“Mr. Armstead, my mother’s reaction may be because she’s too happy to see you. I hope you don’t mind.”
Deacon hadn’t utter a word since he came in. His deep and narrow eyes landed on
Monica’s body, and his thin lips arched in a scoff.
Patrick almost jerked. He questioned in a low voice,
“Monica, when did you meet President Armstead? Why didn’t you tell me?”
Monica’s body was quickly covered in sweat.
“I…I…” She stammered.
Pamela noticed that Monica was a little embarrassed and ashamed before Deacon. She swiftly changed the topic.
“Mr. Armstead, let me tell you something very hilarious. Oriana’s supposed husband claims to be her butler. And the now butler says that Oriana’s birthday will celebrated in the top floor by her husband. Isn’t it amusing?” She let out a little hysterical laugh and rubbed her hands on Deacon’s shoulder.
Deacon looked up and his eyes fell on Oriana. Oriana’s pair of black eyes were also looking at him.
Looking at each other, Deacon slowly licked his lips and a gentle smile appeared on his handsome face.
“Why didn’t you tell them who your husband is?”
Oriana shuddered for a moment and then replied,
“Even if I were them, I wouldn’t believe. They’ll all laugh at me.”
“I’m here. No one will dare to laugh at you. Tell them who your husband is.” Deacon’s low and magnetic voice was full of connivance.
Pamela, Monica, Patrick and everyone in the hall were bemused. They really couldn’t comprehend what was going on.
The hall was so silent, that a tiny needle would be heard if fallen to the ground.
Oriana turned to face the confused Pamela.
“My husband is Deacon Armstead.”
Loud gasps were heard in the hall. As the entire hall was engulfed with perplexity.
What? What was Oriana saying? Was her husband Deacon Armstead?
No, it’s not true!
Pamela’s beautiful face had turned wan. All the brightness that she previously exuded was completely wiped away. She felt as though she was pushed into a freezing cold pool.
Mr. Henry courtesied respectfully, with his head bowed.
“Young master.”
Deacon walked over with his long legs. Everyone hastily gave way. He came to Oriana as an elegant lion. walking through the jungle.
His hands caressed Oriana’s face. In the presence of everyone, he gently kissed Oriana’s forehead.
“Mrs. Armstead, my princess, happy birthday.”
The entire hall had exploded with murmurs.
“No way!”
“So the owner of the Red Villa is Deacon!”
“So Oriana married Deacon!”
Patrick and Monica were so perplexed that they felt an electric current flow through their body.
They had never imagined that the owner of the Red Villa would be Deacon. Oriana was already Mrs. Armstead!
Pamela’s pupils shrank, and her heart was completely shattered. Over the years, she had always dreamt of marrying Deacon. She had always envisioned the Mrs. Deacon
Armstead position!
“No, it’s not true!” Pamela hastily stepped forward and looked at Deacon with red eyes.
Mr. Armstead, you’re joking, aren’t you?”
Deacon let go of Oriana He wrapped his hands around Oriana’s soft waist and protected her
For you my Mrs Armstead, I’ll light a dozen fireworks.”
“No!” Pamela clenched her fists. She couldn’t stay sane or rational, she quickly probed desperately,
“Mr. Armstead, have you forgotten? You promised to surprise me on my birthday.”
Deacon’s handsome face was calm. He was indifferent and alienated.
“Isn’t this a surprise?”
Pamela suddenly found it difficult to breathe. She finally understood what Deacon implied by ‘surprise‘. She realized that the fake breakup was all planned inorder for them to humiliate her on her birthday.
Many people were aware of Oriana and Deacon’s relationship. Raven, Harry and North, they all knew. She had even spoken ill of Oriana’s husband in the Red Villa before them.
She was such an idiot!
Pamela was of the habit of comparing herself with Oriana. But now she like a compete loser. The embarrassment and humiliation were too much for her.
Pamela didn’t want to believe what she had just heard, she kept shaking her head in denial.
“I still don’t believe it, Deacon, you didn’t marry Oriana, did you? Oriana, why did you steal my man? You know how much I love Deacon. My goal was to marry him, how can you be his wife!” Pamela fired furiously.
Seeing her breakdown this way made Oriana get a glimpse of the obsession that Pamela had for Deacon.
Oriana’s bright eyes stared at Pamela,
“Pamela, don’t you understand how I became Mrs. Armstead? I didn’t steal your man, but you willingly gave him to me. Originally, you could have been Mrs. Armstead, but you didn’t want it.”
What?
Pamela felt as though she had been electrocuted. Oriana’s words kept echoing in
Pamela’s ears like a spell. She could have been married into the Red Villa, and she would have become Mrs. Armstead. How did she lose the opportunity?
Pamela’s legs softened and she almost collapsed to the ground. Fortunately, Monica stepped forward and supported Pamela.
Monica looked at Deacon awkwardly, she muttered shamelessly,
“Mr. Armstead, don’t be deceived by Oriana’s innocent appearance. Infact, she’s perfect at seducing people.”
“Mrs. Hendrix, I know better than anyone what kind of an individual that my wife is. I also hope that you’ll be careful with your words and deeds. I am very protective of the people that I love.” Deacon’s sharp eyes fell on Monica, interrupting her abruptly.
Monica’s nous went numb. She blinked and gritted her teeth powerlessly.
Pamela’s eyes were reddened as she looked at Monica weakly,
“Mom…”
gave me everything that you ever dreamt of. I kinda contemplated if she loves me.”
Oriana scorned with a sweet laugh.
“Oriana, you! Pamela, don’t listen to her provocative words. Mom wasn’t aware of this initially.” Monica tried defending herself.
Pamela’s brain nerves were stinging. She immediately pushed Monica away and was unwilling to spare her another glance.
Pamela was her most treasured daughter. Now that she was pushed away by Pamela,
Monica felt extremely sad. She swiftly turned to Patrick,
“Patrick, I…”
Patrick understood perfectly what was going on. It was impossible for his favourite daughter, Pamela, to marry Deacon Armstead.
It was all Monica’s fault, because it was Monica who had planned the marriage. She had given Pamela’s splendid life to Oriana on a platter of gold.
Patrick glowered at Monica.
“Shut up! Don’t you dare call me!”
Monica’s heart was shattered. She had just found her way back to Patrick’s heart and now they were back to how they previously were.
This time, she wasn’t only abhorred by her husband, but she was also abandoned by her daughter.
Patrick looked at Oriana. He smirked and muttered,
“Oriana, everything that happened in the past is my fault. Dad was deceived. You have to believe that dad loves you…
