Filed To Story: Goddess's Design His Fated Mate (Willow & Reuben)
Entering their room, when I settled both of them, Wyatt questioned, “Mommy, Thanksgiving is celebrated among family, right?”
I simply hummed in response.
“Then where is your family? Your mommy and daddy?”
My whole body froze as if plunged into icy waters. My mom and dad? The faint memory of my parents flitted across my mind, accompanied by hazy scenes. The voices that echoed in my mind were difficult to comprehend, and whenever I tried to think about it, I would be plagued by headaches. In reality, I didn’t remember much about my past beyond my name, age, and surname, which I was supposed to conceal from the world, though I didn’t know why. There were some more memories, but they were all blurry.
Wyatt awaited my response eagerly, “I have family, and it’s you two,”
I smiled, kissing him.
“You forgot Daddy, Mommy,”
Lori reminded me, catching me off guard.
I smiled guiltily. “Yes, Daddy too.”
After dressing both of them, I sent them downstairs. Then, I changed into a fitted, deep neckline white dress that reached above my thighs. Applying a touch of makeup and styling my hair into a bun, I stood straight in front of the mirror after placing the lipstick on the dressing table. That’s when I saw Reuben standing behind me in the mirror.
I blinked in surprise. “What are you ”
He gently traced his finger along the deep neckline of my dress and kissed my neck. “You look so beautiful,”
I bit my lips lightly and closed my eyes when his gentle lips touched my skin. It was so good.
As my eyes were closed, I felt something around my neck. I opened my eyes to find him adorning me with a beautiful necklace that coincidentally complemented my dress perfectly. Surprised, my hand subconsciously reached up to touch the necklace, then moved to Reuben, who was looking at me with dreamy eyes.
“Do you like it?”
he asked, his eyes never leaving mine.
I nodded, feeling my cheek bruning. A small smile graced his lips as if my appreciation for his gift meant the world to him.
Honestly I loved the necklace but if I said that then he could act like a rogue and pounce on me.
“It’s beautiful,”
I murmured, looking away from him but he leaned down ti my ears and whispered.
“You look so fucking sexy when you blush, Willow,”
he grinned, inching closer to me, “It’s our first Thanksgiving with our children and as a family. I am so happy,”
he murmured, leaning down to kiss my cheek.
My heart raced with his tender kiss and I could not help but lowered my eyes, “I also have something for you,”
I murmured.
“For me?”
he blinked, his gaze following me as I walked to my drawer. I retrieved the small box that I had purchased from the mall the other day while shopping. I had never imagined I would give it to him on this occasion.
Taking his hand, I placed the box in his palm. Curiosity flickered in his eyes, but he looked between the box and me as he slowly opened it. When his eyes landed on the exquisite blue-gold tie pin inside, his expression shifted.
I felt nervousness all over, trying to read his face and wondering if he liked it or not. Reuben tore his eyes from the tie pin and looked at me, a happy smile gracing his lips. “I love it,”
he declared.
He took my hand and softly pulled me closer to his chest. “Wear it on me,”
he said, passing me the tie pin, his eyes flirtatiously locked with mine. I lowered my gaze shyly as I fastened the pin onto his tie, feeling his unwavering gaze on my face the entire time.
“Willow,”
he called my name softly.
“Hm?”
I raised my head to look at him, only to receive a kiss on my lips.
“I love you.”
Reuben
In her absence, I never celebrated any festival or participated in any celebrations or occasions. I locked myself away in a self-made prison. During those six years, day and night had no distinct meaning in my life. I killed and destroyed but I was never able to forget her, not even for a second. She was everywhere. She was an integral part of me but still far from my reach.
Each second without her felt like an agonizing punishment, and every one of those sleepless nights became my destiny. I sat alone in my room, staring out the window watching the seasons and weather change their cycle continuing on yet my torment never ended.
No matter how long I waited, she never returned. Until now
Placing my empty glass on the bar counter after toasting with the pack members that had thanked me in unison, I stepped out onto the dance floor. Her slender back and long hair that brushed her hips held my attention as I swiftly turned her around to face me just before she could accept another man’s hand for the dance.
“Reuben..”
she gasped, her eyes darting around at the surprised faces of the pack members before returning to my possessive ones, “What are you doing?”
she whispered.
“I’m never letting you go, Willow,”
I declared, wrapping my arm around her thin waist and pulling her closer, leaving no space between us. She was taken aback by my sudden declaration and surprised by the intensity of my newfound obsession. “Never dare to run away from me again,”
I whispered, my breath fanning against her face. She looked at me with beautiful wide fearful blue eyes. She had no idea what was driving me to suddenly say such things, but all she needed to know was that she would never escape from me, “Never ”
I brushed my fingers over her wet lower lip as her heartbeat intensified.
I had finally gotten her back in my life after putting in so much effort to make her believe in me even though it was only a little bit of trust at this point. She had kissed me back and had started realizing her feelings for me. After sharing lunch with the children and Willow today, I realized how much I loved having a family. I realized how much had been lacking in my life. I had become greedy greedy for the happiness that I lacked the last six years, greedy to have Willow in my arms, greedy for her presence in my life. Now, there was no way that I would be able to let her walk out of my life with my heart and soul in her hand.
“Reuben,”
Oran mind-linked me. I tilted my head to find him standing by the bar counter, his expression serious. He had been out of reach since the early evening. “I have some bad news,”
he continued.
As he spoke, I tore my gaze away from him to focus back on Willow. “Don’t dance with other men,”
I said, loosening my grip on her waist.
She blinked at me, clearly surprised. I took a step back, looking at her, and then walked over to Oran, however I kept hearing her.
