With that, Quentin prepared to depart, his earlier fury forgotten.

After he left, Ailyn and her group lingered in the hallway, sharing uneasy looks.

They hadn’t expected that Isabella had been actively trying to avert a mishap by keeping them from entering the room.

From the outset, Isabella had cautioned that they were at the wrong door and attempted to deter them, but they had pushed past her. Their injuries now appeared to be self-inflicted.

Feeling embarrassed, they followed Andrew to a private room, silent about the earlier chaos. As they walked, their disarray became more apparent, their clothes a mess from the tussle.

They paused collectively.

“Mr. Klein, with some time to spare before our meeting, may we change our attire to present ourselves respectfully to Dr. Mia?”

Reflecting on their actions, they questioned why they hadn’t considered the misconduct of their intrusion earlier.

Andrew didn’t respond and continued walking. Isabella observed their disheveled appearance and commented nonchalantly, “It’s fine. It doesn’t really matter to me.”

Just as Isabella finished her remark, Ailyn, who had remained quiet, fixed her gaze on her. Today’s events solidified her belief that Isabella was a bad omen, always causing her trouble.

Had Isabella not been by the staircase, misleading them, would they have ever entered the wrong room?

They had spare clothes ready in their cars and enough time for a quick change. Why was Isabella speaking on behalf of Dr. Mia?

Ailyn chose to ignore Isabella, turning her attention solely to Andrew.

Her blatant dismissal of Isabella chilled Andrew’s demeanor.

In fact, he had let Quentin go moments ago just to stand up for Isabella, and Ailyn’s attitude now tempted him to depart with Isabella right then.

But he remembered his agreement with Isabella and merely said in a strained voice, “Changing isn’t necessary.”

“But really, we should freshen up; there’s ample time before the meeting,” Ailyn insisted.

Isabella felt the futility of arguing. However, since they had all arrived early, she thought they might as well conclude their business promptly.

With a dismissive gesture, she explained, “No need for that, Miss Vettel. I’m actually Dr. Mia. If I say it’s fine, then it truly is.”

Isabella candidly revealed her identity as Dr. Mia. Yet, Ailyn misunderstood her assertion.

“You think you can speak for Dr. Mia?”

Ailyn scrutinized Isabella, noting her youthful beauty and the striking black eyeliner that intensified her gaze. Dr. Mia was another identity of Isabella’s, so of course, she could speak for Dr. Mia.

Isabella responded with a nod. “Absolutely.”

Ailyn scoffed at her confidence, her look turning scornful.

“Miss Patton, it’s well-known that Dr. Mia is secluded, preferring solitude. You must have met her at Mr. Damari Klein’s sickbed, right? To claim that a brief encounter allows you to speak for her is quite a joke!”

Ailyn appeared convinced that Isabella was masquerading as Dr. Mia’s proxy.

Isabella was puzzled by Ailyn’s interpretation, which always seemed far removed from what she actually conveyed.

In Ailyn’s native language, Isabella said, “Am I not making myself clear? I’m a medical professional, truly the Dr. Mia you seek. I said changing isn’t necessary because I’ve already seen everything.”

Isabella’s explanation did nothing to convince Ailyn. Instead, Ailyn grew to find her not just irritable but also prone to lying. How could Isabella claim she was a medical professional, comparable to Dr. Mia?

Ailyn then addressed Andrew directly. “Mr. Klein, you’ve agreed to this meeting, which implies a willingness to collaborate. Is this how you demonstrate your sincerity, by letting your fianc?e create disruptions?”

She hoped her remarks would prompt Andrew to see the importance of their collaboration and possibly kick Isabella out of here.

Yet, Andrew’s reaction was chilling; his demeanor became cold and imposing.

Ailyn’s persistent disparagement of Isabella rendered Ailyn unworthy of Isabella’s help.

If Ailyn doubted Isabella’s identity as Dr. Mia, they might as well just leave.

Andrew took Isabella by the wrist, signaling their departure. Isabella did not resist.

While she was generally composed, she did not easily let go of slights.

Unaware initially that Ailyn was the person who wanted to meet her, Isabella now saw no point in forcing a collaboration. If necessary, Homelight Enterprise’s branch in…

Mafelen could be the one that collaborated with the Klein Group, though this risked exposing some confidential details.

The possibility unsettled Isabella; she was unprepared to discuss her past so openly and so soon.

As they began to leave, some of the elders with Ailyn felt that something didn’t add up.

They knew Andrew held Isabella in high regard and wouldn’t tolerate any senseless fabrications from her.

With Dr. Mia yet to make an appearance and Andrew facilitating the meeting, they wondered—could Isabella actually be Dr. Mia?

This suspicion made them anxious. They quickly stepped in to block Andrew and Isabella’s departure.

One elder offered a remorseful smile. “Mr. Klein, a moment please. Ailyn might have inadvertently upset your partner. We apologize deeply. Is it true that Miss Patton is Dr. Mia?”

These elders had pictured Dr. Mia as a venerable figure with vast medical expertise, not someone as young as Isabella.

Yet, given Andrew’s initial refusal to introduce Dr. Mia and his current presence with Isabella, the pieces started to fall into place.

Andrew responded with a frosty look. “No, she isn’t.” However, this denial only deepened their conviction that Isabella was, in fact, Dr. Mia.

Considering Andrew’s high status and his affection for Isabella, he would certainly be displeased with Ailyn’s doubts. In this regard, his denial was a form of acknowledgment.

Now certain they had misbehaved, the elders internally scolded themselves for their earlier disrespect, yet Ailyn remained oblivious to the seriousness of their mistake. She mocked Isabella upon hearing Andrew’s denial.

“I knew you were spouting nonsense. Do you understand the repercussions of impersonating Dr. Mia? If Dr. Mia were anything like you, who would trust her with their lives?”

“Ailyn!” the elders exclaimed, their faces showing panic. “Enough, please!”

They looked nervously at Andrew and Isabella, noting the shared anger in their expressions.

“Ailyn, Miss Patton is indeed Dr. Mia. We owe her an immediate apology!”

Someone in the group attempted to pull Ailyn back to salvage the situation.

Ailyn shook him off, doubtful. “How can you be deceived by Isabella’s blatant fabrications?”

Witnessing the scene, Isabella rolled her eyes, unable to contain her frustration any longer.

“Exactly, I was deceiving you. How could I possibly be Dr. Mia? Now, if you’d kindly move aside, I’m heading home.”

Ailyn stepped out of the way without hesitation, leaving those behind her almost tearful.

“Ailyn, are you really going to let your father die by not seeking Dr. Mia’s help?”

Even if Ailyn doubted Isabella, dismissing Isabella out of hand was reckless, considering Isabella was engaged to Andrew.

They were baffled by Ailyn’s sharp and combative demeanor around Isabella, a departure from her usual tactful and strategic interactions with others.

They were unaware that Ailyn saw no value in Isabella and thus felt no need to mask her contempt.

Yet, she had experienced defeat at the hands of Isabella, intensifying her resentment.

Ailyn’s hatred for Isabella was so intense she viewed Isabella’s mere existence as an insult. And because she believed that Isabella couldn’t do anything to her, Ailyn made no effort to conceal her hostility.

These feelings clouded Ailyn’s judgment, obscuring her own mistakes, which were evident to onlookers. The man Ailyn had shrugged off now looked at her sternly, his concern evident.
