Lola POV

As the dragon shoots down from the sky, towards me, I brace myself to bounce at the last second. Dragons only have 2 major weaknesses as far as I was able to read in my books back home. 1 of them being ice. Ice is the most effective thing there is against dragons, but where the hell does one find that much ice to render a dragon this size unconscious? And the second one being water. It is less effective than ice, however, and it only weakens them momentarily, but this is the more viable option with the lake in front of us. I don’t pay any attention to my surroundings, as I am fully focused on the lethal dragon gunning for me. Suddenly, Zeke and Zane jump in front of me, blocking my view of the dragon. Their hands are outstretched as they yell at the dragon “DAMON STOP!”. I almost double over in laughter. Are you kidding me right now? Now they know that I am their mate, all of a sudden they want to play the knight in shining armor? Right after they tried to scare me off? They can f*ck right off. I am past the point of being livid, and I am unleashing all I have bottled up today. No more holding back, time to shine and reign down on these f*ckers. I pounce both the idi*ts out of the way, growling loudly at them and baring my teeth, meaning they need to back the f*ck off. I look back at the dragon who is now hovering in the air, and I am contemplating how to get to him. It’s not like I can fly, so I am pretty much done fighting if he doesn’t come down. I snarl at him and jump on my hind legs to show I am not done with him yet. I bet it looks like a chihuahua jumping up to bite a rottweiler. But the f*cker doesn’t come down and stays up in the sky. ‘Let’s try something out. Put all your anger into it, and visualize him being hit by lightning and dropping him down. Perhaps it’ll work just like it did earlier’, Liberty suggests.

I let my rage bubble up to the surface and focus on what Liberty suggested. Although he didn’t get hit by lightning, I am surprised to see him being dropped in the lake with a force so big, I swear I could see the bottom of the lake when the water all gushed out for a minute there. As the water is settling back in, we see a human come to the surface. The water made him shift back, and he is now vulnerable in his human state against me. He swims towards the other end of the lake and, like a predator on the hunt, I run along the edge of the lake towards the back where he is headed. It feels like I am almost flying at how fast I’m going, the trees and everything around me is a blur. Right when Damon enters the shore, I reach his vision. I stalk towards him slowly, relishing in the look of fear in his eyes now that he is vulnerable and not so high and mighty as he was before. “Please Lola listen to me. I know what I did was wrong, I am truly sorry”.

Liberty and I speak up in our wolf voice while growling lowly “sure you are. You weren’t so sorry when you had your dragon, were you? Give me 1 good reason I should spare you, since you were clear in your words that you weren’t going to spare me?”. We aren’t actually going to finish him off, we just want to scare him like he tried to do with us. ‘Speak for yourself!’ Liberty chimes in. But I know she wouldn’t. Unless we are left with no choice. I do really want to scare him big time though, he deserves that much. “You are right, my dragon wasn’t going to spare you, he is like that when angered. But please don’t Lola, I am begging you. I am all my father has left”. “Yeah, well, I don’t know your father, so I really don’t give a f*ck” Liberty replies, before stomping towards him and knocking him unconscious. I hope that was a good experience for him and I hope he learns from it. Just when we are trotting away from the unconscious Damon, an even bigger -and very angry looking- dragon emerges from the sky. I gulp at the sight of him. This must be his father, the dragon King.

Lola POV

Now if I thought Damon’s dragon was big and scary – this one takes the cake. The dragon is a mix of black and red and is easily 25 times the size of a wolf. This must be his father. We were able to exploit Damon’s weakness, but I doubt we can outsmart this monstrous dragon. Although I don’t know dragon body language, I can tell this dragon is absolutely seething after it glanced between me and his unconscious son. Before I can tell Liberty to ‘run forrest, run!’, I am all of a sudden in excruciating pain. It’s not just my head that feels like it’s about to split, or my bones that all feel like they are incinerating, my entire body and soul feel like they are on fire and yet being frozen at the same time. The pain is so bad, I cannot focus on anything else, and I hunch over in agony. Which is bad timing, considering there is a seething dragon gunning for me right now. ‘Lib what the f*ck is this? It’s worse than a first shift?!’ ‘I don’t know Lola, I am in equal pain’ she grits out. ‘Hide behind Damon, so his father won’t be able to burn you while you wait for the pain to subside. Just relax and let it happen’, Liberty says in my mind, but her voice is really odd. It must be from the pain. No time to dwell on it as I crawl over with my last strength, to hide behind Damon. I have never been this incapacitated and I hate being so vulnerable. ‘Now, just let go and let it happen’ Liberty states simply, but let what happen?! ‘Let what happen Lib?’ I ask her. Liberty replies ‘I was about to ask you what you meant by that?!’ huh?

Before I can ask her what the hell is going on, I hear ‘what, no “welcome to the party”?’. I am too stunned to reply, but I hear Liberty ask ‘what?! Welcome to the party, who?’. ‘The name is Justice, believe it or not, lol. Now let me out to play!’. I am completely baffled by this turn of events. I now hear 2 voices in my mind, as if sharing your body and soul with 1 other isn’t enough already. ‘Wh- what are you?!’ I finally manage to ask. ‘You’ll see girls. Let’s show this dragon what we are made of!’. At least this internal conversation was good for distracting me from the excruciating pain, as I feel we have hit the pique and now the pain is slowly subsiding. When I – or should I say Justice? – look down, I see 2 massive white legs ending in huge talons, and a mostly white tail with a red dip dye at the end. ‘You… You are a dragon?! And wow, you are white! I have never read of a white dragon?’ I ask. ‘Yeah, I am special, as are you and Liberty. I don’t spray fire, I spray ice’. Wowwwwww. Sh*t just got real!!!! ‘But ice is a normal dragon’s weakness, right? So, you are like their kryptonite?’. ‘It sure is’ she replies smugly, with a mischievous hint in her voice. Alrighty then, lock and load!

I look up to the dragon of Damon’s father and where it seemed to be seething earlier, it now seems to be pretty docile. But then again, I would be too if I was facing a massive dragon that carries an endless stream of my kryptonite. I smile at the thought. Wow, when did I get so lucky all of a sudden? ‘Nothing to do with luck, you get what you deserve’ Liberty chimes in before we fly off into the sky, right at the altitude of the other dragon, so we are face to face. To my major surprise, the dragon drops to the ground and shifts back. This naked man is now waving me over to come down, and as I look around I can see dumb & dumber have also gathered, as well as the King & Queen and a bunch of warriors. Yeah, if they think I am coming down just to be apprehended and meet my doom, they are sorely mistaken!
