn’t help but worry about my wife; however, I simply extended my hand behind me and pushed my wife back, shielding her with my b*ody. If I was to be shot, then the last thing that I wanted to do was hurt her. The man knew that he was playing with fire and he was going to do everything in his power to taunt me, but that wasn’t something that I was going to allow him to get.
“If you have the guts, pull the trigger, but I think that you would find yourself surprised when your whole pack is under attack.” I said, glaring at the man who frowned in confusion before low growls filled the air around us. Scarlett wrapped her hand around my arm, squeezing it gently, and I smiled as I looked at her over my shoulder before turning my attention to the Alpha. “The pack members that you have startled when you found out that they have followed their Alpha are here. I do believe that you would ask how you didn’t feel their presence, and I will answer by telling you, Alpha’s order.”
Having given them the order to mask their scents. I knew that they would need to do so if they were try and near the pack’s ground.
The man had his people surrounding the area, and I knew that if any of them were caught, they would have ended up dead, and that wasn’t something that I wanted for them. If anything, as their Alpha, I wanted nothing but to keep them safe, and that was something that I was determined to do and prove to them.
“What is the f*ucking meaning of this?” He asked, frowning in confusion as he processed the h*ard state that he was in right now. Not only was he put in a tough situation, but his whole pack was watching him, and that wasn’t something that any Alpha would want. But that was the least of my concerns right now.
The bastard killed a pack member, and that was something that he thought that he would be able to get away with. And not only that, he tried framing me for it, and that itself was something that he was going to f*ucking pay for.
“It means that your house is f*ucking surrounded. And that I f*ucking suggest that you put the gun down before one growl has your whole pack under attack.” I said, glaring at the man. “And believe me, the last thing that you would want to deal with right now, is a pack that is in rage.”
