“I am her.”

Hank laughed, clearly thinking she was joking.

“Got it. You’re Night Cat, not Night Cat M. No problem! I’ll get you into the team. If there’s a part you can’t handle, just skip it, and we’ll take over.”

Hank and the others didn’t take Isabella’s words seriously, assuming she was just joking.

Isabella’s smile deepened, but she didn’t bother to explain. If they didn’t believe her, she’d let her skills do the talking.

The game began, and the vibrant interface lit up the screen.

Isabella quickly scanned the setup—it was different from what she was used to. She took a few seconds to adapt, and during those moments, she missed a few notes, which Hank swiftly handled.

The game was designed as a team-based showcase of skill, requiring multiple players to work together to conquer an exceptionally difficult song.

Isabella was assigned the first stage, which ensured that if she failed, someone else could step in and salvage the run.

Isabella rested her slender fingers on the screen, exhaled softly, and waited for the music to start.

As the first notes rang out, a beautiful, melodic tune filled the air. Her fingers began to move, finding the rhythm. At first, Hank and the others watched her progress with mild interest. She was keeping up decently, but nothing remarkable—yet. The tempo began to quicken, and the notes came faster and more erratically. The others braced themselves to step in, confident Isabella wouldn’t be able to keep up. But Isabella’s hands moved with effortless precision. Her fingers danced, hitting every note perfectly. Her movements were light and graceful, like fluttering butterflies, but her accuracy was razor-sharp.

“Is this real?” Hank muttered, his voice barely audible.

He and his friends stared in disbelief at Isabella’s hands. Her fingers moved so quickly across the screen that they were a blur, nearly impossible to follow.

“Could it be…she’s really Night Cat?” one of them muttered.

Hank recalled his brother once saying that once someone was over twenty, their finger agility began to decline. Yet here was Isabella, effortlessly completing a stage designed for five players, all on her own.

As the final notes of the game faded, the screen lit up with the results.

Isabella glanced at her score and raised an eyebrow.

Her personal overall score? SSS—again.

Hank stared at the screen, then back at Isabella. His mouth opened as if to speak, but no words came out. After a moment, he swallowed hard and raised his thumb.

“That was epic!” he exclaimed.

“I believe it now—you’re definitely Night Cat! Let’s go for another round!”

Isabella laughed lightly and nodded. The game had hooked her, and she was eager to keep playing.

The five of them dove back into the game, winning match after match. By the end of seven rounds, Hank’s initial promotion goal had been far exceeded.

Isabella rotated her wrist, glancing at the time. It was getting late, and she decided it was time to say goodbye to the boys.

Before she could leave, Hank seemed hesitant but finally spoke up.

“Wait, can I ask you for a favor?”

Isabella tilted her head curiously.

“What do you need?”

“I want to invite you to join our team,” Hank said earnestly.

“We’ve been one teammate short for a while now and need someone like you.”

Isabella paused, considering his words.

“Hank, I enjoy playing with you guys, but… what’s your goal with the team? What are you planning to do?”

She hadn’t forgotten the tension between Hank and Austen. Before committing, she needed to know the full story.

Hank didn’t shy away.

“Austen left my brother’s club, took half the players with him, and smeared my brother’s reputation.

My goal is simple—I want to rank in the top ten, match against Austen during one of his live streams, and clear my brother’s name in front of the entire audience.”

After Hank finished speaking, he and his three teammates turned their attention to Isabella.

Since Isabella was Night Cat, her joining their team would almost guarantee a victory over Austen and maybe even a chance to expose his true nature.

But after thinking it over, Isabella made a calm, logical decision.

“I’m sorry, but I don’t think I’m the right fit for your team. I’m sure you can find someone better. If there’s anything else you need help with, feel free to reach out.”

It wasn’t that Isabella didn’t sympathize with Hank’s brother or that she wasn’t touched by Hank’s and his friends’ sincerity. But their plan carried too many uncertainties for her. Plus, it didn’t feel right for her to join their team as she was.

Hank and the others looked disappointed, but they understood her choice.

“Will you still play with us sometime, Isabella?”

“Of course,” Isabella replied with a warm smile.

“It’s been a pleasure getting to know you all.” Then, she left the cafe.

Hank didn’t continue leveling up in the game. Instead, he and his teammates dove into analyzing Isabella’s gaming style, practicing relentlessly to improve their speed and skills.

The filming of Milly and Watkins’ new reality show was about to begin, which would last a week, with a mix of live and recorded segments. For convenience, Milly decided to move out of the Patton Manor the night before and stay at Howard’s penthouse in the downtown area.

“I’ve already arranged everything at the apartment. I’ll come with you today,” Howard said, pulling out a suitcase.

“I’ve packed the things you’ll need for the show.”

Milly blinked, glancing at the contents of the suitcase.

“You’re coming with me? What if they spot you?”

“That’s not a problem. I’ll leave before they arrive.”

Howard gently wrapped his arms around Milly’s waist.

“I can’t leave you alone in such a big apartment at night, can I?”

Milly tilted her head, giving Howard a curious look. Was he really worried about a killer like her being alone in a large apartment?

But then, she nodded, her expression softening.

“You’re right. I’d be scared if you weren’t with me.”

“That’s exactly why I need to be with you,” Howard said, planting a kiss on Milly’s cheek.

“Let’s see if there’s anything else you need to bring. If not, we can head out now.”

“Okay.”

The next morning, the production crew set up a live broadcast outside Milly’s penthouse.

“Hey, guys, we’ll see Milly soon. Let’s knock on the door now!”

After addressing the live broadcast camera, the filming director raised his hand and knocked on the door. The audience in the live broadcast room waited in anticipation.

“I wonder if Milly is different in real life compared to her TV persona?”
