Before the flower shop owner could respond to the flood of comments, the conversation had already shifted, burying the earlier speculation. She held her phone tightly with both hands, hesitating.

Milly had mentioned the flowers were for someone who was feeling down, so they clearly weren’t for herself. The shop owner remembered describing the meaning of different flowers to Milly, expecting her to choose cheerful sunflowers. But Milly had chosen roses instead—delicate, romantic roses. Could she really be in love?

The thought startled her. If it were true, who could Milly’s love possibly be?

Lately, rumors online had been buzzing about a potential romance between Milly and Watkins. Fans were speculating that their on-screen chemistry might have carried over into real life. It wasn’t entirely impossible.

Meanwhile, Milly was completely unaware of the chatter her flower purchase had stirred among her fans. As she drove, her eyes flicked toward the bouquet resting on the passenger seat.

The roses were vibrant, their soft fragrance filling the car. The more she looked at them, the more she felt their color perfectly suited Howard’s calm and composed personality.

A faint smile touched her lips. She hoped the flowers would lift Howard’s spirits, just as the director had suggested.

The car rolled into Patton Manor, its tires crunching softly against the gravel.

Milly stepped out, the bouquet cradled carefully in her hands, and began walking toward Howard’s villa.

The lush green grass framed a winding stone path, its charm almost poetic.

Milly, dressed in a sharp khaki suit with her hair tied up high, walked with natural elegance. Her long, straight legs were accentuated by black boots, and her confident strides exuded effortless style.

Her radiant, captivating appearance didn’t go unnoticed. The passing servants couldn’t help but pause, their eyes drawn to her.

“Miss Duncan looks stunning, even when she’s just walking,” one of them murmured, admiration clear in their voice.

“Those flowers must be for Mr. Howard Patton.

Miss Duncan often gives him gifts.”

“It seems so. When Miss Duncan and Mr. Patton had just started dating, he was the one always taking care of her. But now, it feels like the roles have reversed.”

Their voices were low, but Milly’s sharp ears caught every word. She paused mid-stride and turned to glance at them. The servants froze, their faces pale, realizing they might have been overheard. Bracing themselves for a reprimand, they exchanged nervous glances. But Milly said nothing. Her gaze lingered for a moment before she turned away, resuming her walk without a word.

When she reached the villa door, she stopped and rang the doorbell with one hand, holding the bouquet in the other.

Inside, Howard, already guessing it was Milly, took a deep breath to compose himself before opening the door.

As soon as the door swung open, the sweet fragrance of the roses enveloped him. Howard’s eyes widened in surprise as he took in the sight of Milly standing there, holding the bouquet out to him.

At Global Entertainment, the atmosphere was tense. When Tatiana saw that Edge Entertainment’s newest drama had dominated the ratings and their actors’ popularity had soared, her face darkened with jealousy.

Her newly appointed assistant stood nearby, remote in hand, flipping through slides on the large screen. She focused on delivering the presentation, her voice steady despite the growing tension in the room.

“Moving on from external pressures, here is the current state of our company. Our company’s strength has been in decline. The upward trajectory for our first-tier artists has stagnated, and many of their contracts are nearing expiration. If we can’t offer them competitive terms to renew, they are likely to leave and establish their own studios.”

The assistant hesitated before continuing, glancing nervously at Tatiana.

“Additionally, Miss Fernandez, I’ve gathered intel suggesting that the shareholders are increasingly dissatisfied with your leadership. They’ve called for an emergency meeting and agreed to give you one last chance. If the company’s performance doesn’t improve significantly under your direction, they will vote to elect a new chairman.”

Global Entertainment had once been the crown jewel of the entertainment industry, thriving under Hector’s leadership. But since Tatiana took over, the company had been on a steady decline. Profits shrank, and one failed investment after another dragged its reputation down.

Desperate to save her crumbling empire, Tatiana hired a private assistant, Jedidiah Mason. Jedidiah was known for his sharp insights and problem-solving skills, and Tatiana hoped he could provide the direction the company so desperately needed. What Jedidiah had just outlined echoed exactly what had been keeping Tatiana awake at night.

Tatiana had given up her acting career to focus entirely on managing the company. However, her lack of business expertise soon became apparent. At first, the shareholders were patient, watching her management with cautious optimism. But as losses piled up, their trust eroded, and Hector’s once-untouchable legacy seemed like a distant memory. Now, the board was losing faith, and some shareholders, especially Denzel Davenport, openly discussed replacing her with someone else.

Jedidiah turned off the projector and faced Tatiana.

“Miss Fernandez, what’s your plan?” he asked, his voice calm but firm.

Tatiana leaned back in her chair and sighed.

“I don’t have one.” Her last investment in a clothing brand had been a disaster, resulting in massive losses. Every project she’d attempted since had floundered. Now, she was out of ideas and patience.

“Jedidiah, I brought you in to give me advice,” Tatiana said, her voice tinged with frustration.

“So, let’s not waste time. Just tell me what you think I should do.”

Jedidiah studied her for a moment before speaking.

“I’ve analyzed your past investments, and the issue is clear. You’ve been venturing into fields you’re unfamiliar with—areas where you lack expertise. That’s been your biggest mistake. Global Entertainment is, at its core, an entertainment company. And you, Miss Fernandez, were an award-winning actress. Even though you’ve stepped away from the screen, your instincts for the entertainment industry remain strong. You know which films will succeed, what trends are worth capitalizing on, and which projects are doomed to fail.

My advice? Stop chasing ventures outside your expertise. Focus on what you know—what you excel at. Take Edge Entertainment as an example. They’ve stayed within their niche, and look where they are now—dominating the market. You could do the same and rebuild Global Entertainment’s foundation in the industry you understand best.”

Tatiana’s recent efforts had all been aimed at undermining Edge Entertainment. Now, hearing Jedidiah suggest that she learn from Isabella felt like a slap in the face.

But Tatiana understood what was more important between pride and survival. After a moment of silence, she made up her mind.

“I see your point,” she said firmly.

“Compile a list of the most popular trending topics for me. I’ll review them.”

Jedidiah nodded.

“I’ll get started right away. However, there’s another matter to address. The board is growing restless. If they keep causing disruptions, you won’t be able to concentrate on your work. It might be time to consider signing a performance-based agreement.”

Tatiana’s heart skipped a beat. The idea was daunting, but she nodded nonetheless.

“Alright.”

She knew the risks involved. A performance-based agreement would mean staking her position at the company. If she failed, she’d likely be forced to step down. But Tatiana believed in herself. This was her chance to prove her worth and silence the doubters once and for all.

Jedidiah quickly compiled the requested information and sent it to Tatiana’s desk.

As Tatiana skimmed the document, her eyes landed on one word: “esports.”

On Sunday, Isabella sat in her office at Edge Entertainment, staring at the signed contracts on her desk. Her mind, however, was elsewhere—thinking about Andrew.

He had left for a business trip to negotiate a partnership. When he was around, she didn’t give his presence much thought. But now that he was away, even deciding what to eat for lunch felt like an insurmountable task.

Her assistant entered the room, ready to collect the signed contracts. She paused upon seeing Isabella’s pensive expression.

“Miss Patton, is there anything else you’d like me to handle?”

Isabella shook her head with a faint smile.

“No, I was just trying to decide what to eat for lunch. You can take these.”

The assistant took the contracts but didn’t leave immediately. After a moment of hesitation, she spoke again.

“There’s a new restaurant on the sixth floor of the mall nearby. I tried it recently, and it’s fantastic. Their dishes are refreshing and perfect for this weather.”

Isabella hadn’t been craving anything in particular, but the suggestion sparked her interest. She looked up at the assistant and smiled.

“That sounds promising. Let’s try it for lunch. Would you like to join me?”

The assistant was momentarily caught off guard by Isabella’s warm smile but quickly recovered. She shook her head politely.

“Thank you for the kind offer, Miss Patton, but I’ve already made plans for lunch with a friend.”

Isabella nodded understandingly.

“No problem. If you’ve got plans, I won’t hold you up. It’s almost time to clock out anyway—you can get ready to head out.”

The assistant gave a polite nod and left.

Isabella grabbed her phone, bag, and car keys, deciding to check out the restaurant herself.
