Chapter 890 – A Second Chance with My Billionaire Love

Flossie was languid and emotionless as she spoke, but she also looked pathetic. She seemed to have lost all hope.

“You’re saying…” Leia’s heart skipped a beat, and she felt sorry for Flossie. “You’re saying that Justin had asked Halston to come pick you up, but he never came. That means…he didn’t object to you meeting Justin’s parents. Am I right?”

Flossie glanced at Leia and heaved a long sigh. “Yes, you’re right. You don’t have to make it that clear. I can understand it.”

She had long seen through Halston’s mind, but she was still heartbroken when Leia repeated that in detail.

“Is Halston out of his mind? He gave up on you, and he still refused to come over since you’re about to meet Justin’s parents!” Leia was furious-although she knew that Halston was a scumbag, it was more hurtful this time.

In the past, Flossie and Halston would fight and then make peace after a while. It was the spice of their romance. They would sometimes bicker with each other.

Although Leia kept scolding Halston and persuading Flossie to forget about Halston, she felt that they would make peace sooner or later. There must be a misunderstanding between them. Everything would be fine once they resolved it.

However… Flossie decided to give Halston up.

“So, I should forget about him and take another path since this path is blocked.” Flossie took a deep breath and looked at the blue sky above the airport. She seemed to be relieved. “From now on, he’s no longer a part of my life.”

Justin walked over and tapped his wristwatch. “It’s almost time. Let’s go.”

“Okay.” Flossie nodded, then said to Leia, “Just go home and take good care of Liam. Tell my brother and kids that I’m fine. I’ll be back at Beach City soon.”

“Uh…” Leia wanted to stop Flossie from going to Beach City, but she couldn’t find a reason to make Flossie refuse.

Of course, Flossie had to stop the program which never responded.

“Fine. Take care. Call me immediately if anything happens!” Leia, enlightened, decided to respect Flossie’s choices. She hugged Flossie and sobbed, “I hope you’ll pick happiness no matter who you choose to be with!”

“Of course. I want you to do the same.” Flossie hugged Leia firmly.

Then, she got into the small private plane bound for North City with Justin.

“She left…” Xavier muttered.

He watched the plane take off for North City as he sat in the lobby, feeling complicated. He felt sorry for Halston, but at the same time, he felt that Halston had brought it upon himself. Being on Halston’s side, Xavier had been trying to get Halston and Flossie together. Yet, Halston allowed his beloved and rival in love to be together… No normal person could do that.

Xavier had persuaded and reminded Halston so many times, but Halston never budged. Since that was the case, he bore no sympathy if Halston was brokenhearted after losing Flossie.

Leia watched the plane until it vanished out of sight. Feeling melancholic, she asked Xavier, “Have you ever asked Halston what happened between them?”

“I have, but he didn’t tell me.” Xavier shook his head. For the first time, he shunned Halston, whom he had always supported. “He said they weren’t meant to be together, but I think he’s just being an irresponsible coward!”

“Yeah, you’re right. You understand! I like the way you think!”

It was Leia’s first time seeing Xavier rebuking Halston so fiercely. Her eyes brightened and she gave him a thumbs-up.

In the past, they sided with different people and would start bickering if there was a disagreement. The reason for their conflicts was that Xavier sided with Halston while Leia sided with Flossie. As they bickered, the topic would gradually shift to their issues.

But now, for the first time, they took the same side. Both felt that Halston was a scumbag. It was an unprecedented harmony.

“Whatever his troubles are, he’s doing something scummy right now,” Xavier muttered, disappointed with Halston. He added furiously, “As long as they love each other, they can talk things out and settle their issues. But no, they just had to screw around with stupid tricks like this. It pisses me off!”

“What trick?” Leia asked; she was a bit unnerved to see Xavier so indignant. Though this concerned Halston and Flossie, he seemed quite agitated. It seemed he was taking this issue too seriously.

“She chose to marry the wrong guy and spend the rest of her life missing the right guy.” Xavier hit the nail on the head.

Halston got involved with Jessanna. At the same time, something seemed to be wrong with Flossie and she insisted on meeting Justin’s parents.

In short, they were lying to themselves.

Xavier found it ridiculous that they would break up and date someone else, when in truth they loved each other passionately and had gone through so much together.

They were just cowards who refused to face their problems head-on.

“Well said! I agree.”

For the first time, Leia and Xavier shared the same thoughts on the issues related to love. Aside from Halston and Flossie, there were many similar examples. Leia was convinced Liam was doing the same thing.

She couldn’t understand why they had to hurt themselves like that. It would be better to make peace.

Suddenly, Xavier turned around and looked at Leia passionately, and declared with utmost seriousness, “So, we can’t do that!”

Having his face so close to hers so suddenly, Leia’s heartbeat quickened. She pursed her lips and stood up shyly. “You’re nuts! No, stop talking about us. We don’t have anything to do with each other. I don’t care what you want to do, either.”

Xavier leaned against the chair, his pose mischievous but leisurely. When he saw her blush, he raised his brow and said, “We’ll be bound together forever, sooner or later. I don’t want there to be regrets between us-like those two.”

“You’re out of your mind!” Leia blushed even more and ran to Liam awkwardly. Panicky, she chose to run away.

They were dating, but it was the first time Xavier mentioned forever. He was a playboy, so it seemed unbelievable that he would settle down with her. She didn’t believe that at all.

Before long, Leia and the others boarded the plane to return to Beach City together.

Unbeknownst to anyone, Halston was sitting on a seat near the window of a secluded corner. He watched the planes with a contemplating gaze.

He had reached this fort earlier than Justin and the rest, but he knew he wasn’t in a position to make Flossie stay. Their future would either end abruptly like today, or drag on miserably. He picked the easier choice and decided to watch Flossie gain happiness with another man.

Halston approved of Justin’s family background, character, and loyalty toward Flossie. Besides, asking Justin to save Flossie was actually a test to sound Justin out.

Justin didn’t retreat. Instead, he brought along an army to confront the mighty Jenkins family. It proved that he could risk his life for Flossie, just like Halston.

Hence, Halston felt that Justin was qualified enough to replace him and spend the rest of his life with Flossie.

Although his path with Flossie would end here, seeing Flossie happy was enough for him.

Halston remained at the airport from noon till evening. The setting sun painted his figure a lonely, melancholic color.

“Flossie, I pray that you’ll be happy,” Halston whispered, his heart breaking into pieces.

“Mmph!”

Flossie was sitting beside the window, watching the floating clouds up in the sky when a sudden pain gripped her heart-as if it was clenched tight.

“What’s wrong?” Justin asked nervously. Sitting across from her, he could feel something wrong with her.

“I’m fine.” Flossie shook her head and tried to soothe her stuffy chest. “My heart suddenly hurt just now. I guess it’s because of the sudden weightlessness when the plane took off.” Justin sighed in relief. “I’ve heard that some people might get dizzy or feel their ears ring because of weightlessness, but I’ve never heard of hearts aching.”

“It’s fine. It’s something rare, I guess. I’ll feel better after a while.” Flossie waved his concerns away, taking a deep breath.

She picked up the cup in front of her and sipped some water, and felt better. Perhaps the water had cooled her heart.

However, Justin felt a little uneasy. He knew her heart wasn’t his though their destination was the same.

“If you can’t forget about him, you don’t have to get off the plane once we land. You can ask the airport to change your flight to Beach City.” Justin flexed his fingers, veins bulging on the back of his hands. He didn’t mean his words, but tried his best to say them for Flossie’s sake.

“You…” After a pause, Flossie looked up. Tears gleamed in her eyes, but she looked certain.” You don’t want me anymore, do you?”
