Isabella let out a breath, amused. Resting her hand on her forehead, she let her gaze sweep over his sharp features.
“You’re the CEO of the Klein Group. If people knew you were a sugar baby, what do you think it would do to your reputation?” she replied, her tone half-joking.
The image of Andrew, with his commanding presence, being labeled a sugar baby was so absurd it almost made her laugh.
“You’re already perfect as you are,” she said with a soft smile.
“This suits you much better. We don’t need to copy anyone else—not even Milly and Howard. Don’t you agree, Andrew?”
“Understood.”
Andrew returned to his meal with his usual poise, but Isabella could detect a faint shadow of disappointment in his expression.
Her gaze softened as she began to reflect more deeply. Perhaps taking inspiration from Milly and Howard’s approach—choosing only the parts that suited them—might not be such a bad idea after all.
At the Golden Club, Tatiana was meeting with Victor and Austen, and everything seemed to be going smoothly. Suddenly, Jedidiah approached her and showed her his phone.
Tatiana and Victor had been engaged in a pleasant conversation. The paparazzo had caused some trouble for Edge Entertainment, which had put her in a good mood. That was why, after they finished discussing their collaboration, the group didn’t disperse immediately.
But when Jedidiah showed her his phone, Tatiana’s smile instantly vanished.
“How could it be him…”
Tatiana’s eyes locked on the picture of Howard and Milly. They looked so intimate and happy together!
This was definitely not the result she had wanted!
What was the paparazzo thinking? How could he have mistaken Howard for a toy boy? Even Tatiana found his face familiar when she saw the photo.
And how could Milly, an actress of all people, win over Howard? Who gave her the right to claim him as hers?
Tatiana felt a surge of jealousy as she gazed at Howard’s smile in the photo. If that damn accident hadn’t occurred, she would have been the one with Howard by now and spared herself all the pain she’d endured since then!
However, even before the accident, Howard had never smiled so warmly when he was with her. It was clear that he truly cared about Milly.
Tatiana gritted her teeth. When she compared herself to Milly, she realized she couldn’t match up. The only thing she still had to cling to was her title as a Best Actress winner, but even that was slipping away since she wasn’t acting anymore.
What could be more infuriating than discovering that her ex-fianc? had moved on to someone far better than her?
That was exactly how Tatiana felt.
The director who was dining with her wasn’t particularly famous. When Tatiana was in a good mood, he would go out of his way to accommodate her, but if she was upset, he knew to slip away quietly.
He looked at her with respect and said, “Miss Fernandez, if you have other matters to attend to, I won’t keep you any longer. I’ll make sure the TV series preparations are handled properly.”
Once he left, Tatiana couldn’t contain her frustration any longer. She slammed her hand onto the table in anger.
Austen, sitting across from her, was caught off guard. He stood up, glancing at Jedidiah, unsure of how to react.
The sound of Tatiana slamming her hand on the table released all the anger she had been holding in, and then, with a calm demeanor, she asked, “Isabella is going to hold that paparazzo accountable. Have you dealt with him?”
“Don’t worry, Miss Fernandez. Everything has been handled.”
Though Austen didn’t know what was going on, hearing Isabella’s name made him realize that Tatiana’s anger was connected to her.
He lowered his gaze, recalling the first time he met Isabella. A subtle resentment began to build inside him.
If it weren’t for her, Tatiana wouldn’t be this angry. And if Tatiana wasn’t so angry, he wouldn’t feel so humiliated himself.
Tatiana, though visibly upset, knew she couldn’t take direct action against Milly since she wasn’t with Global Entertainment. She wanted to confront Howard, but the humiliation she had felt the last time they crossed paths still weighed heavily on her.
When Milly’s relationship with Howard was exposed, the entire industry began mocking Tatiana. They all praised Howard for his “good taste” this time. Tatiana knew she had to prove herself, to show that she was far superior to Milly.
Suddenly, she shot a sharp look at Austen, her eyes accentuated with dark eyeliner.
“Make sure you go over the script I gave you. And don’t neglect the game live streaming. Before filming for the TV series begins, you need to maintain your public image as a gaming genius. Understood?”
“Understood.”
Austen, now unnerved by Tatiana’s intense gaze, nodded quickly.
He had gained some fame, but when he was still in the club, although his coach had been demanding, he had never been as unpredictable or capricious as Tatiana.
As Austen thought about his earlier experiences, he briefly questioned if joining Global Entertainment had been the right move.
No! Global Entertainment was the biggest entertainment company in the country. How could a small club compete with it? People always strive for bigger opportunities, and what he was doing now was the right choice.
The unease in Austen’s eyes began to fade, replaced by confidence. He knew he had the looks and skills to make it big. With his connection to the chairman of Global Entertainment, he was determined to make the most of this opportunity and rise to the top.
At three o’clock in the afternoon, sunlight filtered warmly through the office windows.
Isabella dialed the number she had saved the previous night.
“Have the items we discussed yesterday all been shipped? Just deliver them to Klein Group. Thank you.”
After receiving confirmation, Isabella hung up the phone with satisfaction.
She stood from her chair, walked over to the floor-to-ceiling window, and gazed out while resting her chin in her hand.
She had noticed the disappointment in Andrew’s expression during dinner the previous night. While she couldn’t indulge him the way Milly indulged Howard, she thought it would still be nice to let him experience what it felt like to be pampered.
Isabella tapped her fingers lightly, eager to see Andrew’s reaction when he received the surprise she had prepared.
At Klein Group, a deliveryman arrived with a bouquet of flowers, the note indicating they were for Mr. Klein. The receptionists were surprised and quickly called the CEO’s secretary, Malachi.
“Please come down and see what to do. We cannot handle this ourselves.”
Malachi hurried to the lobby, frowning as he looked at the flowers. He had no idea who had sent them.
The deliveryman, careful not to make a mistake, explained how precious the flowers were.
The stunning Juliet Roses, in full bloom, had been carefully picked in the early morning from one of the world’s most renowned private gardens, when their delicate petals were still kissed with morning dew. After being placed in a preservation box, they were transported to Ansport. A florist then meticulously packaged them, ensuring every step was taken with care before they were delivered.
Malachi gazed at the flowers, conflicted. They were undeniably beautiful and valuable, but their CEO already had someone in his heart. The women in Ansport who once sought his attention now kept their distance. Yet, someone had still sent these flowers.
Was it because the sender believed their powerful background would make a difference?
He couldn’t help but wonder which young lady was bold enough to send these flowers, and why her approach was so unusual. Who would send roses to a man?
Malachi muttered under his breath, thinking it best to open the card and see who had sent the flowers before making a decision. If he handed them to Andrew without knowing, he could very well be met with a cold stare and a sharp, “Don’t you have more important things to do?”
Malachi knew Andrew all too well—his speculation about his boss’s attitude wasn’t just conjecture; it was a certainty born from experience. When he opened the card, his eyes immediately darted to the bottom right corner. The signature there shattered his composure in an instant.
It was from Isabella? What could this mean? Was there some significance to today that he’d overlooked? It puzzled him—why would she send Andrew flowers right after their lunch meeting earlier that day?
Though his mind raced with possibilities, Malachi quickly reined in his thoughts. Carefully returning the card to its original position, he addressed the delivery person with practiced professionalism.
“I will personally ensure Mr. Klein receives these flowers. You have my word.”
Relief washed over the delivery person’s face.
“Then I’ll report back to my customer.”
The dramatic shift in Malachi’s demeanor after reading the card didn’t go unnoticed by the front desk staff. Curiosity burned in their minds about who could have sent flowers that passed Malachi’s stringent screening. Yet, knowing it concerned Andrew’s private affairs, none dared to inquire.
Malachi stood at Andrew’s office door, flowers in hand, and knocked. Only after hearing permission did he step inside.
“Mr. Klein, these flowers were delivered for you. I took the liberty of bringing them up personally.”
