Secretary Gulfman swallowed nervously as she clasped her hands together. After struggling with her thoughts for a while, she finally gave up, “I’ll tell you everything. But, you need to promise me that you won’t send me to the police.”

“I can do that, but you need to do something for me.”

…

Elodie continued to live in the Miller Household; apart from this place, she had nowhere else to go. After all, Elder Miller had previously proclaimed that no matter what mistakes she made, she was still the Big Miss of the Miller Family and this would forever be her home. In reality, he merely said this to keep her grounded and not to cause anymore troubles in case she hurt the child in her stomach.

That night, light snowfall fell upon New York.

Elder Miller instructed his housekeeper to prepare a big feast as Emma would be hosting a dinner at their house.

It had been a long time since Emma had last returned to the Miller Household, so Elder Miller joyously made preparations. But, while the household was filled with glee, Elodie was the only one that felt like she was trapped inside a torturous cage.

It didn’t take long before the guests invited by Emma, began to arrive. The shareholders originally thought that the Miller Family were treating them to a new year dinner in advance.

But, as the elders sat down around the dinner table, they looked at each other and felt something wasn’t quite right.

“Chairman, the Third Miss invited us here for dinner, but why isn’t she here yet?”

Elder Miller touched his walking stick with a joyous smile, “She’s on her way. The weather is cold and the roads are sl*ppery, so I told her to be careful.”

Chester and Herman huddled together to chat, treating Elodie like she was on another planet. Meanwhile, Elodie supported her back as she sat in her seat looking down at her protruding belly…

At this time, the housekeeper approached and whispered to Elder Miller, “Chairman, the Third Miss and Third Master are here.”

Afterwards, everyone looked towards the entrance and watched as Eric walked in with his arm around Emma. The couple had a supp**ssing and dignified presence, like the human equivalents of a Dragon and Phoenix with a unique aura.

“Sorry for making everyone wait.”

“Hurry, the food’s ready…” Elder Miller said as he pointed to the two seats beside him.

Emma smiled as Eric’s eyes deepened. Of course, he was merely here to serve as a backdrop for Emma, but this backdrop was much too striking and hard to ignore.

“I’ve invited you all here today to serve as an apology for any disrespect I may have shown over the past few days,” Emma said as she lifted her teacup. “I shall toast you with tea in instead of wine as a token of goodwill.”

“Child, you sure are made for the business world. You’ve never studied management, but you know the tricks to being a good leader; you know the balance bet**en justice and mercy,” one of the shareholders praised.

Although the other shareholders weren’t completely convinced by Emma, they couldn’t exp**ss their true thoughts at a time like this, so they simply smiled.

“Thank you for your praise. When it comes to management, I am just a rookie. However, I have invited you here today not just to apologize but also because I have another matter to deal with in front of everyone.”

“Third Miss, if you have something to say, please go ahead.”

After hearing these words, Emma lifted her head and looked at Elodie. Elodie responded with a mocking smile, “In what way have I upset you this time? Are you going to do something to me again?”

“Emma, I never thought you’d cling onto a sewer rat and not let go,” to emphasize her pitiful state, Elodie squeaked like a rat, “Speak, what is it this time?”

“I’ve heard news about my mother,” Emma said calmly.

Elodie’s exp**ssion changed in an instant.

“Although we haven’t located her just yet…I think the Big Miss can explain the situation to all of us.”

“What does the Third Miss mean by this?” one of the shareholders asked. “What does President Cooper’s kidnapping have to do with the Big Miss?”

Elodie’s face was stiff, but she wasn’t willing to admit defeat, “Emma, I know I’m a failure, but don’t implicate me with every single issue. Bertha went missing because she was down on her luck, what has that got to do with me?”

“I knew you wouldn’t admit it,” Emma revealed a mocking smile. “I also know that all those seated here today had previously caused a lot of trouble and difficulty for my mother, so I’ve gathered you all here today to lay the cards on the table.”

With Emma’s words, everyone finally realized that they weren’t merely here for a dinner. They had been lured into a fatal trap!

And Emma’s motive was simple: she was going to make them pay!

“Elodie, think it over carefully. If you leave this issue for me to expose…your child may have to grow up in jail.”

Elodie was forced into a panic as she slammed her hands on the table and stood up, “Don’t go too far! I already have nothing left. What do you want to do to me?”

“I don’t want to do anything to you, I simply want you to tell the truth,” Emma remained calm. “Why is it so difficult to get the truth from you?”

“I don’t know what you’re talking about,” Elodie denied without considering the circumstances at all. At this time, one of the shareholders couldn’t mind his own business and started criticizing Emma.

“Third Miss, I know you currently hold a lot of power in your hands, but you don’t need to force a pregnant lady into a dead end. I believe, no matter how bad she is, she would never have the guts to play with someone’s life.”

“But you’re right, my intention is to force her into a dead end,” Emma admitted straightforwardly. “This has nothing to do with whether she is pregnant or not.”

“Because to me, she can not be considered human…”

The disgust in Emma’s eyes were obvious. She did not hide her hatred for Elodie whatsoever.

“Forget it, even if you do admit to your wrongdoings, I wouldn’t be used to it anyway.” After speaking, Emma signalled to the doorway by clapping her hands. Secretary Gulfman was seen quivering as she stumbled into the dining room. “Secretary Gulfman, I’ll let you explain everything.”

As soon as Elodie realized the truth was about to be exposed, she immediately yelled at Secretary Gulfman, “If you dare to say a word, I’ll get someone to cut your t***ue off!”

Hearing this threat, everyone was shocked…

Her response made it seem like she had something to hide.

But, Secretary Gulfman wasn’t someone who couldn’t determine the seriousness of the situation. Emma had complete control over her fate, so she of course listened to Emma, “The truth is, President Cooper wasn’t actually kidnapped by criminals. She was taken away by people that the Big Miss had paid and I’m not sure whether she’s currently dear or alive.”

“The Big Miss wanted the position of CEO. She thought that if she got rid of President Cooper, then her wish would come true. But she never expected…”

“You’re lying!” Elodie yelled angrily, “Emma must have paid you to say this.”

“Big Miss, it’s best you stop denying. I have plenty of evidence in my hands. You won’t be able to get away with it.”

Elodie’s eyes grew big. Her reddened eyes couldn’t hide her fears and emotions, “I didn’t do it…This wench is framing me…”

However, at this moment, no one trusted Elodie’s words anymore.

Chester hated seeing her family fight, so she stood up to leave. After she was gone, Herman took the opportunity to shuffle over next to Emma, just in case Elodie wanted to do something extreme. After all, she had a history of playing tricks.

“Emma, will you not settle until I die?”

“Didn’t I tell you before that it was just the start? This does not compare even a thousandth of what you have done to me in the past,” Emma said coldly before pulling out Secretary Gulfman’s phone. “This phone has a record of all the calls you made to Secretary Gulfman and includes evidence of how you planned the entire incident. I even got the names of a few other people who were involved. Do you want me to report it to the police?”

Elodie wanted to argue back, but no words came out.

“Big Miss, just admit defeat. Otherwise, both of us will have to go to jail.”

“President Cooper isn’t around anymore. This could be considered as murder. Think it over carefully…”

Elodie didn’t say a word as she clenched her fists. Meanwhile, Emma had no intention to continue waiting, so she directly pulled out her phone and called the police.

Secretary Gulfman was so frightened that her entire body trembled. All she could do was plead Elodie, “Big Miss, Big Miss…please.”

At first, Elodie did not budge. But, just as the phone was about to be connected, she finally said in a raspy voice, “Tell me your conditions?”

Emma hung up the phone and handed it to Eric. She then stared into Elodie’s eyes and said, “Give me your shares for Miller Corps!”

“Haha…” Elodie suddenly erupted in laughter, “Emma, you sure are ruthless.”
