I was startled by her words.

I tried to explain things to her because she had the impression that I was a horrible girl.

His voice made my legs freeze where they were.

Though he was angry that he had lost his face in front of the guests, he was concerned about his son’s position too.
“Leave, Dad.” His voice was still cold. It seemed like he did not obey his father either.
It came as a complete surprise to me that he did not even have any fear of his father. His words were like commands that others would have to obey.

Bryan interrupted Bruce with his sharp gaze piercing into him.
Bruce lowered his head. His anger was noticeable, yet he remained silent in the presence of his big brother. Reluctance filled his eyes as he did not want to leave this room, yet the weight of his brother’s authority compelled him to comply.
He glanced at me and then left the room first; his parents followed him behind.
Bryan made his way to the door and locked it. His actions made me feel nervous.
In the blink of an eye, he came in front of me. It was an instantaneous speed.
Before I could understand anything, he grabbed my throat and asked,
“So what were you calling me in the hallroom?”
I gazed upon his striking face, which left me feeling captivated.
However, I felt almost breathless in his firm grip around my neck. I held his hand and tried to pull it away from my neck.
But when I heard his next sentence, my hand trembled.
“I will kill you before accepting you as my mate.”
My eyes began to well up with tears. I was unable to take a breath. I gave him a pat on the hand, but he did not appear to be willing to let me go.
I felt like it was time for my death. He would really kill me before accepting me.
I was not greedy. I was aware that he had feelings for someone else. She was with him in the hall, and maybe he had already worn the ring of her name.
I took a brief glance at his left hand. There was no ring on the ring finger.
Did he cancel the engagement?
As for me, I did not want to be the home wrecker either.
I cursed my fate for making me stand in that situation where death was my only way.
If he rejected me, I would die anyway.
I closed my eyes and waited to embrace my death.

I was taking long breaths. I looked around to find water but was unable to get a glass of water.

I tried to make him understand that it was not in my hand.
His grip almost broke my jaw. He tilted his head.

I stared at him. Did he mean he would have rejected me if I had not said that in front of others? What would have happened after that?

He loosened his grip. He looked stunned by my words. But then his eyes turned dark.

He released his grip on my jaw and stood up. He proceeded to the door and opened it.
“I don’t want you either. Just reject me.” I spoke out. I did not want to get more humiliation.
He turned his head to me. His glare caused me to lower my head. There was no way I could avoid completely submitting to him.

I heard my brother’s voice.
I sprang to my feet and sprinted towards the door, almost colliding with Bryan’s body, who was still standing at the door.
“Take your sister and leave my pack house.” Bryan told Abraham in a cold tone.
Abraham looked stunned. “I could not understand, Alpha.”
“I don’t want to see her face. And you are fired from your job.”
Abraham did not have the opportunity to utter a single word. Bryan walked to the stairs and went downstairs.
I was horrified. I looked at Abraham.
“Brother.”
“W-What did you do? Why is he so angry? Why are you in his room? I told you to stay in the hall.”
I could see he was taken aback by the statement.
I told him the truth. I told him about what Bruce had done. I told him that Bryan was my mate. I told him everything.
