Nelson Corbyn stared blankly at Grace in front of him, who had been helping him since he met Grace at a very young age.

‘My dream is to become a lawyer like aunt Cummins, who can help people who were wronged like Mommy.

‘Now, I’m being wronged by my teacher, my classmates, and my classmates’ parents.

‘But aunt Cummins is… willing to trust me. aunt Cummins’s eyes are telling me that she will believe whatever I say as long as I tell the truth!

won’t Mommy be sadder if she finds out about the truth?”

Nelson Corbyn hesitated.

His classmate’s parents sneered. “Do you expect a deaf person to speak to you when he has lost his hearing aid? How good can the son of an ex-convict be?”

“What did you say? What do you mean by an ex-convict? It was a court misjudgment. I can sue you for slander for talking like that!” scolded Lina.

“What slander? Has she never been in prison? Even if the court misjudged, it was her own fault. She was too suspicious that the court made a misjudgment. Otherwise, why would the court misjudge her but not others?” They started victim-blaming.

Lina got so furious that she almost prepared to fight them with her pregnant belly.

Grace stopped her best friend and looked at Nelson Corbyn again. “Nelson, do you want to suffer this injustice and have your mommy suffer it with you? You’re still a kid. You can’t bear too much burden. But Aunt Lina and I can help you solve these problems.”

Kyla also spoke to her son with sign language, asking him to tell the truth.

Nelson Corbyn finally told Grace in sign language that his classmates had bumped into him on purpose. After he fell, they snatched his hearing aid and wanted to crush it. He only fought to get his hearing aid back!

“Do they often do that to you?” asked Grace.

Nelson Corbyn nodded.

“Why? Is there a reason?” asked Grace.

Nelson Corbyn continued to speak in sign language. Grace’s nose could not help feeling sore after understanding it.

Kyla suddenly hugged her son while crying. “I’m sorry… I’m sorry!”

understand what Nelson Corbyn had just said. She could only ask Grace anxiously, “What’s Nelson saying? Why is Kyla crying like that?”

Grace said with a heavy voice, “Nelson said that the kids he fought with today often bully him in class. They say that his mother’s an ex-convict and that he’s disabled, so he doesn’t deserve to be in the same classroom as them.”

Lina’s eyes widened as she listened. She did not expect third graders to… behave like this. She thought children this age should be simple, but now…

Should Nelson be discriminated against because Kyla was falsely accused and sent to prison and because he could not hear?

Just then, Lina’s phone rang. She answered the phone and heard Hadwin Stephenson’s voice from the other end of the line. She immediately sobbed nasally, “Hadwin…”

Hadwin Stephenson, who was on the other end of the line, heard Lina crying and immediately asked, “Lina, what’s the matter? What happened?”

However, Lina had no idea how to tell Hadwin Stephenson what had happened here, so Hadwin Stephenson only said, “Where are you now? I’ll come over!”

“I… I’m at the discipline office in Nelson’s school,” said Lina.

Hadwin Stephenson knew about Nelson Corbyn’s school. It was just next to Kyla’s store.

Hadwin Stephenson hurriedly ended the call. After Lina ended the call, the married couple immediately said sarcastically, “What’s the matter? Are you calling someone here? It doesn’t matter if someone else comes.

Speaking of which, disabled people should go to schools for disabled people. If the school accepts disabled students, others will probably wonder when it became a school for the disabled!”

Grace’s face darkened. “Sir, please be polite. You’re already suspected of discrimination by saying that!”

“What’s the matter? I donate a lot of money to this school every year. Don’t I have the right to think that some students aren’t fit for this school?” the man said haughtily.

The woman nearby also said to the teacher, “I don’t want to see disabled students and my son in the same class. If you insist on letting this child attend your school, we will no longer donate to this school. I’m certain a lot of parents won’t want their children in the same classroom as a disabled child.”

It was a direct threat.

The class teacher hurriedly gave them all sorts of compliments. After all, the person in front of them was the school’s VIP. Every year, they would donate millions to the school. Even the principal was respectful to them.

If they did join forces with other parents to go on strike, the class teacher would be in trouble.

The class teacher knew exactly what was going on, so they said to Kyla, “Nelson Corbyn’s mom, hurry and apologize to them. Or I will have to tell the principal that your child is unfit to study here and you’ll have to transfer schools.”

Kyla held her son in her arms but felt disappointed.

She knew better than anyone else how hard it was to send her child to a regular school. Her son should have been a blessed child with good health, but because of her… he had to suffer at a young age.

Now… he was even being forced to apologize!

Once he apologized, it would be tantamount to admitting that it was her son’s fault! However, Nelson did nothing wrong!

won’t apologize, nor will I let my son apologize. I believe everything my son said. My son did nothing wrong!”

“Nelson Corbyn’s mom, have you thought this through? If you don’t apologize, I won’t be able to put in a good word for you!” the class teacher said.

Kyla smiled sarcastically. “You’re a teacher. You should find out the truth instead of taking sides like this. People would think you’re their spokesperson!”

“You…” The class teacher’s face instantly went red.

The mother of the boy who fought with Nelson snorted coldly. “It doesn’t matter if you apologize or not. Our children don’t want to be in the same classroom with a child from such a family!”

Lina was so mad that she nearly forgot about her pregnancy and started rolling up her sleeves to start scolding.

However, a voice suddenly rang out at the door, “Since you don’t want to be in the same classroom, then you can leave the school.”

The people in the discipline office all looked over and saw a tall figure entering the room. He was wearing a suit and tie. He had a handsome face that was somewhat feminine. It was Hadwin Stephenson!

Lina was instantly delighted when she saw Hadwin Stephenson come over. “Hadwin!”

“Your eyes are red.” Hadwin Stephenson went up to Lina and raised his hand to caress her red eyes. “What’s going on? Are they kicking Nelson out of school?”

“Yeah, they’re going too far,” said Lina as she briefed Hadwin Stephenson about it.

Hadwin Stephenson glanced coldly at the class teacher and the married couple. “They’ve indeed gone too far.”

Although he had no feelings for Nelson, he knew that Lina adored the deaf child. He would not tolerate others insulting the child Lina adored.

Seeing this, the class teacher said with displeasure on their face, “This is the discipline office. If you’re not a parent, please leave. I’ll only talk to the parents about this.” They were trying to kick Grace, Lina, and Hadwin Stephenson out of the discipline office.

“Really?” Hadwin Stephenson took out his phone, dialed a number, and said to the person on the other end of the line, “I’m Hadwin Stephenson. I’m having some issues here. Please ask the principal of this school to come to the discipline office.”

Hadwin Stephenson then gave them the name of the school.

The student’s mother looked at Hadwin Stephenson like he was a fool. “Who do you think you are? If anyone can just summon the principal, won’t the principal be awfully busy?”

The class teacher also looked angrily at Hadwin Stephenson, only thinking he was here to cause trouble! “Sir, please leave immediately, or I’ll call security.”

Meanwhile, the student’s father was staring at Hadwin Stephenson’s face, finding it familiar. Besides, when he made the phone call, he had called himself Hadwin Stephenson.
