I couldn’t hold back the tears after they announced my son as the new alpha. The overwhelming joy on his and his father’s faces was priceless. I could feel their excitement and love exuding from within them. When Iris removed the bindings, Maddix jumped into his dad’s arms. They stood in their embrace and savored the moment. Iris had to remind them that we still had to induct a Luna. Maddix started to laugh and apologized to Iris. He then turned to me and apologized, and then Riley. We were all so happy, it didn’t bother us at all. The pack members laughed and cried right along with us. Once my men were out of the way, Iris called Riley and I to stand with Maddix. She took fresh bindings and bound Maddix and Riley together, and Riley and me together.
“Now that we have our Alpha taken care of, let’s take care of his Luna. This is a new meeting for me. It is the first time I have met our Alpha’s mate, Riley Harper of Ruby Meadows. As we all know, Ruby Meadows is our Coven pack run by high witch Luke Bastille. Our current Luna’s cousin. This is a first for Blood Moon, and another blessing to say the least. Riley, does not have a wolf currently. She has the option of becoming a hybrid wolf, if she so chooses. However, the Royal Council has agreed that it will not be a requirement for her to become or remain Luna. I believe in my whole heart that she will be an outstanding Luna to this pack.
Luna Melian, would you like to say something?” Iris spoke. I nodded my head, and I turned to my son and his mate. “I have been Luna of Blood Moon for a long time. I have watched things fall apart, and I have watched them come back together better than ever. If you think it’s easy, it’s not. It’s a lot of work, a lot of compassion, a lot of tears and a lot of sweat. You will be tried, but the good times will always overpower the bad. Always stand together, no matter what. There will be times you don’t agree. Hell, there will be times when you think you will never get through what you are dealing with. However, I assure you that you will. Defend each other when needed, support each other always, and never go to bed angry. Be kind to yourself, because you will beat yourself up by wondering if you made the right decisions. If you made the decision, it’s the right one. Your Grandma Gretchen taught me that.
Riley, it is my honor to pass on my power and title of Luna of Blood Moon onto you. I know you will be an amazing Luna. You will be just what this pack needs at all times. Welcome to our family, sweetheart.” I said proudly. I turned to look at Iris, and she continued where I left off. “Riley Harper, do you promise to uphold the standards placed before you by your mate and Alpha, Maddix Young? Do you promise to put the needs of your pack and pledge loyalty not only to your Alpha but to the pack as well? The task of the Luna is to take care and nurture her pack. Do you promise to uphold the duty of carrying out those tasks?” she asked Riley. Riley smiled and said, “I, Riley Harper, promise to uphold all the duties of the Luna, as well as pledge my loyalty to the Blood Moon pack, as well as my mate and Alpha, Maddix Young.” Iris, first cut my palm and then Riley’s. Together we dripped our blood into the Luna chalice, and after the wine was added, Riley drank the concoction. I felt the change of power and title, and I could tell Riley received them. Her eyes went wide, and she let out a gasp, as the voices of the pack filled her head. When she recited her pledge, she covered both bases. She not only became Luna, but an official pack member. All that was left was for her and Maddix to make their vows to one another.
Iris removed the binds from Riley and me, and had Riley and Maddix face one another. “Alpha Maddix, Luna Riley, please face one another and join your unbound hand. As we move onto the next ceremonial event, I would like to welcome you both officially as the leaders of Blood Moon. Now that all the formalities are out of the way, our Alpha and Luna have chosen to also be united as husband and wife. They have written their own vows, and would not like to deliver them to one another. Alpha? You may proceed,” she announced. Maddix took another deep breath, probably the millionth one tonight, and looked deep into his mate’s eyes. “Riley Harper, Luna Riley Harper. My Luna. I have loved you from the second I walked into that bakery in Ruby Meadows and smelled your amazing lavender and vanilla scent. It was pure torture being separated from you while you finished training with grandma. From today forward, I vow to love you like you deserve to be loved. Protect you like you deserve to be protected. From tomorrow until the end of our days, I vow to be the best mate and husband to you, and when our children arrive, I vow to be the most amazing father to them. Just like my dads were to me. I love you Riley, from now until after life.” He didn’t stammer at all, and everyone in the room felt the love pouring out of his soul.
Iris turned to Riley, and asked her to recite her vows. “Maddix, my dear sweet mate, I wasn’t sure if I would ever have a mate. I wasn’t sure where I would end up in my life. I am thankful and blessed that the moon goddess chose me for you. I knew the second I looked into your eyes that you were my destiny, my one true soulmate. My life is complete now. My heart is full, and I am right where I was meant to be. I vow from today until well into the afterlife that I will be the wife and Luna you deserve, and will show you all the love that I have inside of me to give you. I vow to be your partner in life, your partner in crime, and I will be your everything and more. I love you so much, now and forever.” she recited. Iris completes their marriage bond by once again slicing their palms and dripping blood into their unity chalice, and having them drink the mixture of the wine and their blood. Bonding them further than their markings would ever do, once they marked each other.
“Blood Moon Pack, I now introduce your Alpha and Luna as husband and wife. Alpha Maddix and Luna Riley Young.” I yelled.

After our ceremony, we left the stage to join our family. Dinner would be served, and then the party would start. Riley and I took our place at the center of the long table, facing the dance floor. My parents were sitting next to me, then my sisters, and finally my brothers. Next to Riley were my grandma, my uncles and cousins. The Beta and Gamma Families were sitting at another long table next to ours. There were so many people, but the only one I could focus on was my mate.
She looked stunning, and she was now bound to me. I couldn’t wait until tonight when we finally mated and marked one another. It had come close several times, but Riley wanted to wait until our ceremony, and I respected that. Her marking on me would be done slightly differently than mine would be on her. Where I would bite into her marking spot, when she would mark me, it would be more like a brand created by the magic electricity coming from her lips. I have only seen a few Fae/witch mate markings, and they are actually very beautiful. They have almost a shimmer to them. I didn’t care what or how it happened, as long as I was with her, I had everything.
Dinner dishes started to be served, and there was a buffet setup in case people wanted more. My first plate contained a perfectly cooked medium rare steak, baked sweet potatoes, asparagus and my favorite cream corn pudding. Riley had mushroom ravioli, grilled chicken, roasted cauliflower, and brussel sprouts. A gorgeous 5 tiered cake made of red velvet and cream cheese icing sat in the corner of the room, and was decorated with beautiful succulents. The room looked amazing, it was adorned with white twinkling fairy lights, and dark green and silver silk bunting. The tables had tons of candles and floral scattering. My mother had amazing taste, and everything was perfect. I had to remember to thank her later.
After we ate, the music started blaring. My sisters pulled me, Riley and my brothers onto the dance floor. The song Shape of You by Ed Sheerhan is playing as we all moved to the music. A few other fast songs played before fading in to mine and Riley’s song, Tie Me Down by Taylor Ray Holbrook. Everyone left us in the middle of the dance floor, and I pulled her in close to me. I placed my forehead against hers, and stared deep into her beautiful chocolate eyes.
As we swayed to the music, I started to sing to her. “One look at you and I saw everything I’d ever need, And you don’t know what you do to me, I’m down to give it all up, If you’re up to tie me down.” She didn’t realize just how true those words really were. There is a line in the song that says, ‘We turned two worlds into one,’ and that is exactly what we have done. She and I come from two totally different worlds. I know very little about the witch world, and she knows very little about the lives of werewolves. I was told by grandma that I do carry some of the Fae traits, but until my wolf, Franz, is comfortable helping them surface, I have no idea what they are.
Everyone started to clear out, and I had danced more than I wanted. I approached my mom to make sure we were good to head out, and before I could get the words out, mom and my dads yelled the words, “GO!” Riley and I started to laugh and waved goodbye to everyone. I picked her up as soon as we left the ceremony hall and took her into our new room. My parents had their room completely remodeled. Complete with new furniture, and had our belongings brought there.
As soon as the door closed, I smashed my lips on hers. She kissed me as if it would be the last time she would ever kiss me again. “Maddix, I need you,” she gasped. Neither of us had ever been with anyone else, and I think we were both just stumbling over what to do. I carried her to the bed, and laid her on it gently. I started to unbutton my shirt, and apparently I was going too slow. She grabbed my shirt and ripped it open. I had never seen her so aggressive, and if we are being honest, I loved it. She grabbed my shoulders and pulled me down on her, and wrapped her legs around my waist. “Touch me Maddix, Please baby.” I ran my hand up her thigh and teased my fingers along the edge of her panties. She was trying to wiggle out of her dress with me on top of her, and I lifted myself up and helped her with her task.
