Behind the girl stood her manager, a woman wearing black-framed glasses.

Her arms were crossed, and her cold gaze was fixed on Emma.

He knew Emma had ways of getting what she wanted. An outdated model like her couldn’t have achieved this much success and defeated Amber so soundly without some help.

Even so, she couldn’t believe Emma would dare to steal an H World model’s job. If she didn’t stop her now, Emma would become an even greater threat in the future. Of course, she had no idea Emma’s next goal was to join H World herself.

The manager continued glaring at Emma as she mulled things over. Through her industry contacts, she’d managed to find out how Emma had secured a place in Luxury’s opening show.

It was because of George Benedict. “He’s a pretty big name,” she thought. But now that Emma’s fame is rising, she can’t get ahead by sucking up to powerful people anymore, not unless she wants to ruin her reputation. If she does that, she might as well keep hanging around with Nathan and Amber.

Just then, the show began to the sound of retro music as the first model stepped on stage. Emma instantly became the center of attention.

Her professionalism, charm, and style held the show together, a show that was otherwise filled with new unknown models. Her presence also opened the international media’s eyes to the unlimited possibilities of an American model.

A few of the audience members even recognized Emma as Kira, who’d once won many new model awards. They were pleasantly surprised to see her again on the runway. No one could compete with Emma’s radiance; she was completely dazzling.

Eric was sitting directly below the stage. This was his first time seeing Emma walk the runway up close.

At that moment, it was hard for him to believe that she was his wife. George was also close by, as was TTQ’s photographer, who was snapping away on the camera. The scene on stage was absolutely perfect. Everyone in the audience was amazed by Emma’s performance.

After the models took their bows and left the runway, George headed backstage to congratulate Emma. “You’re the best,” he beamed. She smiled and politely took his hand. “Thank you, Mr. Benedict. I’m already looking forward to TTQ’s October Edition,” he said. After talking to George, Emma went to the dressing room where Lisa helped her back into her own clothes.

Emma got ready to go quickly as she couldn’t wait to walk the streets of France hand in hand with Eric. But just as they were about to leave the venue, Lisa received a phone call from Global. Nathan wanted to know what was going on with Emma.

Lisa pulled up the news on her phone and quickly came across some trending articles about Emma.

The headlines were all similar: “Emma versus Amber: The Support Behind This Scheming.”

The articles explained that after every single battle between Emma and Amber, Amber had been completely defamed while Emma had continued to advance her career.

They claimed that this wasn’t because Emma used the right strategies but because she had more men supporting her from behind than Amber did. One of the articles even mentioned Star Age and George, who had shown her support recently.

Most of the online comments still trusted Emma, especially her fans who immediately started spreading videos from her shows and images from her magazine shoots.

They wanted to prove that she had depended only on her own abilities to get where she was now. However, there were also some detractors. They claimed that Emma was frighteningly intelligent and that people needed to watch out for her deceitful tricks. In short, the internet was in chaos. As Lisa read through the discussions online, rage began to boil inside her.

How is being smart a bad thing? I really have to hand it to these people. Emma glanced at the comments and laughed after casually disguising herself. She and Lisa headed out to the parking lot and got into Eric’s car.

“I saw the news,” Eric said as they got in. “Now that your fame is increasing, the attacks will start coming from all directions. When faced with competition, people start scheming. Do you understand what I’m trying to say?”

“Of course,” Emma replied. “It’s just that this time Amber’s been given another chance to insult me.” She knew it was best not to respond to Amber’s accusations. She knew the more she tried to explain herself, the more it would seem like she was hiding something. Since someone was helping her gain exposure, she might as well accept it. It was the truth, after all.

“You don’t want to contain this?” Lisa asked, looking at Emma. But her question was really meant for Eric. However, Eric and Emma had an agreement. He wasn’t going to interfere in her career. He had already broken his promise during the incident with Mia and didn’t have enough of a reason to break it again.

“Now, Lisa,” Emma said, “don’t forget that Global is still my management agency.” Seeing the couple remain calm, Lisa relaxed. “Okay, you guys have fun. I’ll keep an eye on the situation in New York.”

Emma smiled at her in relief. “Help me reassure the fans. Tell them I haven’t been affected.”

Back in New York, Amber and Nathan were at the office watching the news about Emma pour in. After being pressured by Nathan, Amber had agreed to keep their child. Of course, she only did this to buy time for herself. As she read through the news articles, she sneered.

“I told you before, there’s no way Emma could be that pure. Now that she’s been exposed, will you help her or will you take the opportunity to step on her even harder?”

“Shut up,” Nathan warned. After his incident with Amber, Nathan had become wary of her. He considered reconciling with Emma, but the thought of her with Star Ages CEO and George Benedict made his heart turn to ice. Amber had become disgusting to him, but Emma wasn’t any better. It seems he couldn’t pin his hopes on either of them.

“If you don’t get PR to help her, then I won’t be able to resist defending her,” Amber said, laughing. “It wasn’t easy to get this chance.”

Nathan didn’t respond. Maybe it’s not a bad idea to let Amber break Emma’s spirit a little, he thought. Amber rang her assistant and said, “Gary, leak some information for me at the magazine shoot in Mexico.

Emma didn’t make use of the organizer’s living arrangements. Instead, she was fooling around with an unknown man and went to stay with him. Now is the perfect time to release this information, but be careful not to let anyone know you did it.”

Nathan was so revolted by Amber that he found it difficult to look at her. Of course, he’d failed to realize that he was just as deplorable as she was. Emma had expected Amber to defame her like this. She just considered it Amber’s last hurray because as the annual Model Awards approached, she knew Amber was about to fall into the depths of despair.
