All he had was these two audio files and no other evidence.

However, he already had the answer in his heart. He knew who had really saved him back then!

‘Why… Why am I only hearing these phone recordings now? Why did I believe Paisley Daniels without a doubt when she appeared in front of me and said she donated the bone marrow?

‘I didn’t even do some basic research!’

What Kyla Corbyn had said to him in the car once again flashed across his head…

“Would you believe me if I said she wasn’t the one who saved you?”

How had he answered back then?

He had said she was slandering Paisley Daniels and trying to sow discord between him and Paisley Daniels! He also said… “If it wasn’t Paisley who saved me, could it have been you then? I’ve sworn that I’ll protect her, love her, and be loyal to her for as long as I live. You can forget about it!”

He even dragged her to the Daniels family where he made her kneel and grovel!

Martin Weiss raised his hand and immediately slapped himself at the thought of this!

However, no matter how hard he hit himself, his face seemed to feel no pain. It was the pangs of pain in his heart that were so intense that he could not breathe.

“Haha… Haha…” He burst into laughter, tears welling up in his scarlet eyes.

‘What on earth have I done?!

‘Why didn’t I trust her one bit? It was probably her last struggle when she told me in the car that it wasn’t Paisley Daniels who saved me.

‘However, I completely shattered her last hope.

‘If I had trusted her just a little bit, she wouldn’t have lost her dignity and been humiliated in front of the Daniels family.

‘I even ordered the people to humiliate her!’

“Haha… Hahaha…” Martin Weiss’s laughter became even more desolate. He slapped his cheeks over and over again as if this was the only way to vent his pain.

She had once laughed like that before him, and he had only been disgusted, wondering why she was laughing so insanely.

However, only now did he realize that she had laughed like that because there was too much pain in her heart!

Nelson and Mrs. Corbyn were by Kyla Corbyn’s side when she woke up.

“Mom, Nelson, why are you…” Kyla Corbyn was stunned. She realized she was not at home but in a strange room. “Where is this?”

“You’re in the hospital ward. Grace prepared it for you. She has been accompanying you in the ward. Then it got late and she’s pregnant, so I told her to go home and have an early rest.”

‘Grace… Kyla Corbyn remembered that Grace had saved her by breaking into Paisley Daniels’s ward at the height of her humiliation.

Without Grace, she would have suffered more.

However, how did Grace rush in so coincidentally?

When Kyla Corbyn expressed her doubts, Mrs. Corbyn said,

“Nelson called Grace. Nelson had been crying after Martin

Weiss’s subordinate brought him home this morning. He asked me for my phone, saying he wanted to call Aunt Grace.”

Kyla Corbyn looked at her worried-looking son.

A four-year-old child showing such a worried expression made Kyla Corbyn’s heart go into a fit of agony.

“Nelson, Mommy’s okay. Look, I’m okay now, aren’t I?” said

Kyla Corbyn.

“I’m sorry. I didn’t protect you properly!” The little one lowered his head gloomily. ‘If I were an adult, I would’ve been able to protect Mommy and she wouldn’t be taken away like that!

‘I hope I can grow up quickly so I can protect Mommy from being bullied.

‘Why would Daddy bully Mommy? Why won’t Daddy believe Mommy is a kind person?’

“You’ve protected me today. You called Aunt Grace and told her to find me. You did great,” said Kyla Corbyn.

However, Kyla Corbyn’s praise did not make Nelson happy. The little one’s young and tender face still had a solemn expression. “Mommy, I don’t want Daddy anymore. All I want is you! I won’t miss Daddy, ask for Daddy, and see Daddy anymore. I want to grow up quickly. I can protect you once I’m all grown up!”

Kyla Corbyn’s eyes reddened. She would like to see him grow up if she could, but… “Okay. I’ll wait for you to grow up and protect me, Nelson.”

It was not long before Nelson started rubbing his eyes. He was obviously sleepy, but the little one refused to sleep in the escort bed next to her. He insisted on sleeping in the hospital bed with Kyla Corbyn.

His little body was close to Kyla Corbyn, and his two little hands tugged at the hem of Kyla Corbyn’s hospital clothes as he fell asleep.

Mrs. Corbyn asked, “Why on earth did Martin Weiss bring you away today? I asked Grace earlier and she didn’t say anything.”

Kyla Corbyn figured that Grace did not know how to tell the elderly and the child about what she had experienced at that time.

After all, telling them about it would only upset them.

Kyla Corbyn smiled faintly and said, “It’s all over. But Mom… I may not be able to entrust Nelson to Martin Weiss anymore. 1 thought he would have some fatherly affections for Nelson, but now…”

What Martin Weiss had said in front of Nelson only frightened her. She was afraid that Martin Weiss would not protect his son at all when Paisley Daniels wanted to get rid of Nelson.

“Then we’ll take Nelson away and hide from Martin Weiss. An old woman like me will bring Nelson up even if I have to beg for food!” said Mrs. Corbyn.

Her daughter was now lying on the hospital bed like this after she was taken away by Martin Weiss. It made Mrs. Corbyn hate Martin Weiss even more.

Even though her husband had done the Weiss family wrong, Kyla had not done anything wrong!

“I’ll see what I can do about Nelson.” Kyla Corbyn sighed. “Mom, I’m really sorry. You have to worry about me and can’t enjoy life in your remaining years.”

Mrs. Corbyn wept. “There’s nothing to apologize for. I just want you to be happy as long as you live. Let’s live our lives happily. We have nothing to do with that b*stard Martin Weiss anymore.”

Kyla Corbyn muttered, “Yeah, he has nothing to do with us anymore.”

News of Paisley Daniels’s miscarriage was trending. There was even a video posted on the trending post showing how Kyla Corbyn had pushed Paisley Daniels and how the latter.

knocked into the table and chair.

The video showed Paisley Daniels painfully clutching her stomach after being hit by the objects on the table.

The person who posted the video claimed that they found it unfair, saying they heard that the woman in the video miscarried because of the push and ended up losing her three-month-old baby.

Then, someone recognized the woman in the video as Paisley

Daniels-the heiress of the Daniels family and Martin Weiss’s fiancée.

More people found out about Kyla Corbyn through the clues and dug out the old case that sent Kyla Corbyn to prison.

All of a sudden, public opinion took Paisley Daniels’s side. Many keyboard warriors called Kyla Corbyn evil and malicious for not even sparing an unborn baby. Some people threatened to give Kyla Corbyn a miserable death and typed out other various threats as well.

In her hospital bed, Paisley Daniels smiled as she read the comments on the trending news. Sure enough, she had become the perfect victim in the eyes of the public.
