“I wanted to touch you. If you felt me pull my hands away, would you force me to touch you again?”

“No.”

“Exactly. Forcing you isn’t exciting, you enjoying us, is. We can wait until you are ready.” Mac started to pull away and River started to pull her off him.

“Wait.” Both men froze. “What about my inexperience?” Both men chuckled.

“Again, lamb, we have waited for you for thousands of years.”

“Yes, I know, but I don’t know what I am doing.”

“Firebug I don’t think you understand how Dracoy mate, or what River meant.”

“I’m confused.”

“We are just as inexperienced as you are Firebug. None of the Enforcers have touched a female as far as I know. Well, I don’t include Zeph anymore in that, but the three of us have never touched anyone else. When we were younger, we made a pact not to touch another, but our mate, so that whenever she came along, she wouldn’t feel upset about our experience.”

“I broke that pact after the Rite of Ten, with you, before I knew you were my mate. That is why I left. You were too tempting. I wanted you like I had never wanted another, and I had to leave to Keep my word for my mate. Thankfully, it worked out.” River smirked at her.

“You all waited for me?”

“Yes. You were always the goal, the prize, for all of us.”

“Did you know I was going to be a mate to all of you?”

“No.” Mac chuckled. “But that doesn’t matter to me anyways. I was always devoted to my mate, and vowed to treat her with respect, devotion, and love.” Mac swallowed as he looked up at her. “I broke that promise I made to you, but I promise I will make up for it. I will never stray from my vow. I will never be far from you, and I will never hurt you again. When we get you back, I will swear any oath you request.”

“What if I request a blood oath? Or the final oath?”

“Without question, or hesitation.”

Araiya looked over her shoulder and looked at River. He smiled and nodded. “I already have sworn an oath to you, you just weren’t awake to hear it. I swore to you the first time you were in my bed that I would protect you from harm as much as I could if you would just wake up. Now can you do me a favour?” Araiya nodded. “Stop running away from me so I can Keep my damn vow.” Araiya grinned and nodded.

She looked at her two mates, the one she realized very surprisingly that she was already in love with, and the one who was begging for another chance to make it right. She looked at these two men, so different from her abusive stepfather, who used power to touch her, or her ex-boyfriend, who left when she refused a simple kiss. These men who smile at her when she asks for a minute, these men who without question vowed to wait, vowed to let her be ready, vowed to wait for her to come into their lives before even touching a woman. She looked at her two mates, took a cleansing breath, and let go of her wrapping.

Araiya awoke screaming. She shot up off the

ground, which caused her to scream again from the pain in her back. Blood started to pour from her face and her back. She covered her face and tried to blink past the blood, but it just burned her eye more, so she shut it.

“There she is. Welcome back to the land of the living.” Donal stood over her with a giant smirk on his face. The tent was filled with random people. Korine was again chained to the bed, but Donal turned to laugh with the group of soldiers and leaders he had in tow. When she finally took her hand from her face and looked up at him, Araiya got to watch with amusement as Donal paled. All color fled from his face before he wheeled on the soldier. “What have you done! I told you to wake her up. Not cut her face.”

“What’s wrong Donal?” Araiya laughed, pushing past the pain.

“Shut your mouth.”

“I wonder what the darkness will do? Will he laugh? Will he be angry? Or will he kill everyone here including you for marring the face of his brood mare? He doesn’t seem like a fellow that has a really good hold on his anger, Donal.” She laughed harder. She watched as sweat started to pour from Donal’s forehead as he paced in front of her.

All of a sudden, Donal dropped to his knees and snatched her chin. He turned her face so that he could study the cut. It was long, traveling from forehead to cheek and wide, about the width of a finger. He tried to pinch the sides together which caused Araiya to scream again, and he froze.

Everyone froze.

From one second to the next, Donal’s whole demeanor had changed. His eyes turned black. The sweat dried on his skin. The air grew cold and everyone that could, took a step back. Araiya watched as Donal was displaced in his own body, and his rider, his master came to the forefront.

“Hello love, what has happened to your beautiful face?” Araiya tried to pull her face free, but he adjusted his grip from her chin to the back of her head. “I asked you a question. What did you do to your face?”

“Do you not like your minions’ handiwork? I thought you wanted me at his mercy.” Araiya spat a mouthful of blood on Donal’s face and then smiled. Her teeth stained red with the blood still pouring from her face. “Too bad he didn’t listen and ruined me for you. I guess you will have to let me go.”

Korine shook on the bed, softly praying to the Goddess.

The Darkness laughed. “Do you expect me to believe that Donal did this?” Araiya stared defiantly at the Darkness, when one of the soldiers bravely, stupidly stepped forward.

“I did it. Donal told me to wake her up and after I tried to kick her awake and it didn’t work, I thought cutting her might. He never told me he didn’t want her face cut.”

Darkness Donal turned slowly toward the solider. “What did you say?”

“I…I am sorry. It was not my intention to anger you.” The poor soldier tried to plead his case. Sadly, the Darkness wouldn’t listen. He let go of Araiya to stand up and walk over to the man, shakily still trying to plead his case. Everyone in the tent watched in absolute horror as Donal’s hand was shoved into the soldier’s stomach and angled up. Tearing through everything. The soldier was screaming, screaming so much that his voice broke and went raw almost instantly.
