However, considering that the two children were still young and Grace wanted them to bond, she let them sleep together.
Poor Mick Reed. A child who did not talk much was now being forced into becoming a chatterbox by his sister.
His sister resented the lack of pa**ion when he told her stories, so he would be forced to tell the same stories several times.
Grace expected her son to grow impatient, but who knew her son would tell his sister the same story over and over again without showing a trace of impatience.
Maybe it was kinship, and Mick was a good brother.
The corners of Grace’s mouth unconsciously curved at the thought of this. A voice suddenly rang in her ears. “What’s the matter? Are you interested in Hadwin Stephenson? Why are you smiling at his picture?”
Grace instantly came back to her senses. Jason had walked up behind her at some point, and what was on her phone screen was news about Hadwin Stephenson.
As she had been looking down at her phone, it would make others misunderstand that she was smiling at Hadwin Stephenson.
“No, I just thought of Jasper and Mick. Besides, Hadwin Stephenson is Lina’s ex-boyfriend. I’m only looking up news about him because of Lina,” Grace quickly explained because she was afraid of being misunderstood.
He stared at her but did not say anything right away.
“Don’t you… know that Hadwin Stephenson is Lina’s ex-boyfriend?” she asked when it suddenly occurred to her. After all, he had lost part of his memories.
“Even though I don’t remember, Terrence and the others would mention some things about Hadwin Stephenson and Lina when they talked about you,” said Jason. He remembered Terrence saying that Lina was injured after she left Emerald City to find Hadwin Stephenson. In the end, she was seriously injured by Hadwin Stephenson’s half-brothers.
If it were not for Lina, he and Grace… might not have gotten married!
Grace breathed a sigh of relief. At least she did not have to explain much about this matter. “Anyway, I’m not interested in Hadwin Stephenson.”
“Really?” His thin lips smiled. “Then who are you interested in?”
His tone was indifferent and spoke with a cold voice, but he had ended his question with a slight rise. There seemed to be seduction in his glittering eyes.
Grace glanced at Jason, her face slightly red. Did he expect her to give her an answer to that?
“Why are you keeping quiet? Haven’t you been proactive all along?” he said. His thin lips smiled faintly and she could hardly look away.
‘Alright, there’s no shame in falling for him!’
She blushed, and said, “You”.
There was a hint of laughter in Jason’s dark eyes. He gently pulled her hand and said, “You’re not allowed to be interested in other men. I’m the only man you can be interested in!”
Grace was momentarily dazed. He was still as overbearing as before.
Back then, he did not like her to be close to other men too. He would overbearingly tell her to only look at him and think of him… Come to think of it, it was sweet.
Suddenly, there was a slight pain in Grace’s earlobe. She suddenly came to her senses to find Jason nibbling her earlobe.
She trembled and felt the blood rushing to her ears.
“Jay, stop it…” She trembled and unconsciously raised her hand to cover her ear.
However, before her hand could touch her ear, his hand pinned it down. “I won’t…”
He murmured, sounding as though he was tasting the most delicious food.
Her face grew redder. “Well… Well, I bought a gown at the boutique today. I spent a lot of money on it. It… It doesn’t matter, does it…”
She spoke quickly, trying to stop him while also distracting herself.
‘If this goes on…’
“Since I gave you the card, it doesn’t matter how much money you spend. You own half of the Reed family’s wealth anyway,”
he said.
“Aren’t you afraid I’m only after your money?” she joked.
“Are you?” he asked in a deep voice while he stared at her.
The amorous air seemed to have frozen as silence enveloped them.
It was as if he wanted to see through her.
Grace’s throat instantly felt a little dry. “No,” she said.
He chuckled. “I know you’re not. There wouldn’t have been so many problems between us if you were.” After a pause, he spoke as he played with her fingers, “I heard from Terrence that you ran into Irene Lynch in the boutique today. Did she piss you off?”
Grace said, “She pissed Lina off, but I probably pissed her off in the end.”
“You don’t have to worry about her. Just treat her as a nobody that the Reed family is keeping around. If you find her annoying, I’ll order her to never show up before you again.”
Grace said, “It doesn’t matter whether she shows up in front of me. What matters is her showing up before you. Don’t tell me you can’t see that she’s trying to use her daughter to get you.”
“I’m not interested in her. She’s just Oriel’s mother. The Reed family promised to raise Oriel until she’s an adult and not separate the mother and daughter,” said Jason.
It was not that he had no idea what Irene Lynch was up to, but to him, it was like watching a clown. He did not have any sort of feelings for her at all, so he was not bothered to deal with her as well.
“But don’t you think you’re giving her some hope by doing this? You’re making her feel like she has a chance to get what she wants,” said Grace.
“Then what do you want me to do? Disfigure her? Or make her spend the rest of her life in the hospital so that she won’t dare to overthink things anymore?” asked Jason.
He calmly said those cruel and vicious words as though they were small matters.
Grace said, “No, you don’t have to do all that. You just have to make her understand that you’re mine. That’s all. Don’t give her any hope. If she has any other ideas and steps out of line, I’ll deal with her myself.”
No matter what, she would not share her husband with another!
Jason raised his eyebrows slightly. “I’m yours?”
Grace’s cheeks started blushing again but she did not avoid Jason’s eyes. She said earnestly, “Yeah, you’re mine. You’re my husband.”
A touch of tenderness flickered through Jason’s eyes, but he did not notice it himself.
He was so used to being in control that he would have hated it if someone else had said it, but he felt pleased and satisfied when she said it. He did not know how to describe it.
“Are you so sure that I’m yours? Aren’t you afraid of me falling in love with another woman?” he asked as his thin lips tugged into a smile.
Grace bit her lip slightly. After pondering for a moment, she said earnestly, “I’ll try to fight for you, but if you really love her to the point where you can’t give her up, then I’ll leave without kicking up a fuss.”
If he really fell in love with someone else one day, then he was not the Jay she loved anymore. In that case, they might as well set each other free.
However, Jason’s expression immediately changed when she said this. He instantly pulled her into his arms.
