Paisley Daniels looked at the report in her hand with an unpleasant expression. ‘I’m… pregnant?

‘How is that possible?’

Grace looked at her best friend who was trying to eat in the hospital bed. After Hadwin Stephenson left Lina’s ward that day, they had thought Lina would be so sad it would trigger her illness. However, when they walked into the ward, Lina just smiled at them and said, “I’m… a little… sleepy. I want to go to bed…”

Then, Lina really did fall asleep!

When Lina woke up the next day, she was still positive about the matter regarding her illness, but the more her best friend behaved this way, the more uneasy Grace felt.

“What’s wrong… Why are you looking at me like that?” asked

Lina. Although she was still stammering a little these two days, it was much better than a few days ago.

Grace hesitated a little but still asked, “Are you sure you’re okay?” They were alone in the ward now.

Lina swallowed her food and said to Grace, “How can I… be okay? My… feelings for him are real. He and I would’ve gotten married… if this hadn’t happened.”

“Then why aren’t you-”

Lina interjected, “Why am I… not crying? Actually… the night. he came, I… cried alone when my dad was asleep.”

Grace was stunned. She had no idea about such a thing.

Lina made a whispering gesture. “Don’t tell… my dad. He slept so soundly at night that he didn’t notice.”

Grace nodded.

Lina exhaled and said, “Grace, I don’t want to think about…

anything else now. I just want to get well and live for the people who love me and care about me!”

As for Hadwin Stephenson, perhaps they were not suitable for each other. He had always wanted to climb to the pinnacle of power and wealth and be the best, while she just wanted to lead a peaceful life.

In that case, they might as well break up.

It was amazing that Lina was able to pull herself together after suffering such a heartbreak.

Lina chatted for a while before getting sleepy again. She fell into a deep sleep. Kyla Corbyn said with a sigh, “Lina is really strong. She’s probably sad but got over it so quickly.”

Grace said, “Yeah. Lina may seem jolly and simple-minded all the time, but she’s independent and big-hearted. She said she can get over Hadwin Stephenson after a good cry, but… is it that easy?”

People who had been in a relationship before understood how hard it was to let go of someone you once loved deeply.

“Even if it’s not easy, you’ll eventually make it. You can only start a new life after getting over it,” murmured Kyla Corbyn.

Grace turned her head to look at Kyla Corbyn. “Kyla, have you gotten over it?”

Kyla Corbyn looked up and smiled faintly. “Me? I’ve gotten over it. I’ve completely gotten over it.”

“I’ll soon have the evidence of your bone marrow donation to Martin Weiss, and Martin Weiss will know that you’re the one who saved him. He’s unlikely to refuse to donate you his liver,”

said Grace.

Kyla Corbyn shook her head. “He’ll refuse even more. Grace, he told me not to die in front of him. He won’t save me, and I don’t want to be naive again.”

Things had become clear to her in the amusement park. She knew now how much the man loathed and hated her, and she also knew getting over him had been the right choice.

It was easy to say that you did not love someone.
