“Okay, I won’t cry. I won’t cry!” Lina struggled to hold back her tears.

Grace rushed to the hospital after learning the news of Lina’s hospitalization.
She was dumbfounded when she found out that things between her best friend and Hadwin Stephenson were completely over. After she bid goodbye to Lina the day before yesterday, she thought Lina and Hadwin Stephenson were getting back together, but it turned out to be the opposite.
“What happened?” asked Grace.
“We’re not meant for each other. Of course, we shouldn’t be together.” Lina smiled bitterly and said, “But I’ll give birth to this baby. Grace, I seem to understand why Kyla chose to give birth to Nelson now. Maybe I’ll bring up the child alone, just like Kyla.”
Grace said, “How are you alone? You have your parents and me. Don’t forget, your child is going to call me ‘Godmother’!

Lina froze. When the long-forgotten words came out of her best friend’s mouth again, they brought back memories of that year.

“Alright, you don’t have to worry about anything. I have your back! Lina, I have your back,” Grace said in a firm voice. She would protect Lina and prevent her from getting hurt again!
When Grace was discharged from the hospital, Jason came to pick her up.
Seeing her frustration, he asked, “What’s the matter?”
“Lina said she and Hadwin Stephenson are completely over. She intends to give birth to the baby and raise them alone,” Grace said with a sad look on her face.
Jason raised his eyebrows as if a little shocked. “Did Hadwin Stephenson agree to this?”
Grace said, “Yeah. Hadwin Stephenson promised Lina that they would not have anything to do with each other anymore. The day before yesterday, Lina seemed determined to get back together with Hadwin Stephenson. How did it turn out like this?”
“Didn’t you ask?”
“Lina didn’t want to talk about it, so I didn’t pursue it.” Grace pondered for a moment and said, “Jay, can you find Hadwin Stephenson? I want to see Hadwin Stephenson and ask him what happened.”
“You care so much about Lina,” he muttered.
“She’s my best friend.” Without Lina, she would not be here right now.
“What about me? Do you care more about her or me?” asked Jason as he suddenly leaned over and put his face right in front of Grace.
Those bright peach blossom eyes stared at her intensely. They were amorous and full of longing.
Even though he knew how much Lina meant to her, he still could not help wanting her to care more about him. He wanted all her attention. If he could not get all of it, then… he at least hoped he could get the most!
He was greedy, but only for her.
She said, “You can’t be jealous of this too, right? You’re my husband while Lina is my friend. There’s no comparison!”
“Yes, I’m even jealous of this. It’s silly, isn’t it?” His lashes fluttered slightly as he slowly looked down. His long fingers. helped her fasten her seat belt.
What he said made her heart ache a little. Just as he was about to withdraw his hand, her hand suddenly caught his.
After a few days of recovery, she was able to grasp things now, but not too hard.
Now, she was holding his hand as hard as she could.
“What’s the matter?” He looked up at her with some confusion.
“You’re not silly. Why would my Jay be silly? It’s just because you love me so much.” She said as she looked at him sternly, “Jay, Lina is the most important friend in my life. If she’s in trouble, I’ll try everything possible to help her, but you… are the man I’ll share my life with. I won’t hesitate to trade my life for yours!”
He was stunned. His dark eyes stared straight at her. He did not even notice the tears falling from his eyes.
His heart was beating wildly, and his blood seemed to boil. He had just heard the most beautiful voice telling him how much she loved him.
“Jay, why are you crying? Don’t cry! I… I didn’t say all these to make you cry,” Grace said in a panic as she fumbled to get a tissue and wiped away his tears.
The next moment, he instantly held her in his arms. “Grace, just love me like this forever, okay?” He wanted her to love him. He wanted her to love him very much!
His scent enveloped her, and she leaned against his chest to feel his warmth. Then, she raised her hands, hugged him back as hard as she could, and answered, “Okay!”
Jason had no problem finding Hadwin Stephenson, but the results surprised Grace.
The airport… Hadwin Stephenson was now in Emerald City’s airport, ready to leave Emerald City!
“Hadwin Stephenson’s leaving? That’s too soon!” Grace said in disbelief. Then, she said to Jason, “I want to go to the airport. I want to see Hadwin Stephenson and ask for clarification! I have to do it no matter what!”

“Okay, I’ll go with you,” said Jason as the car headed for Emerald City’s airport.
Once they reached the airport, Grace met Hadwin Stephenson in the VIP lounge.
Hadwin Stephenson was in a black trench coat, and next to him was a black suitcase.
“You’re leaving Emerald City?” asked Grace as she panted. After finding out he was in the VIP lounge, she and Jay ran over.
“Can’t I leave Emerald City?” Hadwin Stephenson looked at Grace indifferently and said, “I came to Emerald City for business. Now that it’s done, I’m going home.”
Grace quickly asked, “What about Lina? Do you know that Lina is still lying in the hospital bed-”
“So what?” he interrupted coldly. “What does it matter to me what’s going on with her?”
“You…” Grace immediately stepped forward and raised her hand to slap Hadwin Stephenson’s face.
Slap!
A loud slap rang out in the VIP lounge. Fortunately, it was a small separate room and no one else was there.
Hadwin Stephenson looked coldly at Grace, exuding a dangerous aura.
Jason quickly pulled Grace aside, afraid that Hadwin Stephenson would harm her.
“Hadwin Stephenson, I’ll fight with you if you want!” said Jason.
Hadwin Stephenson sneered, raised his hand to touch the cheek that was slapped. “Jason, what’s the matter? Your wife slapped me in the face. Not only won’t you apologize, but you’re also going to bully me like this? Do you really think I’m afraid to lay a hand on you just because Emerald City is your territory?”
“I told you, I’ll fight you if you want!” said Jason.
The two men confronted each other, and the atmosphere seemed like it would explode at any time.
Grace said, “Hadwin Stephenson, I did slap you in the face, but I think one slap isn’t enough! Lina was miserable enough when you broke up with her. Five years later, you messed with her again. Lina is lying in the hospital, but you’re here. planning to leave? What on earth does Lina mean to you?”
