“Me?”
the corner of his lips lifted into a half smile but nowhere near a full one.
“Yes, if you had not broken up with me on my eighteenth birthday, if you had not stopped loving me, if you had not given up on me and would have only continued loving me then ”
I paused abruptly when I saw Bix standing some distance away from the corner of my eye. My eyes widened and my mouth immediately snapped shut.
In high school, I had secretly started dating Oran. He was not sure if things would work between us, so we kept it a secret. Of course, having a crush on him from the beginning I wanted to have him in every way. One day at a school function, we had sex in the locker room. I lost my virginity to him but Bix walked in during the middle of us having sex searching for Oran.
I did not know what happened after that but the next day Oran broke up with me.
The reason was Bix was secretly in love with me.
That’s when Oran stated, “You were my mistake, Ella,”
My eyes widened at him hearing his words. He tore his eyes away from me only to fix with Bix, “A mistake that I made intentionally,

It had to be a lie. How could Willow be Walter’s girlfriend? She was mine, she would only ever be mine. I was her soulmate, lover, and the only man meant to be with her. How could she move on with her life so easily when time had stopped for me the second I realized she left me six years ago. How could she choose another man over her soulmate? How could she forget my love? My whole world seemed to have stopped at that moment, all the voices around me slowly faded away.
“Going through my private life?”
An amused voice pierced through the silence of my shock. Walter eyed the photo of the candle light dinner displayed on my phone with a mixture of amused pride. I glanced at him when he did not deny the news or call it a lie. Instead he leaned against the bar counter while neatly grabbing a glass of wine.
“Your connections appear to be stronger than I thought. You got your hands on my and Willow’s private photos I can see. I understand you must be curious about us, though I would appreciate it if you keep this a secret from Willow. She would be angry with me if she discovered that I had pictures of us together. You see, she does not want to expose our relationship,”
he remarked, bringing the glass up to his lips while his blue eyes remained fixed on my expression that was obviously not normal but growing darker by the second.
“Care to explain what kind of a relationship you have with my wife?”
My voice was low but the demand for an answer was planned in my tone.
“Hmmm how should I break this to you,”
his voice was almost like a mumble as he seemed to be lost in deep thought but his lips had soft smile like he was reliving some precious memories while recalling something, “in simple words I love her,”
he confessed not bothering to beat around the bush.
My grip on my phone tightened to the point that I crushed it in my hand. For such a bold statement his head should have been in my fist, bleeding, and crushed instead of my phone.
“That’s impossible,”
I let out a low growl, yet kept my wolf in check and controlled, continuously reminding myself of the promise that I made to Willow.
“Why is it impossible?”
He raised his brows and glanced down at the crushed pieces of phone dropping to the ground then smiled at me, “I know you lied about Willow being your wife. You two are not married. She is single. You could be her ex boyfriend or ex lover but ”
“I am her soulmate!”
I snapped, my voice boomed over the loud music for a second then was covered again so that our conversation did not reach others’ ears.
Walter’s expression did a 180 degree change, his eyes widened as he stood stunned at the revelation. Obviously as a hunter he knew the weight of these words, “I see no importance in explaining my relationship with my soulmate to strangers. However, I would like to tell you that soulmates do not need to marry each other. From the time we recognise each other as soulmates we are bound to each other, from that point on marriage is an option,”
I walked closer to him then added firmly, “Willow and I are one soul, made only for each other ”
“One soul that left her alone for six years during which you also got yourself a fiance?”
he sharply cut me off.
“What the fuck did you just say?”
I growled lowly, taking another step closer to him.
“Did I say something wrong? Is that she-wolf, Ella, not your fiance? You got yourself a toy to release your rut on but when Willow does the same, you can’t bear it?”
“What the fuck did you say you motherfucker?!”
I barked, grabbing his collar. “What do you mean by “Willow does the same? What the fuck do you mean exectly?!”
I demanded, yelling in his face, my wolf threatening to rip him in shreds.
Walter remained motionless in my tight grasp as he stared deep into my eyes, “Are you seriously asking me what that means? Willow and I have been together for years. We are both consenting adults, everything we do is out of love. Do you really want me to dive into the details of our private personal moments?”
As he spoke my mind went blank and Dex completely turned mute in my mind. Willow she
My heart broke, the only reason for my existence seemed to have abandoned me.
That’s when the third person that was part of this conversion presence was noticed. It was Willow. She was watching me silently and had heard everything from the beginning. Walter took the opportunity to remove his collar from my grasp and walked away.
Willow
A few hours ago
With no time to spare that morning, I departed the Emerald Bright Pack clad in a simple square-neck crop top that left my waist exposed. Walter’s hand approached the strip of bare skin, hovered mere inches away from making contact with my waist.
“I dare you to touch me,”
I asserted, standing close to his formidable 6.2′ frame. Adjusting the coat on his broad chest, I raised my gaze to deliver a warning glare. “I wouldn’t mind if my model struts down the runway with an unsightly scratch marring his face.”
“Ohh you caught me again,”
he grinned, revealing his easy charm and retracting his bold hand in response.
I couldn’t help but roll my eyes, “I can smell your arousal. Can’t you get your head out of the gutter for once and focus on work?”
I shot him a stern look, wondering how I managed to work with this man for five years.
The frequency with which this man got turned on around me resembled that of a werewolf, making his human identity questionable. This morning, when I went to his room to wake him up and asked him to join me on the fashion show stage for fitting and practice, he had been dealing with morning hardness. In the car he shared his insights about car sex, offering to have me join in the fun. Just now, after flawlessly strutting the runway like a male deity when I came on stage for a final check on his suit, he was once again stirred by our proximity.
“Willow, I can’t seem to control myself around you,”
he admitted, his gaze lingering on my chest due to our close proximity. Biting his lip, he continued, “My mind veers into dirty thoughts, I want to devour ”
I pulled away from him, rolling my eyes. “If you’re done with your dirty ideations, then go and change. It’s already evening, the party is about to start. We need to get back to the pack as soon as possible,”
I stated, grabbing my purse and exiting the hall.
“Where are you going?”
