Patrick furrowed his brows like a busybody. “You know about this? A few other guys and I have even made a bet among ourselves to see if this woman can win over Jason in the end.”
Brian frowned and said with some astonishment, “You’re saying he has let go of Grace?”
Patrick’s expression immediately became awkward. “It’s been five years. Any ordinary person would have moved on, right? Besides, in the past few years, Jason has never mentioned Grace. Even if we accidentally bring her up, it seems like… he doesn’t really care about it anymore.”
Brian was shocked to hear that.
Patrick added, “But we’ve been trying our best not to mention Grace in front of Jason. Even though Jason seems to not have too many feelings for Grace now, he still dislikes other people mentioning her name.””
“How could he just forget about Grace?!” Brian had a face of disbelief.
Patrick shrugged his shoulders and said, “Why not? She’s just a woman. People like Jason can get himself any woman he wants. Hmm… but there isn’t any other woman who can give birth to such a son.”
Thinking of the boy in the Reed family made Patrick’s body tremble. He was just five years old, yet had such high intelligence. He recalled all those times he interacted with that brat, which only left him feeling aggrieved, and it made him mad.
‘Thank God he’s not my son. If he were my son, I’m afraid I, as his father, would be controlled by him.
‘It’s only Jason who can make that brat obey him!
Brian’s expression slowly became dark. ‘Just a woman? But it was this woman who made Jason nearly go crazy. How could he just forget such a relationship?”
Brian drank the wine in the gla** in his hand. Then, he walked straight toward Jason.
“Hey, Brian!” Patrick could not help but call out to him. ‘Is Brian planning to head over to Jason to talk about Grace?
‘Could it be that for the past five years, Brian… has never forgotten about Grace?’
The thought of it made Patrick quickly go forth. He was afraid that the place would be thrown into chaos if Brian brought up Grace’s name to Jason.
After all, these two men nearly got into a fight because of
Grace that year!
At that moment, Brian had already arrived before Jason. The few rich businessmen of Emerald City, who were initially having a conversation with Jason, immediately made a pathway when they saw Brian.
After all, Brian was a big shot in the entertainment industry! He was also a powerful character in Emerald City.
“I didn’t expect to see you here. When did you return?” Jason smiled as if he was just greeting an old friend of his.
“It’s not a coincidence. I knew you’d be joining tonight’s banquet. Hence, I purposely came here to see you,” said Brian.
“Oh?” Jason raised his brows. “See me? Do you need anything?”
“You… Do you still have any feelings for Grace?” Brian asked without beating around the bush.
The smile on Jason’s face slowly faded. His dark eyes were staring straight at Brian who was in front of him. “I don’t think this issue has anything related to you, right?”
“I just want to find out whether or not you still have her in your heart?” Brian said.
The atmosphere at the scene suddenly became tense. The guests in the surroundings immediately distanced themselves from that area as they were hoping not to overhear their conversation.
After all, compared to gossiping, they prioritized their lives more.
If they overheard things that they were not supposed to, perhaps they might not be able to continue surviving in Emerald City.
4/4 Jason squinted his eyes and suddenly let out a soft chuckle. “I think you used to have a crush on her in the past too, right? What’s wrong? Don’t tell me that woman still holds a place in your heart?”
Brian’s expression changed for the worse. ‘That woman… How dare Jason use such words to describe Grace?!
‘What the hell is going on here? Besides, why did Jason use the words ‘I think’? Isn’t Jason aware that it’s a fact I used to have a crush on Grace?’
“You…” Before Brian could speak, Patrick, who had rushed to the scene, quickly pulled on him. He said to Jason, “Jason, I think Brian is drunk, so he’s muttering rubbish. Please don’t take it by heart.”
As he was speaking, Patrick quickly pulled Brian away from the scene.
Brian was not willing to leave. He said to Patrick, “Let go of me! There are still a few things that I need to clarify.”
“It’s a rare opportunity that you’ve returned to Emerald City, so why even bother with this stuff? Why don’t I bring you over to a few fun places in Emerald City?” Patrick said.
“Patrick, please let go of him first. Since he has things to clarify, then allow him to do as he wishes,” Jason suddenly said.
‘Oh, Lord! Please don’t let them both fight it out with each other here!’ Patrick sighed. He had no choice but to let go of
Brian.
Brian stared at Jason who was in front of him with a vague smile on his face. He felt that Jason was giving off a vibe that he was unfamiliar with.
Perhaps the time that went by in the past five years was enough for them to develop a sense of unfamiliarity with each other.
In these few years, he had intentionally been avoiding Jason. He was afraid that seeing the latter would make him recall things about Grace.
“Do you still love Grace?” Brian hesitated for a moment before asking.
“No,” Jason answered straightforwardly. Then, he added casually, “Are you satisfied with this answer?”
At that split second, Brian had no idea how he should answer that question. When Jason said he did not love Grace anymore, his eyes remained so cold as if he would not be bothered by anything.
‘Jason really… isn’t in love with Grace anymore?’
Brian just stood like a log and was absent-minded. ‘What… What on earth is going on here? What’s happening to Jason?’
Jason stepped out of the banquet, and Terrence opened the car door with respect. He then followed Jason into the car.
Terrence had some things to settle. Hence, he was not there to accompany Young master Reed during the banquet earlier. ‘However, judging from his expression, it seems like tonight’s banquet wasn’t pleasant!”
Terrence felt perturbed and sat in the front. He tried guessing what had happened at tonight’s banquet. ‘Did some rich ladies bother Young master Reed again?’ Suddenly, he heard a question…
“Back then, just how much did I love Grace?”
Terrence nearly choked on his saliva and started coughing. Never would he have thought that his boss would suddenly ask such a thing.
“Er… About that… Did someone mention Young Madam… in front of you?” Terrence asked cautiously. He was observing Young master Reed’s expression at that moment through the rear-view mirror of the car.
Jason, who was sitting in the backseat, was frowning with his eyes lowered. He had on his usual expression, and no one could make out what he was thinking about.
“I met Brian today. From his expression, it’s as if me not loving Grace anymore is something that he finds extremely hard to believe,” Jason said casually.
‘Indeed… it’s hard to believe!’ Terrence said to himself. Thinking back to that year, if he had not been worried about Young master Reed going crazy, he would not have allowed Secretary Wang to…
Despite Jason being able to continue living, he had forgotten about his relationship with Grace.
In Terrence’s opinion, it seemed that Young master Reed had reverted to the way he was before he got to know Grace. It was like he did not love anyone and no one was able to catch his attention… ‘Oh, wait, there’s still an exception!

Such a disappointed scene Grace miss her time with her son and Jason should’ve torture Secretary Wang the way Grace was tortured in prison perhaps more than what Grace suffered so that he will spill the beans. The way Secretary Wang mentioned about Grace is already the clue that she’s still alive and he shouldn’t hide her he already saw the outcome and he already got the answers why bother to follow the heartless old Mr Reed instructions? He should’ve take sides with Jason and let him have a complete family but whatever Secretary Wang choose to do just to follow old Mr Reed instructions proves that he is a puppet not a loyal follower… please let Grace meet Jason and let them unite together
Maybe this adopted daughter and her morther are his daughter and Grace and somehow they do not recognise each other as both lost memory Or only Jason lost memory ….
This is the best idea that has come up so far and wouldnt make sense because Terrance would know the woman if it’s been two years, but it would be a better outcome where she hadn’t seen her son for five years. I’m wondering what they done to make him forget about Grace?

I’m so disappointed on how this turned out, Grace has suffered through out the story and after all that, Jason the man she gave her life for no longer loves her, it’s obvious she’s somewhere still alive, give her peace and let her be happy for once.
So tell me did Jason forget about Grace??? It’s so devastating. Grace didn’t get to see her son for the past five years, now the man she gladly gave her life to has completely forgotten about her, how will Grace take all of this if she was to come across Jason in the future; nooo this is too much to take in for me. I almost cried my eyes out

I hope this was a dream because this story was very good and took a turn with Grace giving birth to 1 baby possibly dying with the other 2 and now a 5 year gap. I do not understand and very disappointed to see this interesting story spiral to this.

Why do these Chinese authors channel their books toward the same end? I thought this will be different but it is heading there. It is either Grace will appear with memory loss and she won’t recognise Jason again or she will come when Jason is seriously involved with another woman making her look like a third wheel in their sweet relationship. In this case, Jason would have forgotten everything about her due to memory loss when he was mourning her death.
Jason is not to forget about Grace seeing her son everyday with him in the house. Did he need to adopt a girl? Is it the arrangement by secretary Wang to return Grace’s daughter to Jason pretending to be a daughter of a woman old Mr. Reed wants for Jason?
Waiting anxiously to see how these twists are resolved.

I tend to agree with the comment that suggested that the adopted daughter is his child and the mother is Grace. It is now Jason’s turn to lose his memory.

It was not revealed in the story how and who brought the adopted daughter to the Reed residence. Maybe the woman in the story is still Grace. Pls author don’t let us wait for several days……..
I am speechless, I cried reading about Grace and what was done to her back in the car. Now after 5 years it is sad to read that Jason doesn’t remember her.
I am so dissapointed. But I think Grace has lost her memory after the impact of the car. So she was sent somewhere by Secretary Wang. Grace unable to remember Jason and her past, but I suspect the adopted daughter is hers. Let’s see what unfold in next episodes or chapters. Please updated us quickly we want to see what will happened next.

Grace is such a good person but she been suffering throughout the entire life, is it fair?
If the next chapters tend to be this heartbreaking, I think I will stop reading.

How can Jay forget about Grace?? And why is Grace the only one who has to always go through hardship what did this girl do to the world really?
