Sophia flushed red. She lowered her head and bit her lower lip.

Sara hugged her tightly. “My baby, I’m so happy for you.”

Sophia chuckled at her cute behavior.

“Excuse me, girls? What are you two doing?”

After breaking the hug, they turned their attention to Nolan, who was standing next to their bench with his hand on his hip.

“I’m doing whatever with my baby. What’s it with you?” Sara asked him while wrapping her hand around Sophia’s shoulder.

Sophia could see that the couple had a fight between them. She unwrapped Sara’s hand from her shoulder and grabbed Nolan’s hand. She placed Sara’s hand on his hand and asked,

“You two. What happened to you? Have you had a fight?”

“Ask your friend what she did last night.” Nolan said, sitting on the bench next to theirs.

“Don’t listen to him, Sophia. I didn’t do anything wrong.”

“Oh, please. Who was flirting with the waiter?” Nolan inquired, rolling his eyes. But he had not let Sara’s hand go yet.

Sara turned her head toward Sophia and winked at her, then whispered, “He wasn’t giving me much time. Now look, how he is coming after me. Jealousy is the medicine of love.”

Sophia laughed at her words. She could not deny that Sara was kind of right. Though she felt hurt by Bryan’s words, she could not ignore the kiss. That was the first kiss they shared together.

When the professor entered the class, everyone kept silent. He started his lecture while talking about the assignments.

Sophia tried her best to pay attention to the professor.

The door flung open, and a boy stepped inside the class.

“Mr. Morrison, you are late,” the professor said while looking at him.

During the time that Bruce was looking around the classroom, Sophia gazed at him.

“I’m sorry, Professor,” Bruce replied, walking in the direction of Sophia.

Sophia averted her gaze and tried to ignore him properly. Bruce sat down a few seats away from her bench, which caused her to feel relieved. She noticed he sat with his friends. She almost forgot about his friends.

At the end of the class, the professor called out names and told them about their groups.

Sara clapped her hands when the professor called Nolan’s name in her group. But later, when he did not call Sophia’s name, she felt upset.

“You will get a better team. Don’t worry,” Sara said, rubbing Sophia’s arm.

As Sophia was about to give her a nod, the professor called out two names that she was not familiar with.

Then, the professor referred to her,

“Sophia Berge.”

Sophia raised her hand. After giving a slight nod at her, the professor turned his head to another person.

“And Bruce Morrison.”

As soon as she heard him, Sophia was completely taken aback Immediately, she rose up and inquired, “Professor, is it possible for me to change a member of the group? If you want to shift me to another group, it would be fine with me too.”

The professor frowned at her. “Do you think all these students here will listen to you and change their groups for you? Who are you to decide it?”

Bruce stood up and nodded his head. “Professor, she is disrespecting your choice. Don’t change the group based on her wish. You are our professor, and only you can decide it.”

The professor’s jaw dropped as he had never seen Bruce so attentive before. He was behaving like an obedient student.

Students around them understood the situation between the two exes, and they began to laugh.

“SILENCE.”

The professor yelled at everyone.

Meanwhile, Sophia stared at Bruce, giving him a stern look. She could have convinced the professor if he had not interrupted.

Bruce turned his head and winked at her. There was a smirk on his face, indicating that she would have to stay with him, even if it was for a while.

The professor looked at Sophia and said,

“Get familiar with your group. From next month, you will be required to start working together with them to complete the assignment.”

When the class was over, Sophia was the one who left the class first.

“Sophia,”

She heard Sara’s voice from behind. She stopped her steps after coming out of the class and turned around. Sara and Nolan rush toward her with a worried look.

“Sophia, are you okay?” Sara inquired.

Sophia gave Sara a nod of assurance and glanced behind her. Sara turned her head and saw Bruce coming out of the class.

His eyes fell on Sophia as he smirked. He raised his hand and acted like he gave Sophia a salute, then strolled in the opposite direction.

“Bastard!” Sara muttered angrily.

“Sophia, don’t worry. We can talk to the professor again,” Nolan said.

“It’s okay, guys. I am totally fine. Professor will only get angry,” Sophia replied.

“No, you are not fine. You looked so happy today, but that bastard ruined your mood.” Sara let out an angry tone, as if she were cursing Bruce more in her mind.

Nolan gave her a confused look and raised a question. “Happy about what? Is there anything special?”

Sara pushed Nolan’s arm and locked her arms with Sophia’s. “You don’t have to know. That’s a girl thing.”

He rolled his eyes. “You always do this. Whenever you don’t want to reply about anything, you say, “That’s a girl thing.””

Sophia chuckled when she saw they started bickering like cute lovers.

“You two are love birds,” she said, shaking her head.

Later, Sophia headed to attend the rest of the classes. While attending one, she got a message from that unknown number.

“Flowers and coffee both have strong smells. But I like the one the most. Do you know why?”

Sophia stared at the message. Since she believed it was Bryan, she asked,

“Why?”

“They reminded me of you.”

Sophia blushed. When did Bryan become so romantic?

She recalled the memories of last night. She closed her eyes and headed down in the seat while thinking about the kiss.

The way he kissed her, said sorry to her, and notified her that he could do that again, it was obvious that he had feelings for her.

She did not reply, and she locked her phone. She smiled like a crazy girl. She was over the moon.

‘I had never thought it would turn out like this. My mate loves me,’ she thought and grinned, looking at the sky through the window next to her bench.

When it was her time to go to the office, she put all the books in the locker.

She did not have to change her clothes daily since Bryan had bought her clothes. She could wear them at both places. They were not formal yet gentle clothes.

As she closed the locker and turned around, she gasped.

“What’s wrong with you, man? You almost scared me to death,” she said to the man in front of her.

“Well, nothing will happen to you, darling. Don’t worry,” he replied, placing his hand beside her head on a locker.

She tried to ignore him and turned to leave, but he placed his other hand on the other side and caged her between his arms.

Sophia looked at him with a stunned face. “What do you want?”

“Didn’t you hear what the professor told you? You should get in touch with your group members.”

Sophia lifted her hand and motioned her finger between them.

“Like this?”

“No, not like this. But I know one of my group members is stubborn. She won’t talk to me if I don’t stop her like this.”
