“You have to be kidding” I said, laughing as Alexander ran the second we reached the park.

Acting as he used to when we were kids and his parents would scold us. It was a memory that I loved. The two of us would go to the park, and run for hours while Alpha Mathew and Luna Katelyn watched us from a distance. There were times that I didn’t know that I was adopted, and the two of us barely saw one another as brother and sister. Hell, I don’t even think we related to how we saw one another.

It wasn’t until we grew older that we started looking at one another differently; but even with that in mind, if anyone had told me that I would have been the mate of the Alpha, I would have told them that they were lying. How the time has changed as well as so many things that I thought would be completely impossible.

“Come on, Scar” he said, and I shook my head at him. It was the place they found me in after I ran, and wrapping my arms around myself, I couldn’t help but shudder at the memory.

Seeing me tense, Alexander ran back to me, stopping a step away from me before he wrapped his arm around my waist. He studied my expression for a second, and looking around, he pulled me toward one of the trees, the tree that I was sleeping in front of that night. How he knew that I was there, I didn’t know; however, he seemed to be more or less confident about his actions. “Alexander…”

“I am helping you make new memories, beautiful ones, in the places of the dark ones” he said, stopping me “I know that life was not easy on you, and I know that mostly, no one was; however, I want you to know that I am there for you. Yes, I know that I was not the best mate, and I never will be. I am stupid, and I am an idiot, but Scarlett, you are my world, and it kills me to know that I broke your heart as much as I did…”

“I love you, Alexander” I said, looking down at my feet, stopping him. He frowned in confusion, and cupping my cheeks, he tried understanding whether or not he heard me correctly. But despite everything, I knew that it was the reality of things. I loved him more than I could actually admit. And that was the only thing that kept me going despite everything that he has done to me.

“I know that I don’t show it at times, and I know that I am not the mate that you have wanted. I am not stupid as to think that I am. I have my flaws, and I am no Beta born or Alpha born. I am an omega, the least ranked in the pack, and I know that at times, you see me less than even a human would be if mated to one. I know that I am not Delilah, I don’t have her beauty, and I probably never will. I don’t have the other she-wolf’s strengths, nor was I raised to have it. You know that for fact. But I know one thing, and I have known it for as long as I could remember” I said, taking a deep breath, wanting to get that weight out of my c*hest. He could choose to reject me again if he wanted to, my wolf didn’t even want me anymore, and has silenced me long ago; therefore, I knew that the last thing she would care about is another rejection “I love you so much, Alpha Alexander. With my heart, b*ody, and soul, I am in love…”

I was stopped by Alexander’s l*ips connecting with mine. His k*iss was gentle, loving even, and cupping my cheeks, he ran his finger over my cheekbone, his t*ouch soft. The two of us pulled away to breathe, and resting his forehead against my own, his eyes met mine as I opened them, and the smile on his face told me more than his words would have.

“I love you too, Scarlett” he said, making my heart race “I know that I realized it a bit later than I should, but I f*ucking love you so much…” I woke up to Alexander running his finger over my back.

The two of us were still at the park, but having sat down in front of the tree, I couldn’t help but doze off on his c*hest when he ran his fingers over my lower back, gently massaging it.

He smiled, looking down at me, and rubbing the sleep from my eyes, I sat up when he cupped my cheeks to k*iss me. His k*iss was soft, loving, and sweet, and I couldn’t help but enjoy every second of it. He smiled into the k*iss, and pulling away, the two of us looked one another in the eye before he took my hand in his, intertwining our fingers.

“Did you get a little rest?” He asked, and I nodded, smiling when I saw him running his finger over my bottom l*ip. The sun was already setting, and I knew that it was time for us to go. We still needed to check on Anastasia who was with the maids throughout the whole day today, and despite my wolf not wanting to accept her, I couldn’t help but miss her.

“Can we go home?” I asked, making Alexander frown in confusion “I miss Nasia, and…”

Now, if I thought that me saying the three words that bound us together in what was love, made Alexander happy, then I was wrong. Hell, seeing the smile on his face now told me that he was more than just happy. The man was somewhere else.

He cupped my cheeks and connected his l*ips with mine before getting up and lifting me with him. My eyes widened in surprise, and wrapping my arms and l*egs around him, I hugged him tightly, not wanting to fall before he put me down on my feet. His wolf purred, taking me by surprise, and wrapping his arm around my waist, the two of us walked toward his car. I smiled at the place, this ground being one that once saw me at my weakest and most humiliated state was now seeing me happy and smiling.

“What are you thinking about?” Alexander asked, pinning me against his car. I looked at him over my shoulder, and smiling, I put my hand on his cheek, gently pulling him closer to me before he k*issed my cheek.

“I am thinking about the new memories that have been formed in this place” I said, gently brushing my finger over his scruff “at least I know that they would be memories that I would be cherishing”

“I believe that we can say, WE, instead of I this time, don’t you think?” Alexander asked, making me blush “I believe that it is about time that the two of us put a title to our relationship…”

“What?” I asked, my heart racing as my eyes widened in surprise.

“If you would allow me to, Scarlett, and if you would trust me enough to do it…” He said, taking a deep breath before he said the next words that shook my grounds completely “I would like to mark you as mine, Neonata…”
