After returning to New York, Eric appeared at Kaleidoscope as usual. But, he did not give any response to the incident with Eilene; he simply pretended like nothing had happened.
At night, Eric attended an event for a new film like he usually did. But, as he entered the venue, a reporter directly asked, “Mr. Roborts, I heard that Eilene is still in your hands. Is it true that you are holding her captive?”
Eric laughed as he fixed his coat and replied, “The person that started this rumor should directly go to the police; the people that believe it, should sign up for kindergarten; and the people that are asking about it…”
Eric’s response was so powerful that no one was shown any mercy…
“In that case, was it true that you slapped Eilene?”
“You should ask my hand that question.”
“Some people have claimed that Emma became enemies with Eilene because of the Sky Honor Awards. And you ended up being scolded by the public because of your wife…The public believe that the two of you are acting and are merely using each other. What are your thoughts regarding this?”
“I have no thoughts, but I have plenty of legal notices to send out. I have taken note of all the media agencies standing before me.” After speaking coldly, Eric entered the hall, leaving the reporters pale-faced.
Although Eric was usually cold, he had never spoken so ruthlessly in public. But, this time, he deflected every attack thrown at him flawlessly. He also allowed them to have a taste of his temper and the power of his PR abilities.
The reporters didn’t gain any information. Instead…
…they returned back to their agencies in a terrified state.
A while later, Elder Miller gave Eric a phone call, “What exactly happened with Eilene? Did you know that the main judges for the Sky Honor Awards are planning to disregard Emma from the nominations list?”
“Who will be the final recipient for the Best Newcomer Award?”
“I can only guess that it will be a certain actress that is surrounded by rumors of being held captive and threatened,” Elder Miller scoffed. “Didn’t this woman put on an act to achieve this outcome?”
“But, enough about that. I demand you to think of a way to save the current situation, the scandals are getting out of hand.”
“Have the judges already made their decision?”
“Do you think I’m joking?” Elder Miller was so angry, he hung up the phone. However, Eric simply chuckled a little before he put down the phone.
“The old man sure has a bad temper.”
It seemed the judges were planning to throw Emma into last place…
First, there was Emma’s retreat, now, there was news that she was supp**ssing Eilene. The damage done by the two incidences was quite lethal.
But, it wasn’t time to strike back yet…The reaction from the netizens still wasn’t big enough.
“How is Eilene doing? At least give us an update!”
“It’s making me anxious. Is she really being held captive by Eric?”
“I heard her entire body is covered in injuries.”
Seeing the discussions online, some logical people finally spoke up, “Brains are good, I hope you all have them.”
“Eric would never hold anyone captive. After all, he’s not a gangster. Unlike ‘somebody’.”
“Hey, don’t disregard the power of our police force. Did you think that the law is a joke? If something so big actually happened and Kaleidoscope’s Eric actually held someone captive, he’d be facing a policeman like me right now and not a bunch brainless netizens.”
Of course, as soon as other theories arose, discussions became more fierce. As soon as the situation started heading in a different direction to what some netizens wanted to hear, they would start claiming that others were wrong and that they were fake commenters…
Slowly, bloody images and corpses with Eilene’s face began surfacing online…
Mature and experienced people only needed to take one look at the images to immediately point out that the images were too fake and too highly photoshopped. But, some people continued to join the crowd even though they knew that the images were fake.
“Mr. Roborts, when should we start doing some PR?” Fletcher asked as he stood in Eric’s office. “Although you and Emma are already used to scandals like this. It’s best that you deal with it soon.”
“I have my reasons for not dealing with it yet,” Eric said as he looked at Fletcher. “The enemy is still testing the waters and trying to find my bottom line! But, I’m not just dealing with one person this time…”
He was going to deal with them one after another.
After hearing Eric’s words, Fletcher thought of the evil women they were about to go up against…
To be exact, he was waiting to see the fate of these women that were digging their own graves.
“Kaleidoscope will be holding a p**ss conference in two days time. But, I’ve got another plan.”
He was going to resolve the issue with the Sky Honor Awards at the same time!

As for everything else, Fletcher looked at Eric with a deep exp**ssion. He didn’t understand why, in the past, when he was the head of PR and fought multiple battles for Kaleidoscope, he had never felt excited or successful even though he was practically invincible. Yet, ever since Emma appeared, a mix of emotions had finally been triggered!
Because, every single time that Emma required PR, the situation would be like a rollercoaster ride…

So, was Eilene living under the surveillance of Kaleidoscope? Of course, it was all just made up in her mind. Especially after looking into Eric’s eyes, it was impossible for her to forget the coldness that seemed to be emanating from his dark pupils.
So, after returning, she stayed at a hotel owned by Kaleidoscope and assumed that she was being watched over by them. She also believed that she was being held captive by them. But, in reality, she was just scaring herself.
She continuously tried to think of a way to ‘escape’ from Eric’s control and to fight back. In the end, she finally ‘sneaked out’ by climbing down the third floor pipes…
In reality, there had never been anyone guarding over her door. The hotel staff was merely accompanied by two bodyguards whenever he delivered her food, and that was enough to make Eilene assume that her every move was under surveillance.
This was all a mind-game deliberately created by Eric.
So, as soon as Eilene ‘escaped’, she gave her man a phone call. Afterwards, she also gave the media a phone call. She cried as she claimed that she barely escaped with her life, that Kaleidoscope was a corrupt agency and that Eric was a devil.
“I simply invited Miss Miller for a chat. I thought, since we were both so far away from home, she was bound to be a little scared. But, Eric used this opportunity to threaten me into withdrawing from the Sky Honor Awards and forced me to hand the award over to Emma.”
“Because of this, he slapped me. And to satisfy his greed, he held me captive. But, I refused to buckle…”
“He locked me in a hotel room and got two bodyguards to watch over me. It wasn’t easy for me to sneak out through the window while no one was looking…”
In front of the cameras, Eilene looked exhausted. Her eyes were swollen red, like she had suffered from serious mental abuse. Her appearance ignited the sympathy of the public.
“It wasn’t easy…it really wasn’t easy for me to escape!” after saying these words in bet**en sobs, Eilene knelt on the ground and broke down in tears.
“Oh God, if this is the truth, then there’s definitely something wrong with Kaleidoscope.”
“Eric should be punished for treating a woman like this.”
