‘50,000 dollars…’ There was no way Kyla Corbyn could come up with that kind of money!
Lina was so mad when she heard this. “50,000 dollars? Why don’t you just rob someone? God knows if you’re the one who planted the fly?”
“What? Are you saying we’re blackmailing her?” he said fiercely.
“Well, you are!” grumbled Lina.
“I found a fly in your food, and this is the physical evidence. Can you prove that it wasn’t from your cooking?” he said shamelessly.
Lina was so pissed off by the three scoundrels!
Just then, Grace said, “We have no way to prove whether you planted the fly or whether it was in the food, but we can prove that you’re blackmailing us.”
Grace picked up her phone as she said, “I recorded you asking for 50,000 dollars just now. I’m going to call the police. Let’s the police handle this once they’re here.”
With that, she dialed 110.
The three men were furious!
One of them tipped the table over, spilling dishes and chopsticks all over the floor. This caused those around them to scream while the customers who had been enjoying their meal quickly fled the scene.
The three of them threatened to hit Grace and Lina. Kyla Corbyn hurried to protect them. After all, it had nothing to do with them. Therefore, she could not let Grace and Lina get hurt.
“You guys should go first!” said Kyla Corbyn.
“Let’s run away together, Kyla. Forget about the stall for now!” said Grace as she grabbed Kyla Corbyn and quickly dialed 110
with her fingers.
Lina also picked up a chair and threw it at the three men as she said to Kyla Corbyn, “Let’s run away together. They’re here to make trouble on purpose! I’ll get Hadwin Stephenson to teach them a lesson later!”
Unfortunately, Hadwin Stephenson was not here right now, so she could only think of ways to protect themselves!
“Hello, is this 110? I have a disturbance here. They want to harm me and my friends…” As soon as the line got through, Grace spoke quickly.
“Damn it, the b*tch called the police! Grab her phone!” one of them spoke as he jumped at Grace. She was just about to give her address when a shadow flashed by and a muffled grunt rang afterward.

The two other men tried to help, but another man appeared and began to fight them.

Grace recognized the two men who had suddenly appeared. They were the bodyguards Jason sent to follow her. These two men also showed up to save her when Elise Dean’s die-hard fan tried to attack her at the film studio.
She had no idea the two bodyguards were still around!
“Miss, where are you? We’ll send the police over,” said the 110 operator at the other end of the line.
Grace muttered, “No thanks… It should be alright now. I’ll… take the three attackers to the police station to give their statements later.”
Once Grace put her phone away, the two bodyguards came forward and asked, “Miss Cummins, are you okay?”
Grace shook her head. “I’m fine. Thanks.”
“Don’t mention it. Mr. Reed sent us to follow you around. It’s our job to keep you safe, Miss Cummins,” said the two men.
“What? You’re Jason’s men?” Lina asked in surprise before to look at Grace. “Does that mean Jason has eyes on you every day?”
Grace gave a wry smile. “It seems so, but every coin has two sides. At least, we’re safe because of them.”
“That’s true.” Lina scratched her head,
Grace turned to Kyla Corbyn and said, “Kyla, you can go on with your business. Lina and I will go to the police station to make a report and give them our statements. The police will have a record of this if these people come troubling you again next time. It’ll serve as evidence for your protection.”
“Thank you!” said Kyla Corbyn.
Just then, a car suddenly rushed over and stopped at the roadside. A figure got out of the car and strode to Lina.
“Hadwin…” Lina had just spoken a word when Hadwin Stephenson turned her body left and right to examine it.
“What was that all about? Are you hurt?” Hadwin Stephenson asked worriedly.
“I’m… fine.” Lina was still shocked at her boyfriend’s sudden.

She could see that he was worried about her.

The two held each other for a long time before Lina realized she and Hadwin Stephenson were about to become the focus of onlookers.
Therefore, her usual thick face turned red. She said to Kyla Corbyn, “Well… Kyla, you should get back to running your business. Grace and I will take these three thugs to the police station.”
“Sorry to trouble you,” said Kyla Corbyn.
“It’s alright.” Lina waved her hand repeatedly.
In the end, they decided that the two bodyguards would share a car with the three men while Lina and Grace would sit in
Stephenson’s car. Then, the two cars headed for the police station that oversaw this stretch of road.
Kyla Corbyn looked on as the car moved away. She thought of how Hadwin Stephenson was so worried about Lina earlier and could not help feeling envious.
‘Isn’t this the kind of relationship I once hoped for? I thought I had it.
‘In the end, it was all just wishful thinking. The man didn’t love nor pity me.
‘Otherwise, he wouldn’t be so cruel to me!’
Kyla Corbyn’s eyes darkened as she thought of the custody case. She knew that the road ahead would be difficult for her.
However, she would go on no matter how hard it was!
“On the way to the police station, Lina told Hadwin Stephenson what happened at the food stall.
Hadwin Stephenson could not help frowning. It seemed fortunate that Jason’s two bodyguards were around. Otherwise, the three women could not have escaped!
“Why don’t I send two bodyguards to protect you as well?” asked Hadwin Stephenson.
Lina quickly refused. “No, I’ll feel like I’m being watched and feel uncomfortable.”
