After all, it was important for an artist to expand their connections.

“Show Stella around,” said Brian,

However, Stella approached Brian and made a gesture to take his arm.

Brian leaned slightly to avoid Stella’s hand and she failed to take his arm. Stella immediately looked embarra**ed.

“Well… Brian, why don’t you show me around and meet some people with me? I’ll feel better if you accompany me.” Stella feigned nervousness.

Grace did not bother to watch Stella pretend and turned her head to look around. She suddenly trembled when she saw the people she wanted to see tonight!

It was Martin Weiss and Paisley Daniels. ‘There they are!’

Grace hurriedly said to Brian, “I see the people I’m looking for.” Then, she walked in Martin Weiss and Paisley Daniels’s direction.

Looking at Grace’s back view as she took hurried steps, Brian suddenly felt a sense of loss.

Stella felt jealous when she saw Brian’s eyes chasing Grace’s back. “I wonder what’s going on between Grace and Jason? Although they’ve broken up, I heard they’re still in touch with each other.”

The latter part was just an offhand remark by Stella intended to make Brian dislike Grace.

However, once she said so, Brian turned his head and looked at her with a cold, sharp look.

Stella trembled, feeling as though he had seen through her.

“Stella, you should know that Grace is the one I love. I don’t want you to talk bad about her in front of me anymore,” Brian said coldly.

Stella stammered, “I… I wasn’t. I’m just-”

“You just what?” There was no emotion in those dark phoenix eyes. Accompanied with that cold voice, there seemed to be an invisible pressure that almost suffocated her.

Stella was somewhat startled. Ever since she a**umed Grace’s identity, Brian’s attitude toward her had always been gentle and polite. He would always be tolerant even though she had done something wrong.

However, he was so cold right now!

Suddenly, her mind flashed back to the online comments she previously read about Brian.

‘Indifferent, hard-hearted, ruthless… Maybe this is the real him?’ The Brian she knew was just an illusion he gave her because he thought she was his savior.

‘His gentleness and tolerance are reserved for the little girl who saved him when he was a child! Not for the real me!

‘Is his gentle and tolerant side only reserved for Grace now that he has fallen in love with her?”

When the idea crossed Stella’s mind, she felt as if her body was getting colder.

Brian said coldly, “Stella, you saved me, so I’ll make sure you’ll live a good life no matter what happens. It’s just that all we have is the friendship we had when we were little.”

Stella could only feel her cheeks burning. His words were like a slap in her face. Even though he made it subtle, Stella knew Brian was warning her not to have any funny ideas!

Standing behind Stella, the top manager’s eyes twinkled when he heard what Brian said.

‘It seems that Young Master Hart has nothing more to do with

Stella than their childhood friendship, yet Stella likes to brag about how close she is with Young Master Hart!

Sometimes, the more attention one attracted, the more likely one would hit rock bottom. If she did provoke the crown prince. until there was no affection left, she would probably be back to square one.

The top manager looked at Stella coldly with a mixture of mockery and disdain in his eyes. Even though some people had the opportunity and resources, their vision and limitations doomed them to achieve nothing!

Grace went up to Paisley Daniels and Martin Weiss. “Hello, Mr.

Weiss and Miss Daniels!”

“It’s you.” Martin Weiss looked at the woman in front of him.

with some surprise. He had seen this woman several times.

before. He remembered that she was Jason’s woman!

Besides, she brought Nelson with her last time. In other words, she knew Kyla Corbyn.

Kyla Corbyn suddenly pa**ed through Martin Weiss’s mind.

“I’m Grace, the lawyer representing Ms. Kyla Corbyn in her custody case.” Grace introduced herself.

After she said Kyla Corbyn’s name, the expression on Paisley Daniels’s face suddenly changed. “What are you doing here? Did Kyla Corbyn ask you to plead for her? We won’t budge on. the child’s custody. He’ll only lead a miserable life with her.”

Grace looked at Paisley Daniels’s face. Paisley Daniels was not stunningly beautiful. She was good-looking, but with a delicate look that aroused men’s desire to protect her.

“No, Miss Corbyn didn’t ask me to plead for her. I came here. to see you, Miss Daniels,” said Grace as she stared at Paisley

Daniels.

anything to do with you.”

Grace said, “How could it be? You’ve been sending people to disrupt the business at Miss Corbyn’s food stall. I just wanted to ask when are you going to stop, Miss Daniels?”

As soon as Grace said this, Paisley Daniels frowned and said, “I don’t know what you’re talking about.”

“If you won’t admit it, then I have no other way but to submit the evidence to the police. I’m afraid that the Daniels family will be embarra**ed, and even the Weiss family’s reputation. will be slightly affected,” said Grace. She did not have any evidence at all. She said that only to put on a bluff.

Paisley Daniels’s expression immediately changed. “How can you possibly have evidence…” She made a conscious attempt to say no, but as soon as the words come out, she realized she had spilled the beans.

Martin Weiss narrowed his eyes coldly and looked at Paisley Daniels. Paisley Daniels bit her lip awkwardly, putting on a pitiful appearance.

Grace said, “You’ll know whether I have evidence when we get to the police.”

She looked at Martin Weiss again as she spoke, “I thought that you’d fight for custody fair and square and not with such petty behavior, Mr. Weiss. Otherwise, even if you win the case,

I wonder what Nelson will think if he finds out his father used such despicable means.”

Martin Weiss’s face darkened immediately. “What’s the  matter? Are you threatening me, Miss Cummins?”

Grace said calmly, “It’s not a threat. It’s only a piece of advice!

I don’t know what you have against each other, but people who never experienced it wouldn’t understand the pain of a woman suffering in prison for more than three years and even giving birth in prison.”

The expression on Martin Weiss’s face turned gloomier, and there was a glint in his eyes.

“That’s all I’m saying. I just want you to stick to the case and not behave pettily. Unless… you don’t think you can win the case, so you’re trying to win it by using such ways,” said Grace. She spoke her last words to goad him into action. She did not know if it would work on Martin Weiss.

However, according to her research, Martin Weiss had always been proud and arrogant. She just hoped it would make a difference.

Otherwise, she could only ask Hadwin Stephenson to find a new job for Kyla.

With that, Grace turned to leave. Martin Weiss turned his head to look at Paisley Daniels who was beside him. “Why did you do that?”

Paisley Daniels paled, and she bit her red lip before saying, “I just… wanted to help you. You want to win custody so badly. If… If Kyla Corbyn doesn’t have enough income, the court… wouldn’t award her the custody.”

Martin Weiss pressed his thin lips together tightly, his deep black eyes staring darkly at Paisley Daniels.

Paisley Daniels felt guilty. It was as if he was going to see through her. She did not send people to give Kyla Corbyn trouble because of Nelson’s custody. She just wanted to vent her anger.

After all, Martin suddenly left the party because of Kyla Corbyn and that b*stard child when they were about to announce their wedding date, making her tMason

Weiss said coldly.

Paisley Daniels gave a soft reply, and a look of regret came over her face. “Martin, I’m sorry. I was just trying to help you. I didn’t expect you to hate it so much… I’ll do what you ask and won’t do it again. Don’t be mad, alright?”

Seeing Paisley Daniels’s behavior, Martin Weiss sighed lightly.

“I’m not mad.”

“Really? I… I thought you were mad at me because of Kyla Corbyn. I’m worried you still have feelings for her,” said Paisley Daniels as she tugged at Martin Weiss’s arm as if she was afraid of losing him.

Kyla Corbyn’s face once again flashed across Martin Weiss’s mind.

He thought of her crying in front of him, saying that even in hell, they would never meet again! The way she jabbed the broken gla** into her stomach, and… the way she anxiously begged him not to fight for Nelson’s custody with a pale face.

“Why do I feel a dull pain in my heart whenever I think of these?

‘Feelings? I’ve never even fallen for that woman. How could I have feelings for her? I was only nice to her to get revenge!

The person he was supposed to take revenge on was Kyla Corbyn’s father, but her father had already died, so he took.
