Flossie was stunned for a moment before replying, “I simply said it to protect Lafayette…”

“I see,” Emma deliberately provoked Herman.

She wanted him to think about what woman he had chosen when there was a great woman right beside him that he didn’t know how to appreciate.

Herman cleared his throat to signify that he was also present, gesturing for his clever sister to not continue making the atmosphere awkward.

Flossie’s ears burned red, but calmly stood to one side to give Herman some space. Eric was sitting at his desk working the entire time. His silence meant that he was going to leave Emma to do whatever she wanted. Only when Emma no longer wanted to handle the matter, would he step in and take over.

“Sister Three…”

“The entire nation knows that Flossie likes you now. How do you expect her to find a boyfriend?” Emma raised her eyebrows questioningly. “She’s a woman, but in order to protect you, she risked her image by bravely stepping forward. Yet, what did you do?”

“I will never forget the lesson I have learned today,” Herman ridiculed himself. “Don’t worry, my heart will get stronger with practice…I will never be this naive and stupid again. I will focus on achieving my goals and leaving a lasting imp**ssion on the music industry.”

“Flossie, help me take him home,” Emma knew the incident had given Herman quite a blow, so she deliberately tried to allow Flossie to go with him and provide him comfort.

“OK,” Flossie’s exp**ssion was professional, but when she heard Herman say that his heart would get stronger with practice, she couldn’t help but feel a slight twitch in her heart.

Herman turned and left Eric’s office while Flossie followed closely behind.

“Flossie, sorry and thank you.”

Flossie shook her head gesturing that she didn’t care, “Emma was the one that protected you. I didn’t play much of a role.”

“No, your courage meant a lot to me.” After speaking, Herman led Flossie into the elevator.

After returning home, Elder Miller was waiting for Herman on the sofa. As soon as he saw him, he said, “Some people are completely ungrateful, while others are loyal and righteous. Old Four, doesn’t grandfather have good taste?”

Herman’s l*ps curved upwards but he did not say a word.

“The young lady made such a big sacrifice. You should pick out a present on my behalf to thank her.”

“Understood.” Herman was tired, so he returned directly to his bedroom, but it didn’t mean that he dismissed Elder Miller’s words.

As he lay in his bed, he looked at the glass equipment on his desk. Suddenly, a thought came to his mind: he knew what he could do for Flossie.

At that moment, the room fell into complete silence. Meanwhile, Elodie was in the living room standing opposite Elder Miller with her hands on her h*ps, “Grandfather, is Auntie Cooper going to Switzerland tomorrow?”

There was a flash of deeper meaning in Elder Miller’s eyes, but he did not let Elodie pick up on it. He simply nodded his head, “Uh huh, it was a little delayed, but she still has to go.”

Elodie gave a slight smile and quickly changed the subject, “Is Herman OK?”

“With Emma around, nothing could possibly go wrong,” as he mentioned her name, Elder Miller couldn’t help but look proud. His reaction was a form of mockery for Elodie, because when Herman was in trouble, she didn’t do anything as his older sister. Now that everything was resolved, she finally pretended to show some concern.

“That’s good to hear…” Elodie’s gaze showed a hint of sharpness.

His every word was Emma. Did she hold no weight in his heart, she wondered.

She obviously had a Miller Family descendant in her stomach!

But, it didn’t matter, Miller Corps. was about to undergo a change in management anyway, so she might as well let the mother and daughter act arrogantly for a few more days…

Once everything was finalized and Miller Corps. returned to her hands. She would let the two women see how she could torture them.

“I heard the Pembroke Family has come across a small obstacle. Some prohibited items have been found on their sh*ps. If you need help, let me know.” Elder Miller said these words to remind Elodie that the Pembroke Family were occupied with protecting themselves, so she could no longer rely on them for support. In fact, there was a huge possibility that they would use her to empty out the funds from Miller Corps.

Yet, Elodie still managed to reply with a smile, “It’s fine, everything will be solved soon.”

She sure was confident.

Elder Miller laughed on the inside because he knew who was actually controlling everything behind-the-scenes. Elodie was temporarily left alone, but the fact that the Pembroke Family were also involved was something that Eric wasn’t going to let go of.

Everything would be solved soon? It was more likely that it would never be solved.

“Tell me mom, what place isn’t messy?” Elodie was hinting towards the internal problems that Elodie was causing at Miller Corps., “Now that Herman has learned his lesson, he will naturally mature from this experience. You don’t need to worry about him.”

“It’s not that I am worried about him. I am worried about you,” Bertha said as she looked at Emma’s stomach, “You’re pregnant, yet you’re running around worrying about others…”

“The trip to Switzerland tomorrow is definitely going to be dangerous. Mom, you need to always be alert,” Emma warned as she r*bbed her stomach, “My child and I aren’t that delicate, you don’t need to worry about us.”

“OK,” Bertha nodded seriously. ” For the sake of seeing my grandchild, I will make sure nothing happens to me.”

3pm in Switzerland. Bertha and her assistant exited the airport together. Emma had told her that Eric’s people would be waiting for her and they were to be dressed in brown coats and black caps with a newspaper in their hands. On their ch*st would be a badge with Kaleidoscope’s Italian name written on it.

So, as soon as Bertha walked out of the airport, she immediately spotted Eric’s people. Knowing that she now had assistance, she let go of her nervousness and relaxed.
