Filed to story: A Second Chance with My Billionaire Love
“Why? Did I say anything wrong?” Mateo looked at Flossie innocently. He fearlessly sought Flossie’s confirmation. “If my information is right, the person you love the most is Halston. I’m sure you want to see the person you love the most when you’re about to die. There’s nothing wrong with this logic.”
Flossie coldly glanced at Mateo as if the latter was dumb. “Do you care that much about who I love the most?”
“Of course!” Mateo grinned at Liam. “Someone else cares about it more than me!”
“Fine, I’ll tell you guys.” Flossie nodded and calmly looked at the river not far away. “I admit that I still want to see him. At the very least, I want to meet him one last time and ask him a serious question.”
“What question is that?” Liam, Leia, and Mateo asked curiously in unison.
“If we could go back in time, I wanted to know if he still wanted to start over with me.”
Flossie kept gazing at the river as she gloomily answered their question, but it seemed like she was just asking herself. “Tsk!”
The three of them rolled their eyes in unison and looked speechless.
“Look, Liam. She’s the top love-struck idiot. She’ll never learn though she’d suffered much.” Leia shook her head and sighed. She felt sorry for Flossie’s bad luck and disappointing actions.
Although Leia was a love-struck fool herself, she was better than Flossie. She would quickly retreat if she found anything wrong unless the guy shamelessly pestered her. Also, he had to show his sincerity. Only then would she forgive him.
Flossie was way worse. She suffered countless times because of one single man, but she didn’t even hate him. She even wanted to ask him if they could start over.
No one could be as “humble” as her.
Flossie used to be a bright and awesome figure, and it seemed like there was nothing she could not resolve. Yet, she lost herself several times because of a man. It infuriated Leia.
Leia was not alone in feeling that way. Liam shared her sentiments and gnashed his teeth furiously.
“Seriously, I wonder how he bewitched you. Why are you so infatuated with him? Did you forget how many times he hurt you? You still want to start over with him so many times! Aren’t you sick of him?”
Sneering, he added contemptuously, “If you guys wanted to start over, you guys would have done that a long time ago. Things wouldn’t have ended so badly for you guys.”
“The ending?” Flossie looked calm. “Men are all the same. They’re selfish and hypocritical. I want to ask him if we can start over not because I want to start over with him. I just…”
After a pause, she stopped talking. She wanted to raise that question just because she wanted to see Halston’s face full of regret.
When she learned that she would die soon, she stopped taking things seriously. Yet, she was still obsessed with Halston. She hoped to see his regret and heartbroken face. It would be the best way to strike back.
“But what? Are you still fantasizing about something?” Liam had been with Flossie for many years. Naturally, he knew what was on her mind.
“Stop fantasizing,” he said cruelly. “He’s embracing his lover and acting lovey-dovey with her now. He won’t regret it. If he regretted it, he would have long rushed here to save you. Do you think he can’t find your location, given his power? Obviously, he knows you’re in danger. Let’s be blunt, he doesn’t care about you at all…”
“Shut up, Liamn!” Leia shouted.
Although she thought Halston was a bastard, Liam’s frank words were very hurtful. As an outsider, she found it heartbreaking, let alone Flossie, who was the person concerned.
“Why can’t I talk about it?” Liam refused to stop.
He hated himself for not returning to Beach City sooner to expose that cruel reality earlier. Flossie sank deeper into that mess.
They were about to get killed soon, so Liam hoped that he could knock some sense into Flossie before she died. At the very least, she would leave with her sanity. Then, she wouldn’t be so muddle-headed in her next life and place all her hopes on one single man.
“Stop fantasizing! If you guys could make peace, that would have happened a long time ago. He would have regretted it if he could. In short, he changed his mind.”
Liam added with indignation, “He changed his mind. Stop wasting your time and effort on him. Stop wondering if he’ll regret it or not. All you need to know is to stop having anything to do with him in your next life. Then, you’ll be freed!” “I know.” Flossie laughed at herself. “I’ll stop thinking about that. Let’s go to hell happily!”
At that time, Macsen walked over after bandaging his neck. He cracked a twisted smile while watching the four people who were tiedup,
“Come! Let’s skin them and make lamps!”
“What?”
When Leia heard that, she swallowed and her hair stood on end. Although she didn’t know what it meant, using human skin was terrifying
“You guys look confused. I’m sure you don’t know what that is…” Macsen was calmer since his neck was bandaged. He said generously to his subordinate, “Come and explain it to them. Prepare them for fear that the lamp might not be bright enough because they’re too nervous.”
“Okay, boss!” Macsen’s subordinate nodded. He walked to them and said arrogantly, “Well, we’ll use a machete to skin people from head to toe to make lamps. The light from these lamps is blurry and beautiful. It’s a top and valuable item.”
“That’s crazy!” After listening to that explanation, a chill ran down Leia’s spine. She gnashed her teeth and said to Macsen, “Are you out of your mind? That’s a crazy habit! Aren’t you worried the victims might come demanding your life in the middle of the night?”
The people here were used to a human lamp, so it became common among them. It made one wonder why people could be that cruel and wicked. It was unnatural.
“Haha! They couldn’t do anything about me when they were alive. How could they demand my life when they died? Aren’t you naive?”
Macsen laughed arrogantly.
Then he added icily, “I don’t believe in evil spirits, let alone karma. If there’s such a thing, why isn’t there any punishment for the guy who got my girlfriend to die so miserably? It’s been many years since she’s passed.”
“I’m not sure about other people, but I’m sure you’ll be punished!” Glaring at Macsen, Leia said firmly, “I’m confident there are people who love us deeply. When they learn that we’ve died miserably at your hands, they’ll make you pay the same price and skin you alive too!”
After a pause, Leia added, “So, I think you should get over yourself. Go get someone else to satisfy your crazy ideas instead of us! If not, you might get yourself killed in the end.”
“Mm, that’s logical…” Macsen nodded and cracked a sinister smile. “You’re so good at talking. I’m sure your skin is the best. Let’s start with you. You can be an example for your friends.”
Then, he instructed his subordinate, “Stop wasting time. We’ve wasted one night. I’m getting impatient. Do it now!” “Okay, boss.”
His subordinate swiftly fished out a shiny and large machete, and walked toward Lela with a cruel expression.
Since Macsen was getting serious, Liam sweated anxiously. He tried his best to struggle out of the rope as he screamed at Macsen, his eyes teary.
“Are you out of your mind, Macsen? Stop now! We can forget about all of this since we’re acquaintances, but if you harm my sister, everything will be too late!”
Previously, Liam and Macsen were close. They would have a drink together when Macsen occasionally returned to the fort.
At that time, Liam was aware of Macsen’s crazy and wicked deeds. He found Macsen straightforward and open. Macsen would say anything he wanted without hiding anything. Liam loved conversing with Macsen more than with the hypocritical Mateo.
But then, he learned that Macsen was not straightforward or open he was just insane!
Crazy people would only care about their enjoyment instead of the consequences.
Macsen would skin them alive-he wasn’t bluffing.
“Everything will be too late?” Macsen laughed. “I just want to feel great now. The skin of ordinary people won’t cut it.”
While Macsen was talking, his subordinate reached Leia and grabbed her neck with one hand. A light was reflected on the shiny machete; it seemed he was about to slash Leia.
Frightened, Leia hunched and screamed in terror. “Ah, no! Save me, Liam! Flossie, save me!”
“Stop!” Reia yelled at Macsen, anxious. “What do you want to let us go? Tell me, I’ll do it!”
At first, she was carefree. She was fine even if she got killed and couldn’t be bothered to resist. However, she grew restless since her friend was about to be harmed. She would rather take Lela’s place.
“Stop stalling for time. You’ve used this trick too many times tonight. Do you think I’ll be fooled again?” Macsen sneered. “You’re too vicious and nearly bit off my neck. I’m just avenging myself!”
“Then, you’re asking for trouble!” Flossie’s gaze grew sharp. “Listen. If you harm her, you’ll die very miserably right away!”
